  • A rare ovoviviparous species that hatch eggs within the body. This makes it appear that the female is giving birth to live young.

i mean, a human's water breaking is basically like a human egg hatching so it's pretty much the same 😌 /j
anyway your roaches are gorgeous, one day i want to keep my own they're so cute and fascinating!

Welcome to the nature channel with your host, Chief Attenborough ;) Jokes aside, I actually didn't not know this, so thanks for educating me! It's always super interesting to learn about the wonders of nature :D
Keep up the good work, my man :D

@@ChiefSweetsUniverse I love learning about it. When I'm not watching football, the TV is always set on Nat Geo Wild, so I can watch a lot of animal documentaries :)

Omg I bred those nifty lil guys too😊
They prospered happily with my 2 giant african millipedes. When my cousin was in the 4th grade she wanted to do a report for her class so I brought them in for a show and tell. The focus was supposed to be on the beetles but the millipedes decided to steal the show and found it appropriately the perfect time to mate. The teacher and I were dying😂
Of course the kids were all asking questions. They thought I had one bc they couldn't wrap their fragile minds around the fact there were 2. They kept asking where the other one was and granted those sweet lil bracelets with many legs are quite....erotic when mating. The teacher and I were trying to keep a straight face. The only thing that fell out of my mouth was...they are stuck together😭🤣 and the teacher said they were... Hugging and we should let them be. Of course....kids are relentlessly curious. Teacher was trying to get them to go back to their seats but they were all like ooooh look at their legs go!!! (Their legs go in waves every thrust) My only response was "yep, they're dancing? So who wants to hold some beetles!?!?"
Children.....I wanna hold the millipedes!!!! 🤨🤦 What a trip.
Speaking of trip...I inadvertently smuggled a bunch of madagascan babies into Canada on a road trip to Montreal to meet up with a college friend who landed movie work there. Him and his gf were like yeah, just make sure you keep track bc they are illegal here. Then he proceeded to slam on the brakes and the latch opened and in slow motion babies took flight.
Trying to catch them all was a trip in itself. Needless to say, you can't take me anywhere😂😂😂

I feed the babies. They don’t multiply as fast as you think though. Not like mealworms

Hey ok curious ive been playing around with using sand or soil for substrate in my bug breeding bins i know u have them in there well im guessing its bec these guys can climb the plastic bins unlike the say dubias but im curious do u keep ur dubias like thia as well i have plenty of extra small glass terreiums like lil fish tanks just from collecting them from diff rescues or just lil fish tanks lile lil 15 gal or 20gal so ive been thinking about setting up an actual enclosure for my dubia colony and painting the glass black to give them there dark space and maybe use just a heat mat on the glas maybe even vertically on the one side idk i just feel like especially like with my superworms they eat the cardboard and idk about u but i just cant see that being good for our reptiles so ive been experimenting with cork and diff pieces of wood instead of cardboard

question: how can you tell if a female is pregnant, I’m currently trying to start a colony but I don’t know how to tell if she is ready to be placed into a bigger container to give “birth”. I have left my only male and female in the most hot and humid part of my house in hopes of them breeding. So I’m wondering what I should look out for if they succeeded
