I mean this is not to excuse Arizona cheating because there is no excuse however callie is not capable of forgiveness. I mean she acts like arizona doesn't love her child and she acts like arizona is the only one who messed up the relationship. It's like from the start of counseling callie wasn't even trying to forgive arizona so it was already broken beyond repair
I love this couple so much and that plane crash started all those problem w/ Derek and everyone after they saved the hospital from bankcruptcy. Callie and Arizona's perfect just when all things get hurt I still want then still to be together.
I'm currently rewatching Grey's (like the whole thing... aaaall the seasons) and finished Bend and Break last night. These two women are so MFEO but they do have a hard time communicating sometimes. They are both fun, strong, smart, compassionate people and those qualities make them outstanding. I only wish the writers had taken better care of them as individuals and as a couple. Some writers seemed to have a problem developing stories for them as anything else besides a couple from s8 and onwards, while others could champion them both as professionals and human beings which also generated more screentime (something that was usually only reserved for couples like Merder or Jolex) instead of long periods of 45 sec snippets followed by an angst-ridden Calzonacentric episode.
Calzona needed time apart, but that's mainly due to some really unfortunate story decisions on behalf of the writers. S9 could have been great. Many elements of it was. We've got some of the most loving Calzona scenes from it, but sadly, some of the worst as well. We all know that the unforgivable thing for Callie is cheating. And it is also something that seem to be Arizona's greatest fear. She's got her principles, which are so beautifully and eloquently put forward in her speech to Callie's dad in s6. So. I hate the cheating storyline, with the Murphy-fumblings afterwards as well. I also hate that they wrote Callie as someone who never listen and who interrupts her partner. Bc she is, at her core, a compassionate and intelligent person beneath the proud facade. They both used to be so good at making each other better, which made for lovely character development. They are both so different and so much alike. And I wish the writing had gone in that direction rather than creating distance, resentment and two people who love each other deeply but can't communicate. Bc even though they could argue and discuss things quite heatedly in earlier seasons, they listened to what the other had to say.
Bend and Break is a good episode for the first 30-38 minutes. And most of us wanted Calzona to walk out together, stronger and more in tune with each other. Bc there are few LGBTQIA+ power couples who have long and lasting relationships on tv, and what's even more important; on such a big show with a worldwide audience.
Oh. I'm ranting again. Gonna wrap it up then!
Glad they're endgame, sad that they're gone and always longing for a reunion.
You are completely right that's one of the things I found hard about grey's once they establish some characters they forego their fundamental core for the sake of drama

Their on screen chemistry is crazy. The moment Callie walked in the kitchen, Arizona couldn't focus and Callie wanted to give her the business. You could feel the tension in the moment that they wanted each other but were trying to ignore it. Penny and Callie didn't have any chemistry at all.

Most of you are talking bad about Callie but have you realized arizona blames callie for her leg but callie doesn't blame arizona for the car crash. Idk if callie ever told arizona that alex's is who to blame for the leg but she wasn't about to jeprodize their frenship so she just took all of the blame. And when she told callie that it was a mistake that she cheated. Callie already knew that arizona wouldnt have made the mistake by having her ring pinned on a different pair of srubs that she wasn't wearing. Then it went of in Callie's mind she had already known what had happened. And when she told her that it was a mistake and callie said i dont think it was. She was right arizona didnt have to have to do that but she did. When callie got that one girls phone number she told arizona about it and how she felt but they got back together anyway. Arizona may still love callie but callie had moved on. Its not her fault that arizona made a stupid desicion. I loved how when mereidith said a real mom would rather give up her child then to have it split in half. Arizona decided to do the custody battle not callie she had no choice but to fight. Yes mark did die that was sofias father and that was Callie's besfriend you think she would have been the same after her wife almost died in a plane crash lost her leg and her besfriend died. He is what got Callie through the hard times. Arizona was there more but he did it. He gave up the girl he fought his besfriend for so that he could have his kid with his bestfriend. He didnt want to be the cool uncle he wanted to be the father. Arizona said she thought she was never cut out to be a mom. Your are a Pediatric surgeon you help kids. Honestly I have no clue what half of that had to do with people calling callie all of these horrible names but I just got a little carried away. :)
And why would Callie blame Arizona for the car crash when she was the one who wouldn't put her freaking seatbelt on?
In my opinion the custody battle wasn’t started by Arizona, Callie wanted to go with Penny to New York and take Sofia with her. Which is fine if Callie had sat down and talked to Arizona about it and they did what co-parents are supposed to and made a plan. But Callie didn’t she just made all these plans and didn’t even include Arizona until she made them.

I think Arizona should have taken a step back after finding out about the baby and let herself be angry because these things she is saying about not having a choice in the matter are things Lexie Grey said in the past but the difference is the time to be angry has long gone and after everything that has happened no one will understand now. She didn't take it and let herself be angry and process it when she should have and chose to push those feelings down to be with Callie. Much bigger things happened that destroyed their marriage for anyone to take what she said about something that happened years ago that seriously even though it is a valid thing and it seems it's caused resentment over the years and she's still holding it against Callie all these years later rather than letting it go.
Imo even though they got married and had a kid those aren't signs of a healthy or happy marriage. They would have been better off giving each other time and taking things slow and maybe the rest of the stuff like the breakdown of the marriage wouldn't have happened but Calzona rushed themselves into trying to make it work. But for example like Lexie she took a step back let herself be angry and later chose to be with Mark. The resentment wouldn't have been there because she had time to release her anger and process it fully and let Mark go then later make a choice if she wanted to come back to him rather than push herself into it to hold onto Mark like Arizona did with Callie.
Yes Arizona loves her child but Calzona ended up feeling trapped in their relationship in the end and their relationship fell apart. Sometimes the wise and mature thing is to take a step back when you aren't comfortable with something rather than push yourself through it. Love doesn't fix everything. I know people called Lexie grey immature for doing that but it saved her a lot of resentment whereas that's the thing that slowly ate Arizona up inside.That she felt like she didn't have any choice or control.
MariaS 359 Completely agree with you on that spot on assessment. Arizona should have taken time when she found out about Callie being pregnant with Mark's baby. Callie asked her if she wanted to be part of the plan...Callie even stayed with Mark to give her time, but Arizona rushed it. They both did...because Callie could have said, we're together just not together yet. The marriage proposal again was rushed due to jealousy. They needed to take a step back so that they could take the steps forward towards their relationship. Lexie was a bit naive but she was right when it was all said and done. I guess Callie finally realized that at the therapy session...they needed to find themselves before thinking of being together. Arizona always said that Callie wouldn't let her express herself, she always assumed and put words in her mouth; I think she was just afraid of being the one to burst that bubble. It was easier to let Callie be the bad guy.

Callie did not listen at all to Arizona. Why did she accept to go to the couples counselor if she was not interested in saving their marriage? Arizona made a lot of mistakes but she was trying to explain her feelings and why she made all of that mistakes.
CHEATING is NOT a mistake! You don't mistakenly put your private area on another woman private area. A mistake is stepping on someone toe, not "grinding" another woman! I agree with Callie Arizona ALWAYS had an excuse!

Everyone is saying that Callie never allowed Arizona to say anything, but no one is looking at the point that Callie did everything to make her happy she was ready to give up her happiness to not have children, she took the blame for cutting off her leg and endured all the lashing out and venom and anger that she spewed at her and she stayed she stuck to it, so she had all right to feel like she did everything just to get cheated on, so Arizona bringing up feeling like she was trapped was no excuse for her cheating on her wife like that, especially knowing what her wife went through being cheated on in the past, she chose to go after Callie and be together after she found out she was pregnant

It started with the plane crash all the problem with the team. But no it's not all Callie's fault, it's more on both of them Arizona was to disappointed losing her leg while she has the best orthopedic surgeon wife. And everything went bad from there the insecurity, blaming and cheating but though it happened they showed great love to each other.
For the record, I don’t think the show would mention the fact that Callie is single in New York, when Arizona left for no reason so I pray and hope that these two are together, and we will see the comeback of Calzona one day

But Callie jumped to conclutions as always. She always expected the worst from Arizona instead of listening to what she was actually going to say.

Technically, Arizona isn’t the only one who “cheated”. Callie slept with mark, and got pregnant. But Arizona still forgave her, I mean c’mon Arizona made a mistake which leads to them breaking up. I wish it didn’t happen, like I said Callie made a mistake and then Arizona forgives and look at her now she’s the best mother anyone could possibly have but when Arizona makes a mistake Callie can’t forgive her, I mean what’s the problem.
