      @Vin Delanos Ehhh, not exactly there buddy. This particular order of animals has been around for 450 MILLION years. Has humanity been around for that long? Have primates even been around for that long? Have MAMMALS been around for that long? The answer is no. Life is constantly evolving and changing and this is an example of a species that has stayed relatively the same for so long. Do some research before you go talking trash because you're the one who looks like an idiot. Also maybe have a rip and chill :D

    As for those who are sooo concerned about the horseshoe crab's existence, maybe you want to do a little research before you start commenting. There are four species of horseshoe crabs and I bet the ones who are leaving hateful comments cannot identify which one she is using in the video. Lol. We also eat fish eggs and others. the average horseshoe crab carries around 120,000 at a time. when released into the water table they tend to end up being consumed by smaller creatures or whales before they grow large enough to make it to the sea floor and then they have to deal with animals that hunt for shelled animals.

      Except for the mangrove horseshoe crabs because they have tetrodotoxin which is 1200x more potent than cyanide
      And only 2 milligrams is the lethal dose of tetrodotoxin
      Tetrodotoxin blocks your sodium channels resulting in neurons not receiving electrical signals

I've eaten molecrabs/sandfiddlers before, even some insects and forage wild plants quite often but never even thought of horseshoe crabs and I live right near the ocean... you are AWESOME Sros ! Your ingredients, dedication patience and meal are all so beautiful Thanks for doing what you do on RUclips here ! It's much needed quality stuff.

    So i do love crabs. I've never had or even seen a horseshoe crab cooked and ate. So i guess I'm the only one that felt the need to throw up when she said "It look so yummy". But I'm pregnant soooo 🤷🏽‍♀️ maybe that's it. And where is the meat? All i saw was eggs and mesh.

    From what I heard horseshoe crabs are closer relatives to spiders, so technically speaking she’s eating a large spider, nice 👍

    • @paulfoss5385
      @paulfoss5385 3 года назад +16

      We're more closely related to starfish than we are to squid, that doesn't make us starfish. While horseshoe crabs are more closely related to spiders than they are crabs, they aren't even arachnids, instead both arachnids and horseshoe crabs belong to the clade prosomapoda, which in turn belongs to the arthropod phylum which also contains crustaceans such as crabs.
