People need to NOT buy any skins, show DICE to not bother with that crap. but i know gamers have no dignity or no chill so that would never happen, they will buy and buy, making EA/DICE push that shit in all future games.
@@GodhandPhemto just don’t buy the game period. I cancelled my pre order. Not buying a game built around selling skins. Let it flop. Dice doesn’t deserve support anymore after bfv and now this. Its obvious they are trying to expand the audience without giving af about what their og players think.
I kept following squad and team mates that had an ammo icon above their heads, thinking that meant they were carrying ammo around! Felt like winning the lottery when you found an ammo box lying around!
so true, some people dont understand what kills the games fun. If we don't have the ammo ok give us at least more ammo so we don't go begging around for ammo. literally if the class system is killed then make it easier for us to carry at least 3-4 medkits and ammo bags at the same time and let us keep other gadgets so we can have everything at this point becuz there is no point in keep specialists as if they can act like a medic or ammo classes cuz no1 is playing any role, its just a solo role like cod
@@m.m14433 yeah thats a better idea honestly. or even just increase total ammo capacity or faster health regen cuz I don't see the point of waiting for random people to drop ammo or health
I can already see Portal might save this game if dice doesnt do anything with specialists. I feel like server owners will just change the character models to bf3 something like that.
@I eat butthole not gonna happen unfortunately, one of the devs on Reddit explained that they ended up making the movement faster to compensate for the larger maps. If the movement stayed like bf1/bfv it would take forever to get from point A to point B.
Been playing the BF franchise since BF1942...every game, every expansion pack, every DLC. Been there for the unplayable months of BF4, been there for the awesome BF1 release, been there for the huge lost potential of BFV. I've pre ordered every BF title since they started doing pre ordering, bought the deluxe versions of every game and premium passes. This will the first BF release I will not play day one. I won't touch this hot garbage gets until it gets sorted out, so possibly for at least 6 months. Specialists are going to ruin this game unless they really revamp it and I wish they had just stayed with the class system. I fully expect this game to be in the discount bin right after launch just like BFV was. There is way, way too much going on with this game. It's like a restaurant with a huge menu that everything is just mediocre verses a restaurant with a small menu that has amazing dishes. Breaks my heart, but I just can't do it. I'll wait until a PSV bundle comes out with BF2142 and only if it turns around.
Please tell me why you think bf5 had a huge lost potential. I really don’t get why people don’t give that game more credit then it is… I think the game is sensational. The mechanics, the cinematics, the sound… yeah there is some minor glitches that sometimes happens like any game but gameplay for me, I can’t fault it. So many people do though…. I don’t get it. I played bf2042 for 15mins and turned it off.. to me it’s just an updated version of bf4. More COD like. Wasn’t anywhere near what I thought it was going to be like. Mind you I didn’t like bf4 at all either. Think I was just excited to play something different knowing I would most likely be disappointed. Maybe when the full version comes out, might change my mind.
@@mickyaa1245 The missed potential with the "never seen before battles" crap and the SJW bullshit Soderland tried to push into the game instead of what we all wanted. There should have been Dday, Market Garden, Battle Of Britain ect with authentic looking uniforms and such. The game didn't come into its own when they realized they blew it and released the Pacific theater (which is awesome by the way) and have us what they should have done from the start. I think if they would have gone that route, the game would have would have been amazing. I still play it all the time and still will..I love BFV... I just wanted it to be so much more of what it could have been. Probably won't get 2042 until all the dust settles and only if it's fixed.
@@newmack5621 fair enough. Yeah a D day map would of been good. I suppose I don’t look into it finely with uniforms ect. I just think the gameplay can’t be beaten, alone with bf1. Watching a plane get taken out on iwo jima and exploding in front of you or hearing the flame thrower going off in the caves… awesome! Gets me everytime. I didn’t see this in the beta with this game. Nothing really excited me….. hopefully portal will make it better 😊
I’m sorry but the movement and gunplay in bf5 was so much better. Pretty much the only things that bf5 did right and they decide to scrap it all. It was so fluid and fun. Now we have COD lite. The tornado was awesome. The rocket launch was meh.
The tornado might become annoying and you see it to often after a few weeks so I think the chances of a tornado should decrease by 75% to make it a rare chance and have a better experience while seeing it

- Specialists KILLED Teamwork and gameplay, everyone is a one man army now. They need to be RESTRICTED to class roles, its idiotic to make the "recon" guy the anti tank guy or the Medic. - Player visibility is garbage, everyone looks the same and UI markers dont work half the time so people are constantly shooting teammates and get ambushed by foes who you thought were teammates until they got 5 feet away.
Possibility to change stuff on weapon at any moment and possibility to use all class weapon are the dumbest things ever ... just killing the signature of battlefield when you need a full squad with different class for have a good team. Now its solo playing and dont care of team mate
Unless they bring back the class system to the base game, paying full $60-$70 price for just Portal is not worth it. I think I Will wait till it goes down in price. Specialists killed it for me.
Yes the bugs will be fixed but the specialists aren’t going nowhere so this game isn’t for bf players, dice just found a way to capitalize on vanguard being hated by cod players to bring them in and sell skins to them
The entire Star Wars fanbase cried out for a class system when it was not present in Battlefront 2015. A Star Wars/Battlefield hybrid game... And DICE *the very same devs* had to implement one even in a new Star Wars game. IT SIMPLY WORKS. I can't see why on earth would DICE who should out of all the people know this best, develop a game BACKWARDS!? When they announced the specialists I thought they learned from Battlefront 2, and wanted to implement specialists, a LIMITED class on top of regular soldiers that are unlocked when you had a high enough score in game. Similar to Battlefront 2 enforcers. What we actually got is so much worse. As it stands at this moment this game absolutely honestly is a downgrade to battlefield 4 imho. Yes, bigger maps, new graphics and 128 players sound amazing on paper, but in reality BF4 is just a better game. When on discount it's $10 for premium (all dlcs). You get a lot of worth for your money. To cash out $60 or more for an unpolished, unfinished game, just isn't logical. Maybe not in the future, if Battlefield 2042 ages really well. We shall see. Battlefield 1 was great, I simply didn't enjoy the setting of ww old guns and vehicles. Gameplay wise it was superb. Didn't play BF5 (same reason) so can't say anything about it. I wished so, so much for a modern Battlefield 1 game. A Battlefield 1 like game in a today's setting, and I am severely disappointed in what we got. This just doesn't feel like Battlefield. If I wanted a COD game, I'd get one. I wanted a battlefield 3/4 successor, but I just don't see one :/
@@sujimayne Specialists are not the same as classes at all, because you are not forced to carry a class specific gadget like repair tool, or ammo. Only Falck is clearly a medic, but now anyone can carry any primary weapon, medbox, ammo crate, repair tool, motion sensor or rocket launcher, all the other classes are borked and so Specialists just have a fancy special gadget. They could be made to be more like classes, if Boris was forced to carry eg. a repair tool too, or Caspar was forced to carry a spawn beacon or motion sensor. But this was not how they have been presented in the beta. Don't be arrogant asshat; "Don't talk gamedev if you don't know gamedev" adds nothing to the conversation. A real gamedev would address the OP's valid points rather than shut him down saying "I'm a dev and you're not."
@@sujimayne "Specialists are the exact same thing as classes under the hood" You just further proved my point... Specialists should be as the name suggests SPECIAL, not a standard infantry class. Like Enforcers are in battlefront 2. Different naming similar concept. But here it's not. These should not be available to everybody at all times. I like classes as they are. Now everybody can be a sniper, medic with ammo bags or rocket launchers... What? Where is the balancing? Similarly to battlefront 2015 where practically everybody rocked one setup of cards (Shield, rocket jump, and healing) All class distinctions are out of the question if a single combination is found to be best, then everybody will use that.
That's exactly what I was hoping for, a BF1 quality level game in a modern setting or a true successor to bf3/4. That is not what this is, this is a full attempt at enticing the call of duty crowd and a slap on the face to previous fans of the title. This is obviously entirely designed for microtransactions. Ita a clear indication they favor the cash over the craft.
This is the death of BF as we knew it. There is no doubt that with innovation, there is also change. With competition, there is adaptation. With a strong desire of gread, there will be compromise. BF1 is probably the last game that held some of the Battlefield values. PTFO, team play, class roles and such. With a desire to appeal to COD players, Fortnite and Apex as well, Dice has sold its soul to rock'n roll. Although the devs have stated that they going back to the roots with this game, I am truly struggling to see where those roots are in this beta. Nothing feels like the ol' BF to me. I'm not gonna say why this game feels miles away from BC2, BF3, BF4, because its been said hundreds of times already here. I am truly TRULLY sad for this conclusion. I guess I'm stuck with BF4 for another 2-3 years.
Only if the game proves successful. DICE is absolutely horrendous at assessing their games so they always draw the wrong conclusions each and every time, but if the game flops - or struggles at least as Battlefield 5 did - then that should send DICE a pretty clear message that this is not on.
This morning I redownloaded BF3 and within 2 matches knew that I wanted nothing to do with 2042. The best word I can find to describe it is 'corny'. I had so much fun this morning, listening to the soldiers screaming stuff out and knowing what role everyone played. For a game that's a decade old it's hard to forget how much was gotten right and how disappointingly far from a successful formula they have strayed.
You are the typical Battlefield guy that circlejerk on reddit and live on old nostalgia. The gaming world have changed since BF4. Move on, jesus. It's honestly so fucking cringe.
Beta had no TukTuK!. Now we'll have to wait until November to find out if the TukTuk specialist gets a FLIR and incendiary loadout in what is clearly going to be the most OP vehicle in the game
Let's be honest, this Beta was horrible.. Enough for fun with friends, messing around and only in Battlefield moments, but other than that, total mess..
If they already have the future specialist made, they should just take 4 of them and stick them on the other team and go back to the OG class system. And going forward for each new specialist create 2 models for US and RU. Each new specialist should fit under one of the 4 classes. Problem solved.
Yeah and make the classes gadget what they're supposed to me. Medics need a medpack/defibs, engineers repair tool, support ammo crate, recon was honestly.fine being Casper or whatever
@@chips84 They can still monetize skins and other things and have the OG class system. If anything this would give them more money because now they have 2 characters they could make skins for every time they make a new specialist.
First off I actually enjoyed my frustrating play time with the beta 🙃 but I've still cancelled my preorder for BF2042, the specialist/classes need a overhaul, return to team play, return loadouts, scoreboard, UI, HUD, movement, gadget balance(grapple hook) and friend/foe identification are a few problems but what gets me is, didn't DICE or someone imply that the reason we were losing a campaign was so we could have a polished bug free game at launch? 🤔 I know bf2042 hasn't launched yet but jeeeeez not looking good imo. If bf2042 releases close to the beta state I don't think any new players will stick around as a new player trying to work as a team, find ammo, be revived, know what your damn objective is and who is an enemy and who's a teammate is so dam frustrating and non existent. I'll wait until release to here what people think and to see launch gameplay before I make my decision to buy or wait for future patches

The rest of you, if you preorder, don't complain when things go south. I wait until the game, reviews, and the gameplay videos are out. 👍❤👍
On Xbox/Microsoft you can buy COD points and other currencies, spend them, and then refund and get you’re money back. Just if you would ever want to abuse a refund loophole.
@@rwandanstarbux1494 They must fix the loophole like many other things in their broken games. Steam's refund policy is great, any other company should follow it and then it's up to the Game Studios to implement it correctly.
@@ST7GOLDTRIDENT The funny thing is, they almost never actually “review” your refunds, it’s always a bot, and you get 5 refunds a year. So, you basically get to spend 100$ 5x and get your money back each time yearly.
Most of the complaints I see are just how the game doesn’t feel like a BF game. I genuinely couldn’t care less, the only thing that matters to me is did I have fun playing it, yes, ok I’ll buy it. Everyone just wants a BF4 remaster, bf 4 is the best game in the franchise but I guarantee u even if they brought out a remaster people would still just play the original.
I think the specialist system needs a serious rework. The plus system is a gimmick. Helicopters need a ton of a work. Lots a problems tbh, but I won’t give up hope. BF games are always rough at launch, and DICE has always fixed them over time. Maybe I’ll wait a few months before buying it, idk.
There's absolutely no way they are gonna rework the Specialist system, as much as the community might argue. They chose to stick with their decision that specialists are available for both fractions, identical for both fractions (aside from an accent change) and have game changing equipment and abilities locked behind them. This is by far the worst way to implement Specialists (Modern Warfare for example did it really good where Specialists were tied to Fractions and had no benefit in using other than cosmetical and different takedown animations). That said, this isn't a simple issue that can be patched like a bug, rather the problem lies within the core gameplay. And that makes it so much more frustrating
I really hope more people recognize just how bad the air vehicles are in 2042. Never have I been so disappointed with vehicles in a battlefield game. The Heli’s and jets feel as if they aren’t effected by gravity and the UI for heli’s is a massive downgrade from previous games.
@TWISTED INTO TRUTH I don’t think the people that designed the vehicles in 2042 had any prior experience working on vehicles in previous BF games. They must have hired new devs to work on the vehicles because god they are horrendous.
Struggling to get a refund, this game is a joke for all BF vets, and a bad one. They did nothing portrayed in the trailer, looks like a generic fps with vehicles.
Guaranteed this will end up in the discount bin within a month or two just like BFV did. Then BFV got pretty good after the Pacific expansion, so I'll just stick with BFV for now. Maybe this will be good a year from now... Maybe
i'm playing bf3 instead. bf3 maps is the shit. u got big medium and small. rush conquest is so much fun on pretty much every map. close quarter and gun master is so fun aswell
Hated that beta. Hate the movement and the gunplay. Hate how ugly it is on old gen consoles. Hate the UI and the color scheme (this is something common to all modern-era BFs, though). Hate the fact that we don't have classes anymore, and the idea of a battlepass in a BF. I really don't see a future for this game. And I don't see a future for BF, or at least for Dice making BF.
And actually, I find really funny that BF tries to get a "lighter" movement feeling and a more nervous gunplay with this game, while CoD really added inertia and weight to their controls since Modern Warfare...
We about to get CYBER PUNKED AGAIN! ! I cancelled because it's not Battlefield. I will do EA trial on launch. Hazard zone will probably be free to play. That's why they not talking about it. If they were confident about game, why still have secrets. Like the Admiral said,"IT'S A TRAP"
I really like your stance on performance issues. It hasn't entered many creators' minds as they're blessed with really expensive hardware. I have a mid range pc and I was getting 75 fps on 1440p low. Really really sub standard. (2060 super, ryzen 5 3600)
Agreed, I have a 2070 Super with a 3600, and at 1440p was getting ~75-85 on Low preset, and on Ultra I was getting~45-55fps! That's not a huge difference, I was expecting more frames from a low preset... Ended up using a mixture of medium and High and targeting 60-67 fps. 😐 Neither CPU or GPU seemed to be getting utilised to their fullest all the time. Hopefully they get this sorted, and the final game has DLSS which would help too.
@@Guy_on_RUclips Honestly bud, I'm really unimpressed with the gameplay and mechanics of the base game so far. Doesn't feel like Battlefield to me personally. Couldn't care less about bugs and glitches as they will (hopefully 🤞) get fixed eventually. I am however very excited for portal. It sounds like exactly what I want, revamped versions of older games. I don't believe the base game is Battlefield atm myself. It feels like it's more designed to pull in some players from Cod or Apex with the gunplay and movement, Hazard zone sounds like it may be a play on a Battle Royale to catch Warzone and PUBG players. @@Guy_on_RUclips maybe thats because they consistantly ignore the community and do things that most people in the community never asked for. nobody asked for a hero shooter, nobody asked for you to be able to play with an assault rifle for every class, and nobody asked for the maps to look like it was designed for a battle royale mode.
@@Guy_on_RUclips why would you buy a game if your not going to like the main content in the game. at that point you may aswell not buy the game and just play older versions. like i said nobody asked for a r6 siege esque hero shooter and nobody asked for the maps to be designed like they were meant for a battleroyale game. i understand that they probably have a battle royale game mode or something similar but you shouldnt let how battle royale maps are designed change how you make regular maps for conquest, breakthough and so on so forth because it messes up the flow of the base game modes. the weapons i can get over as long as they make other weapons just as relevent as assault rifles.
@@Guy_on_RUclips not only that they changed the movement from the bfv movement which was a big improvement even though it needed some tweaking. why would you change a movement system that was argueably better than cods movement system to a cod like movement system. all you had to do was polish what you already had but instead you scraped it. they also still dont have a leaning system for an fps in 2021.

This is Codfield 1, they cut the heart out of Battlefield with this implementation, people love classes, vehicles with a learning curve and tight gunplay. Why Why WHY would Dice do this? in fairness its probably EA pushing to appeal to a far wider audience for increased revenue and therefore gambling on the intellectual property. My sole hope is Bad Company 3 comes out next and we return to grass roots.
for the UI its a tough one because it could just be the honeymoon stage where it takes getting used to but a good way to soften the hate around this is possibly giving the option for a UI similar to BF4 in the menu so if a player doesn't like the look of the new UI they have the option to go back to a familiar one. Another thing I haven't seen mentioned either is when downed it doesn't show the nearest Falck or squad member for a revive which just makes people chose to bleed out instantly, this is something that is a must for release.
I want to see more recent build to be assured if it's good. I think it would really help, as well as maybe let us try a little bit or portal to see if we can remdey certain aspects of the game, that may be hard to change.I understand it's an old build, ALTHOUGH we should know how well the game is doing now.

It was really fun in my opinion. After learning the vehicle controls, hopping into an attack heli with a buddy was awesome. They're not allowing themselves to have fun. We just need to chill.
Conpletely agree. I can easily see myself and my buddies have a lot of fun with this game. The beta was fun already, even if they have ommited a lot of features. People just want a BF4 remaster. And since they didn't get it, 2042 is shit.
Tbh the problems are quite serious. Ofc shooting people and exploding stuff is always fun in any bf game and in any FPS. People dont simply want a reskinn of bf4 they want the good things to be kept from that game and the flaws to be changed.
Exactly. All these folks judging beta as if it's the full game need to take a step back. If the full release comes out with hardly a difference, ok ill be disappointed.
When they first mentioned the +system I was interested in it, after the beta, not so much. Every time I tried a new weapon I'd have to go in and set it up using the +system and I usually ended up getting shot and killed by someone that just happened to be in the area where I was (thought I was far enough from the action). Now maybe that's my fault but I prefer having loadouts or at least let me setup my gun before I spawn like the old days.
You're absolutely right, it was terrible in the beta, but apparently the full release will have loadouts too, so you can spawn with a certain set of attachments pre-applied and gadgets set up. I guess this wasn't ready for the beta, the AK-24 even forgot what you selected between spawns, which was aggravating.
Very well said! Hit the nail on the head with every point! This is why I regard you as one of if not the best Battlefield channels out there. Extremely informative while remaining 100% honest!
I'm a big battlefield player since bf1, I absolutely loved bf1 and bfV (yes bfV is good), then I buyed bf4 last year and I liked it too, not that much but I liked it... But 2042, I'm sorry but it's kinda trash. OK it's an old build blablabla but the overall gameplay just doesn't feel good at all. And the specialists are a fucking disgrace to the franchise imo... We doesn't have the feeling of being a random soldier that is fighting for his country anymore, the team play is horrible, and 70% of the players play as Mackey which create a freaking spider man apocalypse. For now I really didn't liked the game, let's see the final release. Edit : sorry for my english guys, much love from France 🤞
I fully agree with you, the game would be a whole lot better if those damned specialists didn't exist. Really just goes to show it's all about money now.
Will be waiting for a sale on it before purchasing. Being that EA has coined this “ahead of schedule” tells me they are at final product before release this month and it’s far from ready IMO. Felt more like an Alpha than a Beta to me. By that time, maybe they will iron out some very serious issues that need addressing… that was also playing with an i9 and a 3080Ti in 1440P.
FYI the only reason why they added 3rd person takedown animations is so they can sell other takedown animations as microtransactions just like CoD What an absolute disgrace. Everyone, do Battlefield a favour and don't buy this game. If you still want this game, just wait until it is on a deep discount. Forking our money over to EA for this only encourages EA and DICE down the wrong path.
If it is then how on earth does it compete with the outstanding level of customization in recent titles? Tarkov set a new bar that CoD followed after wholeheartedly, even Insurgency Sandstorm to a minor extent. If the plus system is the only customization option we have then the loadouts are just not going to be fun to play. Crazy decision if it's true.
Its not the bugs im worried about its the whole Specialist situation that's a deal breaker for me as it is if that's not dealt with im in two minds which is a shame as movement , map size shooting mechanics and the feel is very promising to me
i feel like the movement was better in bfv alothough it needed more polishing. for instance being able to climb over a big fence/wall. jumping across from one building to the other and climbing up the ledge. the sliding up hills was really weird and you should only be able to slide downhill like apex and have a shorter slide on flat ground. the super sprint is kinda cool i guess but it doesnt seem like it has that much of a use other than looking cool and running slightly faster. they removed the garbage version of leaning that had for no leaning at all when you couldve simply made leaning like how it is in rainbow six siege. also the prone stance in bfv was better for instance laying on your back so you can change the location fo where your head is at. it feels like they just wanted to make the movement more similar to cod when in fact they already had a better movement system with bfv although it needed some tweaking.
@@aa-kz7hc I agree the movement in BFV was pretty good , for me the whole slide mechanic is something I wouldn't miss if it were gone , I just get wound up when I see people sliding about (yeah ive even started doing it lol ) it annoyed the feck out of me in BFV it looks stupid and unrealistic but I cant see it being removed
@@Stunl3y honestly i abused the shit out of the slide and i think that it needs to be toned down and some more skill needs to be added to it. for instance when going down hill you will get a long/fast slide but going uphill will get you a short very short slide and would be akin to jumping and just landing on your knees in dirt or something. while sliding on flat ground should be somewhere in the middle.
great review, love the honesty. Personally I cancelled my preorder after playing the beta, for mostly the same issues you mentioned (lack of classes, lack of teamwork, shittiest helicopter controls i've ever seen). I'd love to buy it again after release if i see these issues have been fixed.
Played the Beta on Xbox Series X, I know it’s a beta but it was a stinking mess. It was until about an hour or so before the event closed I found a load out I enjoyed. For me the gun-play was dreadful, it’s a very “whoever shoots first kills” experience. The reaction time was too slow. The whole specialists debacle made the whole thing worse trying to figure out which Boris or Casper was shooting at you was blood boiling. How can a company with so much history in creating these types of games just make such bizarre decisions on new titles, learn from the past! Iterate and innovate, no need to ever start from scratch.
Don't Normally Comment on anything really, but I thought out of all the reviews I have watched since the end of the beta, yours has seemed the most genuine by a long way. I wont be pre- ordering. Had a few fun moments here and there but just all felt off for me and far too many negatives. Hoping Portal will be the selling point for me but my faith in Dice after them ditching BFV and the direction choice in this one its not filling me with confidence. Thanks for the video sir for sure earned a sub from me!
I felt like the inclusion of bots was a.missed opertunity to bring command mode back. They could have added random bots to the maps much like battlefront 2 and had a commander be able to give the bots orders like a rts game since normal players don't like being told what to do but bots are happy to follow orders.
@@toddblankenship7164 i didnt play beta, but killing bots doesn't sound satisfying to me. its quite the opposite, lets say u get a nice killstreak, but it feels less like an achievement when half of the kills were just bots. the other way round tho, when i ever get teabagged by a bot after knifing me, id shut my console down faster than light. im getting mad just thinking about that 😅
An example of why those visuals identification are important would be for lets say you flank a enemy squad knowing who is for example de medic is critical take him down to reduce the changes of enemy down players get revive. Or let’s say you are in a tank and a squad rushes you, a valid strategy is to take the engineer and the recon as both can cause the most damage to you. Specialist take that away the way they’re designed right now.
Here are my 25 cts: Ammo problem could be resolved by implementing ammo stations. About the weapon configuration system. It could be really amazing if it was combined with the loadout preparation from bf4. You would prepare the attachements you bring to a fight and choose them on the run. I would then buff it so that it would take time like 3 sec per attachement to prepare the weapon. That would be an amazing feature. I do not think the specialist are awful so lets just see what they have planned for them. That being said, they need to visualize the factions.
I preordered and I want my money back. Complete waste of money. Trash. Quickly thrown together by inexperienced builders. The failures are already so obvious.
If Dice allow the grappling hook to be used as a teleport device and not just for getting to the tops of buildings i wont be buying the game. What next red door portals or wormholes?
i got 122 fps on 2070 super with mediums, never dropped under 100 fps and i have i7 8700k cpu. As long as i remember battlefields have been cpu heavy games
I’d go for a smaller map size if it had more density and unique architecture. Like a 5 story building ( out of several variably sized architectures on a landscape ) having ALL levels accessible and furnished to a believable degree just as an example. I also, in tandem with the reduction in map sizes , am okay with lowering player counts if it meant the experience would improve per engagement. Destruction seemed to have taken a back seat to what use to be one of the pillars in the franchise since Bad Company . It almost feels like an afterthought . It’s one of the thing i figured Dice would improve upon not scale back and reduce . Taking out structures felt like a viable tactic for weeding out enemy strongholds. Now it seems like it’ s applied to a limited degree. Maybe it’s just the one map in the beta but I have not seen much of out side of quick edited videos that are probably just the semi “ scripted “ events .
I cancelled my pre-order after testing out the beta and it’s a farewell to 2042 I really didn’t enjoy it overall, the sound effects are similar to BF5 which I hate the most as it reminds me of it. I’m sad as a battlefield old fan, been waiting for nothing.
I am honestly rlly excited for bf 2042 I really like this new bf with all of the new changes DICE have made in my opinion this bound to be one of there better games.
The biggest thing that needs to change is the COD animations for taking dogtags is trash. Same with the running . Remove it and it's battlefield not bsttlecod
I kinda like this attachements system, but i think they need to go further with it. Be able to choose what attachements you want before the game ( like 2 differents sight, 2 differents grip, 2 differents barrels) and you can only swap between theses ones the entire game.
Played the beta on the ps4 and was so disappointed I refunded the pre order. Won't even consider it until I get a ps5. RIP to all last gen users who get this game thinking it will perform well.
I would really want to say what i think about the game but it’s probably going to take a 4-5 page essay, but it does not matter anymore, i just dont like the game and the direction they are taking so I stopped caring, i just hope portal does not disappoint because that is what every bf player actually wants and where ill be spending my time in.
My ideal Battlefield feel for gameplay, and general satisfaction. I want the movment system of bfv, and gun play of bfv, The controls for bf4, and the customization of bf hardline and 4 with 4s loaddout system and hardlines guns bench customization leveles., the general multi-player character battlechatter, like a.guy would see his squad lead die and yell out "the sarge is down sh!t", the ui of bf4, and the sound quality of bfv. Lemme know your opinions!
Honestly, I was disappointed in the level design. It was too sparsely populated, and the structures and landscapes were rather simplistic and uninspired. It seemed more or less thrown together from a checklist: Rocket: check Skyscraper: check Boxy buildings full of boxes: check Impossibly large sniper-bait runway: check Tunnel under runway that serves no obvious purpose: check Strategically Irrelevant and largely ignored objectives to fill the oversized map: check Fake looking origami Birds: check How about this? Underground railway between the skyscraper and rocket to funnel players into CQC. Interesting river valley running between A and F, instead of the huge boring open hillside.
Haven’t bothered looking into it but I am curious how many people from BFV have left. The decisions made during that game were so absurd that their presence alone is enough to give me concern. Regardless, this game very much smells like a bf4esque launch and some of the design choices I think are problematic. Skillup’s review of the beta just came out and I think he did a good job of pointing out some of the missing sounds which made the beta feel off.
We shall see when we reviewers get there hands on the FULL retail game. Me...I had a blast in the beta bugs and all. Hope it gets ironed out before launch.

Right! The transactions system never seams to have any bugs or functionality issues 😆😆😂😆
i wouldn't be surprised if portal and hazard zone won't be available at launch.
People need to NOT buy any skins, show DICE to not bother with that crap. but i know gamers have no dignity or no chill so that would never happen, they will buy and buy, making EA/DICE push that shit in all future games.

I can already see Portal might save this game if dice doesnt do anything with specialists. I feel like server owners will just change the character models to bf3 something like that.
Honestly I think that’s gonna happen in most servers

I really don’t get why people don’t give that game more credit then it is…
I think the game is sensational.

Specialists are the exact same thing as classes under the hood. Don't talk gamedev if you don't know gamedev.
To add to your point, I recently bought premium for 4$ on my new account and that is 100% worth the money for ALL of those dlcs.
Similarly to battlefront 2015 where practically everybody rocked one setup of cards (Shield, rocket jump, and healing)
All class distinctions are out of the question if a single combination is found to be best, then everybody will use that.
Jumping to conclusions way too early. Stop being negative

I just wanted an improved bf4 :,(
We about to get CYBER PUNKED AGAIN! ! I cancelled because it's not Battlefield. I will do EA trial on launch. Hazard zone will probably be free to play. That's why they not talking about it. If they were confident about game, why still have secrets. Like the Admiral said,"IT'S A TRAP"
I know this looks bad but this is how all are our favourite battlefield games started
Helicopters don't fly like helicopters
I was getting the same performance on a 3060 Ti and Ryzen 3600XT @4.2Ghz
What's the problem with Call Of Duty Warzone 2042?
Oh eh I mean battlefield
I saw someone on a discord rename it "Call of Apex: 2042" 😂
@@Guy_on_RUclips
Honestly bud, I'm really unimpressed with the gameplay and mechanics of the base game so far.
Then Portal is for long time players mostly.
An interesting tactic but the phrase jack of all trades... comes to mind.
This is alll my opinion of course and others won't agree, but it's the feeling I get so far tbh 🤷♂️.
I am actually super disappointed ,Maps too big , class system missing , no immersion, no team play , 3rd person execution, gun play , sniping doesn't feel as good as BF1 , bugs , weird UI and so on . Glad i didn't pre order , waiting to see final release before deciding and probably will wait until all of that crap gets hopefully fixed .
Remember when a preorder was done to make shure you could get a copy in the shop ;)
It looks like a game for kids. I miss the path they took while making Battlefield 1. 2042 is like a combination of Fortnite and CoD. Not for me, I'm too old for games like this.

I'm starting with Uncharted and farcry 5, and I've got some indy too so I think for a while I'm ok!
The only hope is EA going bancrupt.
It would be a golden age for the industry if that happened. 🤞

To be fair, campaigns in BF don't exist since BF1...
Id pay no more than a price of a cheap cup of coffee for this garbage.
@@gethplatform2392 that's one of the reasons I don't own bf1 and bfv
@@gethplatform2392 the war stories were good in bf1 then trashy in bfV in my opinion
for the UI its a tough one because it could just be the honeymoon stage where it takes getting used to but a good way to soften the hate around this is possibly giving the option for a UI similar to BF4 in the menu so if a player doesn't like the look of the new UI they have the option to go back to a familiar one.

I pre ordered the 100 bucks edition back when it was announced. after this alpha and beta I canceled my preorder.
Remember people, it'll probably drop on EA Access a month after release.
AKA-ART: 1080p60fps should be the absolute minimum
PS4 Port: 720p30fps and you best be fucking grateful for it or we will drop it to 24.
It was really fun in my opinion. After learning the vehicle controls, hopping into an attack heli with a buddy was awesome. This is a 2 month old build on a single map with a single gamemode...ofc its going to be slightly shit. A lot of the critiques I see people giving are, "its not a reskinned bf4 clone therefore its bad"...Im optimistic and just genuinley excited to have a new bf game to play with my buddies. Even if its not the best game ever, its going to be fun. Plus portal will be epic too. People are too worried about the game not being fun or not meeting expectations to the point that every cool or fun thing is completely ignored because they're almost searching for all the bad.
Wait until Full release, and decide it yourself
Exactly. All these folks judging beta as if it's the full game need to take a step back. If the full release comes out with hardly a difference, ok ill be disappointed.
I preordered then canceled it. I need to see some serious improvements before this is a Battlefield that I’d enjoy playing the hell out of.
True, that and the abysmal spawns made me lose my shit

Thanks for being honest and not sugarcoating anything! Great review.
I wish people would stop pre-ordering :( I haven't pre-ordered since BF1 now.
something i feel could work, is that you display gadgets next to someones class icon if its something like healing or ammo
Love it. That deep thought process. All the small things make the big things
FYI the only reason why they added 3rd person takedown animations is so they can sell other takedown animations as microtransactions just like CoD
What an absolute disgrace. Everyone, do Battlefield a favour and don't buy this game. If you still want this game, just wait until it is on a deep discount. Forking our money over to EA for this only encourages EA and DICE down the wrong path.
Not sure why I thought the Plus System was an addition to the classic loadout system and not a replacement for it
If it is then how on earth does it compete with the outstanding level of customization in recent titles?
Art your getting close to that 200k!
Cancelled pre order. When they decide to get real I'll buy it after release.
great review, love the honesty. Personally I cancelled my preorder after playing the beta, for mostly the same issues you mentioned (lack of classes, lack of teamwork, shittiest helicopter controls i've ever seen). I'd love to buy it again after release if i see these issues have been fixed.
Answer : preorder
Bots were the worst thing ever for me. Just so bad and no fun.
@@toddblankenship7164 i didnt play beta, but killing bots doesn't sound satisfying to me. its quite the opposite, lets say u get a nice killstreak, but it feels less like an achievement when half of the kills were just bots.
the other way round tho, when i ever get teabagged by a bot after knifing me, id shut my console down faster than light.
im getting mad just thinking about that 😅
This is a "wait for a sale" game to me.
FACTS .
Here are my 25 cts:
Ammo problem could be resolved by implementing ammo stations.
I like the vehicle dropdown menu because it prevents other players from taking a heli. If they dont think about it they wont pick it.
If it appeals to cod players, then yes
They can keep the plus system I guess, I’m fine with it but maybe they can let us select a certain attachment loadout before we spawn
Dice will never fix the class system because it was removed to make way to sell us specialists.
In defense of the bots. You sometimes also have human teammates who stand in a corner and shoot the wall😂
Rofl...i have seen these people...
They should add 4 of the OG classes as specialists.
i got 122 fps on 2070 super with mediums, never dropped under 100 fps and i have i7 8700k cpu.
Should you buy? NO.
Thanks, see you next time.
The biggest thing that needs to change is the COD animations for taking dogtags is trash. Same with the running . Remove it and it's battlefield not bsttlecod
I'll wait till the first big patch
I kinda like this attachements system, but i think they need to go further with it. Be able to choose what attachements you want before the game ( like 2 differents sight, 2 differents grip, 2 differents barrels) and you can only swap between theses ones the entire game.
Played the beta on the ps4 and was so disappointed I refunded the pre order. Won't even consider it until I get a ps5. RIP to all last gen users who get this game thinking it will perform well.
10:32, you got sniped out of heli ? good points btw throughout the video. I really miss classes and kit pickups....
It seemed more or less thrown together from a checklist:
Rocket: check
Skyscraper: check
Boxy buildings full of boxes: check
Impossibly large sniper-bait runway: check
Tunnel under runway that serves no obvious purpose: check
Strategically Irrelevant and largely ignored objectives to fill the oversized map: check
Fake looking origami Birds: check
How about this?
Underground railway between the skyscraper and rocket to funnel players into CQC.
Interesting river valley running between A and F, instead of the huge boring open hillside.
Im in no rush to get it id rather wait a few month theres 2 or 3 games Id rather buy first that are coming out next month
The graphics on PS4 looked no better than BF4.
