Proud to say that I'm a Tennessee fan...... I know we've had a easy schedule that was made years ago (and then got changed as a result of the SEC merger of OU and Texas.....) Can't hold that against us - It has kept us healthy and allowed us to work out the bugs for OU...... If you’ve watched what’s going on in our games…. We've been playing “VANILLA” on Offense and Defense with a sprinkle here and there as briefly as possible. BUT, I think we just have too many ways to score quickly...... 3 DEEP (Not just Sampson) in running backs and 6-7 different quality receivers..... We can just score too many ways.... Not to mention the D-Line that we have...... We may beat OU by 17-20 or more..... VOLS by 17+ ! GBO!

Welcome to the SEC, OK. ❤
You'll be fine. You will get over it.

This isn’t our older vols teams of the 2010s. The alignment is there with admin, HC, and all 3 phases. I think we are set up for a deep run. To quote Derek Dooley, the rest of the league “won’t have Tennessee to kick around anymore”

Hubbs is 100% on the money. No question, we have the more talented roster but do we have the physicality to impose our will against a team like OU in their house? How will our receivers respond when OU’s aggressive DB’s hold and they can’t get the separation they’ve had against inferior competition? How will the OLine handle pressure in a loud raucous environment? Will they jump early and get penalties? How does Nico respond when things do t go his way and his receivers can’t get separation?
This is going to be a real road test!

As long as our offensive line can keep Nico upright and he doesn't make multiple turnovers then we should win easily Oklahoma is not that good and they struggled with Tulsa and barely won that game at the end the only thing we have to worry about when it comes to Oklahoma is their defense

Believe Tennessee wins by at least 2 TD..don't think JHEUPEL is going to run it up late simply because he doesn't want Oklahoma look too bad on Nation TV so he pulls back in the 4th quarter by playing 3 string guys and Oklahoma scores at least couple late TD.😊

Resoding that field is a heck of a job. I imagine they'll have the best equipment available. The turf will take atleast 4 days for it not to move. If the seems aren't extremely tight, 10 days isn't enough time for the grass to grow into the seems. The grass is already going to be stressed, so it's not gona grow much for a week, until the roots are set. When the sod is watered, it helps set the grass faster; like the sod infuses woth the dirt but the seems Have to be Tight! And even if it is, I bet you'll still be able to see the seems from the box and on TV.
Normally you would wait 2 weeks until your first mow, but ive had it set and needing to be mowed in a week before. All of the process has to be managed meticulously. Lots of smart folks in the turfgrass facility on campus. Ive gotten faith in them.
Bermuda grass isn't growing at full strength right now either though ( I assume it's Bermuda). The days are getting shorter, and the grass knows it's about to go dormant.
No way I would've ok a concert 2 weeks before the game. I don't see the win? I know what the lose is. A bad looking field on the biggest stage and maybe somebody losing their job. Losing recruits because they don't wanta play on a horrible field that gona get then hurt. Losing a player for the season because it's not set and the seems aren't properly kept alive and creates bigger seems. Like the sod actually shrinks. What happens when manufacturer of the sod give you lots of bad pieces? You can't just cut alittle piece and fill the holes because that's gona create more seems and shrinkage and there's no time for the turf to fix itself with growth.
There's gona be lots of hand watering to keep the seems from shrinking and separating. What if the sod isn't extremely fresh and is starting to stress before you even put it down. You may not even be able to keep the seems alive.
The people walking on the turf, hand watering as well. Gotta walk backward as you water, so your not walking on the sod you just watered. Also lots of times you use sod stapes to keep the sod from move, so you keep your tight seems but I would imagine they can't do that and leave the staples in the ground either. Which imagine the rolls being big enough that their not gona move very easily once it's down and wet.
Man it would be my dream to change that turf and be successful at that challenge. So many people involved with anyone of them doing the wrong thing can be a disaster. The challenge would be exciting, but the stress sounds more like a nightmare. But you can't stress, do what you can do, and that's all you can do.
