I recently bought the gold top. For £199 you will not get better! Perfect out of the box, level frets, well dressed, decent tuners, decent humbuckers, lovely finish plays and feels better than the Vintage (wilkinson) les pauls I've owned and they were great. Get one before they shoot up in price, you wont regret it
I just grabbed a goldtop at they are under £200!! Fantastic for pub gigs and practice. I found the frets are awful and roughly finished but the rest of the set up was ok. I spent 2 hours polishing the stoning marks out of the frets and I beveled the edges properly so I don't cut my hands! I lowered the strings slightly and it plays really well. The pickups are quite low output but sound nice and clear. It's no Gibson but it is exceptional value if you can fettle it to get it right. My experience out of the box is it is rough! You get what you pay for. If they charged £250 and polished the frets properly it would be very good out of the box.
Really useful comment, I'm thinking of getting one even if a little work needed! How do you find the neck profile? Similar to a real Les Paul i.e. fat? Thanks
@@appetiteforguitar the neck profile is the same as my Gibson Les Paul. Another thing to note is my neck is a 3 piece. Probably not important to some but will be to others. I have since changed my pickups and wiring. I had some 1977 Gotoh pickups and they sound killer. I play in a band with 2 other guitarists one of which uses a really nice PRS. My Eastcoast now upgraded holds its own.
@@rgbplumbinghilton that's really cool, thanks. Think I might go for it. The blue one looks stunning. The closest Gibson/Epi LP in terms of looks is the Goryo Yuto Les Paul which I've been keeping an eye on for a while, but is multiple times the price. Feel is the most important thing though overall and the neck is the make or break for me. I've got a skinny Fender Strat, but really want the fat Gibson feel now without breaking the bank. Hovering over the buy button!
I have one I bought from you guys earlier this year and besides from the amp cord not working in America I'm pretty satisfied but one question will this guitar take Les Paul upgrades and if so what year
How do we convince Eastcoast to make us a baritone (27" scale length) L1? At the moment if you want a budget baritone the entire market has conspired together (weirdly) to insist it MUST be Telecaster shaped. Net result is I hate the telecaster shape... but have 3 of them! So many down tuning people really want a Les Paul shape baritone, and even Gibson barely makes them. Such a dream-come-true waiting to happen.
Look great. Although I've never understood the newer version of the classic sunbursts. I call them clownbursts. They don't look like the classic ones to me. The black and gold tops will always be the winners,
I have the blue burst and it's gorgeous. Can you tell me what gauge strings it comes with please, so I buy the right ones. I can't find info anywhere. Thanks
Sounds good, looks even better! Finally, a blueburst that covers the entire guitar. Off to the website now.

Insane value, especially with Epiphone becoming more and more expensive.
That gold top looks really good
The gold top is the dave Simpson signature, if he thinks it's amazing then it's got to be bloody good
That last jam, I was waiting for the James Bond theme to come in 😁👍
I've just bought one of the blue L1 guitars from Andertons, very much looking forward to playing it (wish you'd had it in dark green).

@@chaelsonnen2747 by lowering the bridge
great review guys got an eastcoast strat type last yr superb value for money and now really like the l1
I'm a les Paul player and these look and sound amazing. You guys say they play amazing I believe you
awesome, can't wait for the upcoming SG's....
I don't usually like odd colours, but the blue looks great!
Unbelievable quality for the money....
Great value ….some gold tops and black beauties with p90s and mini humbuckers would also be a nice addition 👍
Should have an Eastcoast Guitar Modding challenge.
Gotta get that blue and the gold top🤩
Good modding platforms for these guitars
😍😍😍😍 amazing!!!!

In order to get an answer to your question, try emailing Andertons or calling, its a good question.
What happened to shiffordable

Love your videos, and I'm interested in these guitars. But I live in Portugal. How much is the delivery fee to Portugal?
All the delivery information is shown in the checkout. Cheers 👍
is this dry signal straight into the amp or are they going through pedals?

They'll likely be 10-46 guage. I put a bigger string guage on though and it was absolutely fine with them 👍
@@recordatron thank you
Why is your website down so often, at least unreachable?
I honestly wish this brand was just called "Anderton" instead of Eastcoast.
East coast vs ephiphone
so buy all 5 and a thousand pound amp then have enuff money to smooth things over with an expensive dinner with the wife ? or buy a gibson les paul ?
pause at :18 and check out pete lol - too many videos in one day i think
play some metal lad
Gibson and Epiphone are the only two real Les Paul's..
😂😂😂😂...its not 1973 mate 🙄
