Looking good Like those headers thinking about fender well headers for my 65 El Camino My motor is going to the machine shop today . All my parts are here now even the lifters they said it would be August 9 but I got them yesterday . Keep up the good work You would be a good teacher !! I know I am learning a lot. Keep those videos coming thanks Steve. Have a good weekend.
1205.5 intake gasket are apparently unicorn gaskets,, Lol. Lookin good Tack, Oliver's lookin good, The fenderwell headers look wicked kool bruh, Get those rear tires turnin and barking.
Those headers give it a real bad ass look good job installing the engine with breaking plugs or distributor I at least broke one plug lol can't wait to hear it run in the car
I used to use 1205 and exacto knife to fit, that got me a tiny bit more gasket but what you did should be fine tooI always do a thin silicon cuz if you don’t it’ll suck oil on the bottom side. 👍👍
I’ve had to do that before as well. But the 1206 seemed like it should be fine. I hope the thin coat of silicone trick works. I guess we will see. If not I’ll go to the 1205 and exacto knife trick…..🤷♂️ Thanks for watching and commenting!!!!!
You know Steve, when you move to Colorado to run our auto program...... you are gonna wish you didn't delete the heater. Also, the flip flops may not work for you here :)
WHAT DID YOU PAINT YOUR HEADERS WITH NICE COLOR / NICE RIDE I HAVE A 63 CHEVY 2 SS ALL ORIGINAL / JUST DROPPED MY 400 SBC MSD POWERGLIDE TRANSBRAKE / HAVE SAME HEADERS UNCLE GAVE THEM TO ME FROM HIS 65 NOVA HOOKER HEADERS ...
It’s actually not paint. It’s aluminum spray coated. I had a buddy in San Diego do it. It’s like a spray gun that you put aluminum in. It melts the aluminum and sprays it like a paint gun. It never comes off. You can’t scratch it. It will last forever. It’s pretty cool.
Love the video love the build is that a 6 inch rod engine? I have a stock rod 406 shoŕt block and it has a scat crank I'm looking into a set of rods and pistons ìf I don't go that way I'm going to buy a complete 421 rotating assembly from skip white. Tell me if this sounds right to yoù I brought the number 1 piston up to top dèàd center I don't have a deck bridge but I used a set of feller gauges and the piston is down in the whole about 0.40 thousands does that sound about right to you? Any help would be appreciated thanks fòŕ the video.
No. This 406 has 5.7 inch rods (350 rods). Scroll back on my page. I did several videos on this engine. It had an oil pressure problem. In my blue wagon. I pulled it out. Took it apart found the issue. Rebuilt it and ran it on my test stand. .040 thousand in the hole is a lot. With the head gasket on top of that. That’s going to be real low compression. A stock 400 rod is 5.565. I wonder if those pistons you have are for a 5.7 rod…….🤔🤔 look for a part number on the pistons and look them up. I’d double check it if I were you. Good luck!! Thanks for watching and commenting!! I really appreciate it!!
Bro you are a wealth of knowledge 😜. Thanks for sharing, 👍 AND GOD BLESS ALL 🎉🎉
Wow man thank you!! Very kind words! Thank you for watching and commenting!!
I can't believe you got it in there with the spark plugs installed. I would have broke some of them. Good job.
I like to live life on the edge!!! lol.
I wish all headers were that easy to install. Can't wait to hear it run!
I agree!!

Thank you!!! I really hope I fixed the vacuum leak and it runs better than it did on the test stand!!! I guess we will find out soon!!
Awesome job Steve 🎉😊
Thank you!!
Don't forget to throw in some subframe connectors. A healthy 406 is certain to twist up that unibody after a few good whops on it.
Oooh most definitely!
