Well I just realized why I can’t make videos like this. I don’t have the patience lol it’s incredibly time consuming and you’re literally doing the work of a team of people. Screenwriting, directing, you’re the main character, producer, video editor, music director, etc. I’m slightly overwhelmed thinking about the amount of work that goes into this. 🙃 I mean of course hubby gets credit as well. But still even w/ two people it’s a lot of work.
Command + R on the footage, you’ll find a quicker way to adjust the speed as fast or slow as you want it to be. Choose Optical Flow in Retime and Scaling tab for Slo-mo footage, it’ll help reduce shaky. Love how you tell stories ;)

One Resolve tip: to apply the same grade to every clip that comes from the same camera original file, like you did around 11:00, you can go to Lightbox view, and down on the bottom left menu, you will find 'Same source clip'. That will you automatically display you every clip that comes from the same file and you don't have to manually find them around the timeline ❤

After watching a few your videos, the first thing that I could think about is no matter how ‘simple’ and ‘slow’ and ‘calming’ your daily life is, your preparation, balance, dedication and incredible attention to details are shining through each video.. and those are never simple. I wish I can learn that from you. As someone who plans to launch a RUclips channel next year I’ve been doing a lot of research and this was the perfect overview of how to create storytelling cinematic videos.
I agree that the story you want to convey is where it all comes from. The initial idea I had was to film something and build from that but as I’ve learned the idea comes first. Your detailed notes show a level of attention that I aspire to follow.
So many lessons I’ve been seeing speak highly of the value to good audio. The crackling of the fire, the right music, and all background sounds can make or break the story.
I really enjoy learning how you have your video folders. I’ll be watching again to take more details in. This was something I’ve been wondering and so far haven’t seen much on that organizing.

Do you ever feel stressed about keeping the house looking clean and perfect all the time? I can imagine it can be hard to have a daily life with the child and husband yet have everything so tidy. Or do you not worry and live life and just clean up before the shoot? I can imagine it being rather hard to find the balance of enjoying life and not stressing about the mess you have to clean before shooting a video.
Also, thank you for sharing your journey and your struggles too. It is very impressive the work you do while struggling with depression. Hoping you are feeling much better nowadays as it gets harder when the days get shorter. ☀️ Sending sunshine your way!

The type of RUclips audiences that RUclipsrs get are extremely interesting. There are folks who prefer step by step, energetic and very talkative, with crazy sound effects and music for tutorials, while others prefer this type of video where there’s no talking, just subtitles, and a music that makes ya go to sleep. Humans are so interesting

you can add a subtitles track on top of your video track in the edit page! it makes doing subtitles much faster and you can also export them as a separate file alongside the baked in subtitles to the video!

This is so inspiring. I am learning color grading and it still feels like I cannot create the looks I want. I wonder how you ended up with the color presets you now just apply to the shots depending on the conditions. Did you create them yourself from scratch or did you use any pre-made presets, and if so, which do you recommend?🤩
She is starting with log profile footage and I’m guessing she is applying a basic LUT followed by minor adjustments. In my experience it would be really difficult to get this look without shooting log profile videos. I think the key is to find your own style and secret recipe. Keep that as a video sample that you can always reference in the future.

I have/had a small channel where I vlogged. The balance between making videos and living my life was one I could never find. I was thinking about videos all the time which caused me stress. Finally, I stopped (initially for a month) and even stopped watching RUclips for several months, and have not made a video since. My life is SO much more peaceful now and I can enjoy a moment of beauty without the constant urge of "I gotta film this!" I hope you find the answer for yourself. Your videos are beautiful. Life is so short - take care of your spirit! 🌱
