  • If there is one thing Alex is advocating for, is for Kenyans to go to Canada and not give in to fear. He has been there for 18 years and to him, the place is great and any determined person will eventually make it.
    But, he also knows what it means to be imprisoned and almost deported from the same country .
    So, how exactly did prison change his life, why was he never deported and what can we all learn from his journey ?
    Here is Lynn Ngugi with today’s episode of LNS Rebuilding series

    Brothers and sisters i live in Canada and this country is one if not the best in the world. Don't get get me wrong, of course nothing is perfect and that being said, in Canada we work, work and work and for those blessed with coming from peaceful countries like Kenya you can come here and make money to build something big back home.
    Minimum wage here is $15 an hour and I can guarantee you few people in Africa make that amount even a month. However, for an educated African obviously you want more than that and you should come with skills that will allow you to make at least $30 an hour. Skills now needed are those like in the IT, plumbery, car mechanics, nurses, electricians, construction industries. These guys make more money than those in the offices with university degrees.
    When I say this I'm not talking about those who learned those skills from the streets, I'm talking about approved credentials.
    One more thing you should know is that coming here as a single person isn't advisable, couples make more money and achieve more.

    So, there's a price to pay for everything in life... you like the beauty of roses, you'll have to put up with the thorns. Love the beauty of the rainbow🌈? You gotta put up with the rain😅 nothing worth having comes easy. Not in Kenya & certainly not in Canada😊 myself, I came to Canada from Kenya, Eldoret. 30 someodd years ago. Never been homeless and haven't experienced any severe hardships. I attribute this, perhaps, due to the fact I've always never lost sight of my objectives, to be successful. And, success to me does not mean you're hoarding tons of cash & sleepless nights. It means you live within your means & don't fail to plan. Go to bed early, wake up early, exercise, eat well, socialize, keep up with your industry trends & apply this where you need to. You don't need 3 Mcmansions. You only need one small house to hold you & your loved ones. Do not try to keep up with anyone. Mind your own business. Live & let live. Let me know how this works for you 😂

I got my papers and moved south to be with my parents. I have always encourage people to move there wakipata chance and they have to be serious about their lives. The system was overwhelmed by influx of people and it will absorbs all Kenyans. I always ask my friends wenye wako Canada to help and host as many Kenyans or African as they can. Canada is good and kama haikuwa canada I won’t have come to the USA. If you have a visa kwenda canada. Go to other provinces like Alberta, Nova Scotia, Manitoba mahali hakuna large population.

    The way the vedio shows those Toronto condos is so funny in the beginning of the video. Those condos cost about $2500-$3500/month😂. Living in the downtown is horrible. In fact, living in Toronto is something I do not advise newcomers to do. Please, Kenyans, when you move to Canada, move to smaller cities. Toronto will punish you. In smaller cities, you will be able to build community and net work easily.
    Two things to avoid in Canada if you want to avoid mental stress.
    1. Abide by the law no matter what.
    2. Do not ruin your credit because once you do that, forget buying a house or getting loans or anything that needs you to have a good credit even getting an apartment some landlords want to see your credit. Some not all.

    I like the maturity of Alex about everything. I lived in 🇨🇦 for 4yrs in the early 2000 & it was a lifetime experience. I now live in the UK, but most people who talk bad about 🇨🇦 went there with that quick rich mentality so that they can show off on social media or whenever they come back to Africa for a visit. Any country that offers free top-notch healthcare, education, unlimited job opportunities, clean drinking water, good service delivery etc is good for sane people who want to better their lives. If you get that chance, grab it with both hands. Stay away from those fake RUclips wannabes who're looking for content by instilling fear on you. & most of those people always moan about how bad 🇨🇦 is for content views, but you'll never hear them saying they're leaving 🇨🇦, 🇬🇧, 🇺🇸, 🇦🇺, 🇳🇿 etc.

      They should interview us who went to Canada before smart phones. Ok, black berry was the thing then, but only facebook was upcoming social media platform. RUclipsrs were not making miragtion vedios or house tours, this is what i wore to Beyonce concert( meanwhile Beyonce was having concerts then) Now people move to Canada and want the house that a youtuber is show casing on her channel. They want quick quick. I am glad i moved before social media was a thing. I had nothing to compare Canada to. Infact those days if you landed into a good host family, you were pretty much set.

    He couldn't be deported as he had acquired citizenship through his mother as a minor and once a citizen of Canada or USA you can't be deported if arrested you're handed just like any other citizen.
    Changing a visa into a work permit isn't a walk in the park sometimes it can be super easy eg through genuine marriage and sometimes it can be very difficult eg through asylum. Working under the table and breaking the law I wouldn't advise anyone to do that, work on getting legal work documents eg if you go as a visitor find a way to legally stay & work. Surround yourself with other legal people that have been through a similar process or find a lawyer who offer free consultations.

    I came to America in my 20's. Luckily I lived in a small college town in the south. Every Kenyan I met was either doing their masters or PhD, no drinking, no drugs, no partying. In my mind I thought that was the norm. Eventually I got my masters degree, got a good job and never looked back. It really matters who you surround yourself with, they can make or break you.

    He is right. Unfortunately people expect short cuts in these countries and that is the problem. Let no one lie to you that they will bend their system for you. You are expected to follow the rules and do as required, especially as an immigrant, and you won't have problems with the authorities.
    Their systems can either align you or break you.

    Unfortunately, some cartels have taken over LMIA process and are asking for CAN$30k or more from visitors who need work permits.

    • @dorcy8634
      @dorcy8634 11 месяцев назад

      LMIA process needs better clarification since people don't know it's a new program to Canada's system and Employers.Secondly I hear pple say it's meant for certain provinces.I would say if not sure of a certain program seek for another way out rather than pouring your time and money.

    • @priskayvonneouko9060
      @priskayvonneouko9060 11 месяцев назад +2

      LMIA is misunderstood. A company is given Approval after submitting a Labour Market Impact Assessement form + a fee (which is on the CIC website). Once approved they can hire foreigners to work for them ( workers are tied to that company, if you are fired or you resign, your work permit expires too unless you get another contract with a LMIA approved company.
      Any company in Canada, but Québec might have an extra layer of Provincial Approval.
      With $30K, one can do so much in Kenya,don't waste it on scoundrels who will pay you minimum wage and make life miserable.

    • @waridim9249
      @waridim9249 11 месяцев назад +2

      @priskayvonneouko9060
      Job seekers can no longer access those places, fast foods, etc, unless you pay some scammers $30k+. Then you work for minimum wage, and your work permit is closed for a number of years.
      Cost of living has spiraled and holding one minimum wage job is untenable.
