===Description=== Ms. Pac-Man is a 1982 maze arcade video game developed by General Computer Corporation and published by Midway. It is the first sequel to Pac-Man (1980) and the first entry in the series to not be made by Namco. Controlling the title character, Pac-Man's wife, the player is tasked with eating all of the pellets in an enclosed maze while avoiding four colored ghosts. Eating the larger "power pellets" lets the player eat the ghosts, who turn blue and flee. From Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ms._Pac-Man If you want to know more about the history of this game, read the Wikipedia page. This is a speedrun, the speed not the score is important. I tried to eat as few ghosts as possible. I only ate them when they were in the way. If you want to see a real player eating all the ghosts and fruits and playing till the kill screen, go here: ruclips.net/video/kiV755n8BSk/видео.html This video is over 4 hours long. ===No invincible cheats were used=== It's relatively easy for the TAS to harmlessly pass through a ghosts. The trick is frame and pixel perfect, so it's not easily usable in real life. This happens because collision detection is not at the pixel level. The collision detection works by keeping track of what 8x8 pixel square all the objects are on. So if you step off of your square onto a ghosts square and he steps off his square and on to yours simultaneously you didn't ever occupy the same square. Thus, there is no collision detection when Ms. Pac-Man is not in motion. The fruit will "walk" through you. You can see it at level 19 (14:06) and 23 (17:29) -On level 28 I did a double ghosts pass through (22:28) 😀 -Eventually the red ghost becomes faster than the player and is very annoying. One way to get rid of him is to change direction at the last moment when he's about to collide with the player, as shown at level 24 (18:34) and 25 (19:59 ) -At least the other ghosts are not faster than the player but just as fast as him (as far as I can tell), so by cutting corners you can get a bit ahead of them. -I've tried to do a few levels without the "pass through ghosts" trick but sometimes it's too tempting not to use it. I hope you won't think that I used this trick too much. Note that I didn't use the trick everywhere I wanted, sometimes it's hard even for a TAS to find the right spot. After watching this video, we understand why good players don't play like that. The game is really difficult after level 20. Ever notice that there's been very little Ms. Pac-Man stuff over the years even though she's canonically the playable character with the strongest connection to Pac-Man? You can thank this game. There was scuttlebutt that making the character a glamorous woman (well, as glamorous as a little yellow disk can be) was intended to help sell a brutal quarter-muncher, and _man,_ was that assessment on the mark. I think I made it past the second level like, once, _ever._ Never mind nonsense like random moving fruit and wrap tunnels failing to slow down ghosts at a certain point. The vast majority of us needed the speed boost to have even a fighting chance. Anyway, it's nice to have a TAS to illustrate what it took to succeed at this game, that being "way, way too much".
Thank you for another fantastic TAS, and the explanations! 😀 There is one game, I would be very curious, if it can be finished with a TAS run. It's *Crime Fighters* (Konami 1989) - the US version (where you constantly lose energy). Both loops, including the Boss stage, should be nearly impossible with one player... I've finished the World 2Pl version on 1CC (which is much easier) with a friend of mine in 89' (and in 1Pl mode on 2 credits), but the US version is absolutely ridiculous..

I love how detailed your descriptions are, explaining all the quirks and even time stamping them. Thank you

Crazy how the power pellets get less effective over time to the point where they just flat out don’t work

From Crazy Otto to Ms. Pac-Man
You know what I want to see? A TAS of Pac-Mania where the goal is to squeeze as many points as possible out of each stage.
Some sick booeys in there
And that Powered Pellet is very less effective in terms of short amount of time.
Ms. Pac-Man = The Non-Japanese arcade direct sequel of Pac-Man
NAMCO Ms Pac-Man (1982)
Miss pac man lore is crazy ngl. But good video.
Fun vid, but I'd like to see a TAS that does not rely on booeys! Pretty much requires "long waits" though once you get to the slow boards.
Thank you for another fantastic TAS, and the explanations! 😀

Awesome job!
How did you bypass the enemy? That's impossible.
1:19 act:1 they meet
3:36 act:2 the chase
6:51 act:3 junior
Sus at 1:02
HOW DO YOU GO THROUGH THE GHOST
It’s called a “booey”. It has to do when ms pac and the monsters occupy the same pixel at the same time.

Wack. You have it rigged
sometimes the dot munching sounds like mr. krabs walking
not that heard when you are cheating!!
