- WOW! What a series ender, but we found out nothing more in regards to WHO Mrs. Flood is! Today I discuss why I think she is The MONK!

When people picked up on her outfits after the breaking the 4th wall about the TARDIS
For those that dont know Anita Dobson was in the BBC super soap East Enders and her range is amazing, Angel to Demon within a sentence. So if anyone can pull this off Dobson can, she gave a red carpet interview to the Radio times series 2 we will know who she is
what she's about but the way she worded it "We are currently on series 2 at the moment"
it sounded like she's there for series 3 also. Also her ominous warning about the Doctors Fate is this the first nod he's going to be a 3 series Doctor? RTD has confirmed the story of Ruby is not quite over so it must be about the snow. It was snowing around Mrs Flood
the only connection if the Doctor is going to lock horns with Mrs Flood is Ruby.
When he restored everything "You Clever boy" where have we heard that before ;)
Definitely super excited to see more of her, I didn’t know her acting history but RTD definitely seems the type to pick ppl who have shown great skill before, I just hope she’s not no one 😭 idk if I can handle that again!
I dont know anymore, after the last episode I fear it will be something utterly banale and stupidly unimportant.

Seen that one a lot! I think she’s not the master because we know currently they’re stuck in a tooth plot wise, but time is wibbley wobbely so you never know for sure!
@@whovianmess someone took the gold tooth at the end of the episode... just like when the Master wife took his gold ring with his... imprint inside. They do this on purpose. Only long time obsessed fans like us spots the similarity. Lol Master was ment to be dead for good after Missy and yet here we are. If she isn't the Master/Mistress, shes connected to him directly But that's just me. They do like to fake us out too.
@@glazierblue573 I just think having the master back so soon isn’t a fun idea tbh, I think RTD is trying to bring back/in older characters instead of relying on Daleks and Cybermen (and I really wasn’t done w/ Sacha as The Master) But of course all theories are valid until we see what was decided! I definitely remain strong in that she is certainly a time lord/knows the doctor very personally
@@whovianmess I completely agree with you. It would be to soon and honestly a bit fed up with the Master at this point. Like to think he has more imagination. I do hope your right. I guess we will see. Other theory. It could be that ruler of the time lords the doctor had exiled from gallifrey.

As much as I loved the idea of the story arc of Ruby Sunday so far (there is more to come), I do believe RTD dropped the ball on the season finale. It suffered from too many glossed over details, plot holes and poor writing. HOWEVER... People are still missing some very subtle clues throughout the series which sets up for Series 2. This doesn't involve Susan Triad directly, but does have some correlation to the theme.
Let me explain the background before my theory here: Throughout the series, we have been presented with Mysticism, Gods, The Rule Of Three (A Triad.. Also Witchcraft), The Universe, Family & humanity, Creation (Death, then Life). If we go back to Space Babies, we have had the miracle of "creation" and "birth" as in life, In Boom we have had the threat of "annihilation" and also the "resurrection" of Ruby after being shot. In The Devils Chord, we had Mysticism & Portent on an oncoming storm and trouble ahead.. including a god with a fear of what Ruby is (or is to become). In 73 Yards we had an alternative future where there was a threat to "humanity" from an antagonist and in Dot n Bubble, it was all consuming dread & death from being shut off from the "universe" in a bubble, but with someone watching over them.
The Legend Of Ruby Sunday pulled the majority of these themes together at a head. The Doctor's Pseudo Family in the form of UNIT, Ruby partially discovering her origins, mother and yet-to-be seen father. The existential threat of death, and resurrection & the mysticism of the Gods & Mrs Flood (yet to be fully disclosed).
My Theory:
Kate mentioned that Ruby's step-father was a wrong-un, NOT her yet-to-be-onscreen biological father, "William Benjamin Garnett".
A Garnett is a semi-precious stone which is a deep red colour, and was originally classed as a type of Ruby in ancient times (not now however).
Throughout the series there have been a subtle theme of shades of red - "Ruby" & "Cherry" Sunday, Mrs Floods "Pink" Jumpers, "Gau-de-te" from the Heckler, "Gaudete Sunday" ("Third" Sunday in Advent which is marked with "Pink/Rose" Candles marking the rejoicing of a saviour), Mel dressed all in Red & with Red Hair, "Rose" Noble and of course "Ruby" Road.
In terms of Gemstones there are only "Three" that possess a very special quality, a Ruby, a Garnett & a Sapphire. These possess a feature called an *ASTERISM*, which is a bright star-like occlusion of the same name, when held up to the light with a brilliance like the stars in the night sky.
An ASTERISM is not only confined to Gemstones, but also the Cosmos and Gods of Mysticism (also in reference to ASTERIA the daughter of the God of Witchcraft, HECATE which also means Star in Greek Mythology). In cosmology an Asterism is an observed pattern of stars in the night sky as perceived from the ground and is represented by Three Asterisks "*" in a Triangle (Triad) in written form. In 73 Yards, Roger apGwilliam (Son Of William) for a moment when he first met Ruby, looked at her strangely as if he recognised her, but not from where/when, also the realisation when he ran off. There is a possibility that (as ApGwilliam is still a fixed point in time and will occur in the 2040s), he is her Brother (Son Of William). He could have been looking for Ruby, hence the DNA Database at the time of his reign as PM to track down the Mother, potentially being guided by someone in the future to do so through manipulation.
The circumstances of why wont be yet apparent, however if we look at Mrs Flood, she appeared Ethereal & Slightly Malevolant like a God at the end of the episode, standing on the roof against the backdrop of the night sky and heavens. If we go back to the ASTERISM and HECATE, she is a God of the Night Sky and the Heavens and is also a Three Fold Diety, having Three distinct personalities (*As seen with Mrs Flood throughout the series), she is also the guardian of Doors/Portals,Crossroads of time and is said to possess the keys to creation but not able to enter heaven (So would need to tear down the gates of Heaven to get in). Mrs Flood stands guard over the goings on in Minto Road and her front door, watching and waiting... She also mentioned to Cherry if she was religious and would tear down the gates of Heaven as she had such plans.
When it comes back to the ASTERISM, I think Mrs Flood is the Three Fold Diety, and works in Three's as she needs to bring Ruby, her father & brother together for something much bigger and potentially malevolent, so is guiding and manipulating them until she gets what she want's and the Doctor is a hinderance of sorts. Even more interestingly though the term ASTERISM is also an anagram for "IS MASTER". The Master has summoned Daemons/Evil Gods before namely "Azal", so it wouldnt be past him to try this again, hiding away.
Wow, wasn’t sure where you’d be going with this but I definitely see your points! Is RTD this well calculated? Maybe, time will tell. But I definitely think this series being rooted in mystics connecting back to the Daemons would not be so far fetched considering RTD has already shown he wants to touch back on old villains
I also think Gwilliam is likely related to Ruby and hope we get his entire story, that’s my biggest gripe abt 73 yards, they introduced a really cool power hungry character and we saw all of 5 mins of him - really wanted his own story too!
Super excited to see if RTD actually made something this large scale or if he’s just getting coincidence after coincidence! But also, that too is a theme of the season! ahhh!! So much theory so little brain power

I reached the same conclusion but the depth and breadth of your theory makes me think I missed a lot of clues (or RTD is chuckling at us both!).

Nah, not the Monk. Well reasoned argument, but it doesn’t fit for me.
Great spots on the outfits though, I’m sure this will play into the answer somehow. She’s dressed like Romana when we last saw her, but has also dressed like other companions. She has basically quoted Clara with the “clever boy” line, but also said something similar to the Beast with the whole “tell your maker I’m coming to lay siege to the pearly gates”. She also seems a bit Missy/ Master with how whimsical she was about death and flits between different personalities.
Plus the reference to hiding away.
The Master was always a master of disguise...
Mrs. Flood as being the Monk is interesting. But not likely.

after Ruby's mother reveal, we should just take the writers hint and assume she's just a fan of the show and not important.
I’ve placed my mental bet on Pond … River … Flood, etc. but … since we are supposed to believe that her and Capaldi’s dinner was the last time they meet, that doesn’t really add up. Also, since we know that she used her remaining regenerations in Let’s Kill Hitler, she’d need to be an unseen earlier (pre-LKH) version that was still programmed to murder the Doctor … but that has somehow managed to get misplaced in time … but that too feels quite far-fetched to make any proper sense :-/

One thing I did notice in this last episode was how he didn’t acknowledge the fact it was him as his 4th regeneration in the video during the show

Not saying you're wrong but i'm still opting for a very specific incarnation of the Master.
She's not seen a 'police box' in 50 years and refers to a 'sixpence'. These references would both apply to the time we last saw Roger Delgado's incarnation (the sixpence has long since been discontinued).
My suspicion is that her questioning of her neighbours about the Tardis being present was disingenuous, her actual motive being to find out if any of them are aware of it's true nature and the Doctor's whereabouts.
Equally I suspect the dropping of her shopping bags when it dematerialized wasn't due to the shock of such a thing happening, rather the realization she may have just missed her chance for carrying out her schemes.
As such I suspect her to be a previously unseen incarnation, falling between Delgado and Peter Pratt's depictions.
With that said, Flood = deluge of rain = anagram of rain is Rani? (not to mention the apparent quotes and references to River Song).
And then there's all the teasing of Susan.
As for costume, beanie hats and body-warmers are fairly common items of clothing but the last outfit we saw her wearing bears an uncanny resemblance to Romana's, an outfit which until now was near unique.
I think Mr. Davies has included more red herrings than genuine clues so only time will tell...
I’ve seen other people say the master as well, and my only thing is they’ve already been mentioned and are in a tooth. So whoever picked up that tooth has the masters, but yeah RTD has just been throwing stuff all around so it could literally mean nothing that he happens to place the master there early on

With that said, if this is the incarnation immediately after Delgado they would have been trapped on earth for all of this time, oblivious to their dental fate.
