Deers in my area eat my coneflowers almost to the ground. The deers eat mint, lilac, and chives to. The deers have also eaten all the flowers off the bee balm.
You are too cute and too cool for school! You make me love plant life and my garden. Going shopping this weekend for some Lavender and Gladiator Allium. Thank you for inspiring the rest of us plant newbies.
I'm in zone 6a SE Michigan, I have all of these in my yard. The deer will eat the Baptisia and have tasted the coneflower a few times, but certainly don't mow them down like my other plants.
Justin I really enjoy your videos, I’m in a zone 8a in east Texas. This was my first year to do a vegetable garden 🪴 I have watched all your videos and they have been so helpful! We have a heavy deer population so we built a enclosed vegetable garden to keep them out ! So far so good.. I have several flower gardens among our 23 acre plot, so vegetables are a new world to me , but I really believe because of your videos and sharing your knowledge I “So Far “ have been very successful. Thank you Justin , I always look forward to your videos ! Misty
That really means a lot! Thank you for taking the time to share. Glad to know that the content is helping. We've got plenty more videos coming down the pipeline this summer! : )
I have a major deer issue. I need to add a few of these to my garden. A few things that absolutely haven't touched once are Iris, canna lily, and elephant ears.
Thanks for another fun and informative video! My mom, Deborah, and I visited your nursery Monday and met Alex and your dad. Great people! Bummer we missed you but we plan to return in the fall from Charlotte and Winston Salem. Keep up the good work!
I love to watch your channel , I was watching all of your videos and learning a lots . I wish I lives close to your store I will go there to support your business. Thanh you so much for sharing.
these videos only get better and better! Justin - - so - - funny! I'll take three of each and have the shipped here to SW MI...wondering if they'll repel my chickens! Thanks for sharing and that cameraman gets me every time! Hey Alex!
@@RealALSK What I wouldn't give to get even an inch of rain! It's been a while and super dry in these parts...it's almost unheard of to go for so long with very little rain ... keep cool - until next time!
Heeeey Justin. Little late catching this video because I was dealing with Deer. Installing fencing in the garden. But, the video was what I needed on this rainy Kentucky day. I just want you to know...I have become a plant person and love it! I've always loved your videos and your great sense of humor in the presentation. It's refreshing to experience your passion and your willingness to share your passion and knowledge with us. Much appreciation my Friend. Cheers!!!
The only thing I have found to be deer proof is a wood fence, sadly!😢 Thanks for all the great information on these plants! I need all the help I can get! Just love your videos! Wish I lived closer to your awesome nursery! Everything looks so beautiful!!!! Need to take a vacation to your nursery with a u haul truck!
I have severe deer pressure (I live in rural PA) I've been experimenting for 15 yrs on what and what not to plant... Coneflowers and Rudbeckia are no goes here, they get chomped down in my garden. But, I am having great luck with Foxglove, allium, and miscanthus. I am going to try nepeta and lavender this year. Maybe red hot pokers.
Justin I learn a lot from your videos so thank you for the information. I was wondering if I can ask you question about my Niagara Falls Eastern White Pine tree I bought last year. I'm in Michigan - zone 5 and I noticed the needles are beige. I asked the nursery where I purchased the tree and they didn't know anything about the tree. I contacted Michigan State University horticulture department but they haven't responded yet. I'm nervous I'm doing something wrong. Can you shed some light what I should do. Thank you Anita
I was with you all the way to Monarda. I planted one this year and it has been a favorite of the deer. I also added an orange mint and just last night they mowed that one almost to the ground. So much for deer not liking mint!
I’m glad I haven’t seen any since it got warm lol! They were here all winter coming up at night eating my birdseed 😳😂🐤🐦 and my apple tree and my azaleas and Nandinas! I didn’t think they would eat a Nandina LOL My goodness so annoying !!! Thanks for the tips 🖤💚🤍🪴🪴🪴
I am definitely a plant person! But I cannot get my bee balm to bloom. Foliage gets about 3 feet tall and wide but no blooms. Any ideas, Justin? I love your enthusiasm for plants!
I need the top 7 perennials that goats won't eat, lol. I have to hang baskets from my trees in order to have any flowers at my house. My goats gobble up anything i try to plant. 😂😂
Elk have eaten my red hot pokers during the winter and have almost ruined them…so,I’m building chicken wire cages over all my pokers to keep the Elk off of them!!! 4:23
Heck..the deer here ate my hydrangea, all hostas, black eye susans, geraniums, tomatoes, and rest of garden through the netting. Came home and 6 deer were feasting at my "buffet" one at the bird feeder licking the bird seed. Why can't they eat the weeds???😢
Love your videos. Very entertaining and you always make me laugh.

Mine too !
They ate my coneflowers, also. I’ve had good luck with foxglove, plumbago, allium, and nepeta.
That's different! Deer usually detests mint. Spray your flowers with lavender or mint essential oil.

Give it some fertilizer ❤
Love the videos.
Ok… I don’t have a deer issue.
How do I keep the dogs from hiking a leg?
Dog and cat repellent! I got mine at the nursery but Amazon has it! I had a stray dog pooping in my allium! Seems to work so far!
Hey Justin. I love your videos. Such fire & energy. Is it possible to order from s & k ?? Plants. Beautiful shrubs and such ,,,

Can i grow allium and kniphofia in Zone 11?
Red hot poker?? Haha. They don't touch the leaves, but they chomp the flower buds right off.
How is your landscaping around your house filling in?
Opinions on Crimson Fire Lorapetalum?
Love it! I have two of them planted at our entrance. They do require pruning though, to keep them compact. :)
The deer love my baptisia.
Elk have eaten my red hot pokers during the winter and have almost ruined them…so,I’m building chicken wire cages over all my pokers to keep the Elk off of them!!!

I hate to tell you but my deer eat all the blooms & leaves from my baptisia- I never get to see the purple flowers & the yellow are eaten also.
My deer were so thirsty that they are climbing 13 steps to my deck! And the steep ramp.
I doubt they'll jump over a rope going up either.

Justin, what state you are in?
Shelby, NC :)
Ohio deer love to eat my bee balm and red hot poker. They are not picky eaters.
Catmint will attract feral cats though…..
Please share rabbit resistant plants
Cone flowers are a no no at my house for deer.
First!!
❤
Catnip? That’s trading one animal problem for another!
Catmint
Deer eat cone flowers 😢
Deer even ate my coleuses!
Red hot pokers the deer seem to eat the buds in my yard...
Probably got a booze making still in that Greenhouse
Lmao well as we don’t I wouldn’t put it past our grandpa when he was running it before he passed😅
