As a Brit it was way too easy to guess that she was British lmao

I’m a British teen, I’m disgusted by all the others. Promise we aren’t all like this.
if the kid is part of a minority you can report it as a hate crime

People are more likely to seek justice with an online crusade than actually stick up for a kid in person.

its crazy that someone literally being assaulted has become a meme
No, it isn't. The Internet generally revels in cruelty of other human beings if some find it "amusing".

me getting beaten by others was a "joke" in the early 00s at my school...got relentless beaten, my arm broken, harmed by fireworks and almost drowned...all for the amusement of others... shit like this is happening for the longest time. back in the days less people would see/ hear about it, because no social media existed and people wouldnt admit to their crimes on camera/ show their crime to everyone...
Someone? No, this is entirely based on the fact that he is a boy. If the genders were reversed, or even if they were both the same gender, the older person would have been arrested.
This entire situation feels like a microcosm of everything awful about social media: the filming of an awful event going viral, the mob mentality of everyone trying to gang up on the girl, the unverifiable details and lack of concrete answers, the twitter bots, the poor taste/too soon memes making light of the situation etc etc etc…
…just kinda sad when you actually think about it all.
And the people standing around and recording instead of doing anything
Yeah it really sucks how people GENUINELY wanna seek out her house and curbstomp her as if that would make the situation better, like I feel like the people who would be willing to do that are much more interested in being given a "Bad guy" outlet to express their violent urges without feeling any guilt than anything else.
Like I think her being Curbstomped would probably make trying to be better a lot more difficult.
@@wetsocks4460 If Lexi was a man you would okay with him getting curb stomped for attacking a little girl.

A "meme" doesn't always have to be a joke.
The definition of "meme" includes any singular idea/thing that becomes widely iterated upon.

A lot of it is reacting to the reactions. The best example is that a lot of the very same people who were posting just a couple of weeks ago about how much of a pacifist they are, and "could never possibly join" if WW3 started, are now in a blind rage saying how they'd beat this girl "and her whole squad" on their own. Hi Lessons in Meme Culture. This is Louie Ryes, treasurer of Angels’ Castle (npo based out of Cincinnati, Ohio for young adults with intellectual disabilities).
Thank you for reporting on this story. Whether the poor boy in your video had Autism or not does not change the fact that what Lexi did was wrong and horrible.
Unfortunately, research shows that people with intellectual disabilities are more likely to receive maltreatment, abuse, and bullying. Experts believe that this is a factor playing in to how people with Autism Spectrum Disorder are 4x more likely to be depressed than typical people.

Ok, so, they're these videos of 14 year old bullies ganging up on an8 year old, and because I'd assume everyone who is terminally online was beaten up as a child they are dehumanising and wishing horrible death upon a 14 year old child.
In order to justify the hate, they made up that the kid they're bullying has autism and/or died of his injuries even though he's only been beaten the shit out of.
It could be argued he was ""assaulted"" but so much as in his "injuries" are result of typical child fighting, like, they do throw him in the pavement but she doesn't bash his head and step on it nor anything like that, calling it "assault" gives it the implication the video is some form of snuff or some shit while it is not quite that as far as I could find.

Man. People seriously are messed up online. Of course, nobody knows enough about the situation to properly make a judgement on the girl, and something like that is bad but context is key. But it’s absolutely awful of how it went viral and now people are simply having fun playing the internet police by sending threats and saying horrible things all in the name of “justice”
Who knows what will happen to the girl after all this stuff online. People may say it’s deserved, or it’s unforgivable. But in this situation both sides feel really icky and I’m afraid of what will come out of this.
so, what do you suggesting to do instead? reporting to police about this and ask them to jail the girl? they will not, so how to punish her then and make her pay for her actions? she literally took someone's life and you think she deserves to live after this? do you understand that if someone behave themselves that way and committing such things, they will repeat it again and more people can be harmed? at the very least she should be completely isolated from society for ever.

Disappointed in 'Lessons in' for this video honestly for several reasons:
1) Basically no one is calling this a meme. I don't know why Lessons In decided to take a viral trend and made a video going "this is thing I just decided is a meme is a disturbing thing to be a meme". Seems very self-inflicted and counterproductive.
2) A little bit of research on this shows how all references to this being a meme come from Lessons in & related pages. This comes across like piggybacking off a disturbing viral vigilante movement by slapping the meme label onto it, rather than a genuine call out of a "disturbing meme"
3) Even ignoring the first two points, making a video that exposes more people to the situation smacks of being extremely counterproductive. Literally, do you not see the incongruity in making a video that goes "this meme shouldn't exist, so here's a video that validates that it a meme"? If you genuinely thought that, you should've just ignored it, and not given it a "meme" status by making a meme video about it. This just reeks of piggybacking for clicks, and basically doing a poor job of hiding that behind a vale of "calling out the meme".
@lolithighs This is not remotely what they said
@lolithighs If there was a a murder that was trending worldwide, and Lessons In decided to do a meme video saying how immoral is for a murder to be meme, I'd say the same exact thing. The point is that they pulled this being a meme from their own backside. It's either a ploy for clicks, or to look self-righteous by inventing a problem that doesn't exist. Can't be explained as anything but one of those. If they really thought this wasn't worthy of being a meme, they wouldn't invent that it is by making it into one with their own video. It's completely illogical and nonsensical
A meme is not strictly a joke, in the most broad sense a “meme” is just an idea that spreads between people, joke or not. There’s a field called “memetics” which uses the word “meme” like this.
Yeaa bro meme doesn't jusy mean "funny joke on the internet" lol. Everyone is widely discussing this, creating their own variations of jokes, pictures, callous etc all centered around the subject of "Lexi Bonner" that's what makes it a meme. Not bc people find it funny or whatever

From what I know, Lexi is a 14 year old girl who absolutely beat tf out of an 8 year old autistic boy. The first video shows the boy playfully tapping her, to which she reacts and runs after the boy. The next few videos are him getting kicked in the ⚽️’s getting his legs sweeped and falling on pavement, the girl standing and his legs and not letting him get up, and finally a video of her kicking him over and over.

@@TheUltimateShade667 Going by that logic, anything and everything online that is widely accessible to the public is a “meme” regardless of its cultural relevance so long as that information is being spread through imitation, which is a non sequitur.
But what I’m seeing doesn’t fall into that description of a meme, it’s more like the new age interpretation of the word “an image, video, piece of text, etc., typically humorous in nature, that is copied and spread rapidly by internet users, often with slight variations.”
The video of the girl assaulting the boy isn’t informative, it’s not even reliable in its own telling of the events, it’s just recorded assault made to take the piss because nobody has anything better to do with their time.

All high school kids are egging people on to fight or they won’t be in the friend group and no kid wants to be an outcast or you have to be pretty or you have to have this this and that as soon as it comes out it’s beyond messed up. Lexi and this boy his name is Alex he went up to her and tapped her asking if he can hang out with her and her mates she said yeah and then they was messing about and she made it a serious altercation she started hitting him, throwing him on the ground after picking him up by his clothes. She stood all over his ankles, kicked him in all kinds of places and even in his balls saying he won’t have kids laughing with her friends who are recording the Incident. Alex’s mum said that he isn’t dead, he isn’t in the hospital, he is just badly bruised and scared to leave his house. That is all the info apart from that Lexi is under house arrest and the police have her phone and people are making fake accounts pretending to be her. I feel for this boy because I’m autistic like he is and he’s going to struggle in ways a non autistic person would struggle with these types of incidents you can be in. I locked myself in my house for 4 years because of incidents I went through in the first 2 years of high school and it takes longer for us to process what has happened, how we feel, how to express to others how we feel, we feel completely helpless even when their is someone supporting us and being there it’s just hard af and he didn’t deserve to go through that and that poor boy might not come out for days, weeks, months, years and you never really get past it from mine and other autistic peoples experiences you get flash backs things trigger it sometimes you can be in a good place and all of a sudden it happens and you’re back 10 steps again. I hope she gets done for the assault and verbal abuse because anyone can stop themselves even when they are angry and ticked off!
I'm a Mother and it disgusting me to think someone could do this to child she's old enough to know better
One of my freinds actually knew the girl, and it’s all that’s been talked about at my school recently,I don’t even know how someone could do that.
Kind of remind me of the first episode of Gantz, when a homeless man falls on the subway tracks and everyone just stands there just talking about how anyone should do something
This is a meme that hurts. It feels caustic
I recently heard some kid say "Thats some Lexi Bonner shit", to someone talking about "biting the curb" he really thought that that phrase was made up just the threaten her. Then he proceeded the glaze the shit out of the death threats. What the fuck is this generation.
People allowing a kid get beat up by a young adult are no different than bonner
how is that a young adult? young adult is 18-19
Slightly different, due to the bystander effect, but still incredibly apathetic and unjust.
@tigrisi Young adult is 20-24. 17-19 is the same age group and it's ridiculous that they're still treated differently in so many places.
@@tigrisi to an 8 yo , a 14 yo is practically an adult

Hi, LIMC, I am from the area this took place in the UK (So close, I have visited the exact park) and I can assure the young boy is indeed autistic (We have both been to the same autism snaps club) And that he is in bad shape, from what I know, he has some form of damage to his testes, a broken shoulder and a sprained ankle. I am honestly just sad that something like this could happen in my community. Thank you for bringing light to this downright sad situation.
My god this situation is a ever evolving clusterfuck
@@susbaca are you from the area too?
was it reported to the police? This kind of situation really needs some kind of justice
Whew! Thanks for that, i thought the boy died.
Psychotic behaviour.

This situation really is testing me.
Saw the videos, and yes, I want justice for this girl, but the way were solving it, it's not going anywhere.
I'm just hoping it can be actually solved at this point. Right now there's a bunch of rumors and misinfo everywhere and I'm just lost.

You’re everywhere 😮
But in you talking about not talking about fighting club you're talking about fight club
Wasn’t this the first episode of Abbott elementary?
I don’t get why people can’t just grow up and realise beating up a child is just stupid
This vid is literally like when a news broadcast says "we have reports of a robbery, we don't know when, where, the store, the culprit, how much they stole, if there's security footage, if anyone was attacked, or anything at all"
Why cant people just let the professionals and qualified ppl to handle these situations, sure raising awareness is important it still doesn't give you the permission to hurt anyone involved, friendly reminder they are still both underaged and threatening someone's life is not a good way to bring justice
because system is corrupted and no one will do anything?
@@CamelliaFlingertit is not YOUR responsibility at all, let the actual people do their job, and if they don’t, who cares? Worse things will come up soon, so go and fight about that instead.
@@ZenskololI’m sure you would care if you were the one beaten
@@CamelliaFlingert thats what raising awareness is for, it doesn't give you or anyone the right to harm anyone in this situation despite the unfortunate circumstances, justice will be served but not by the hands of random people who are not knowledgeable enough to handle these types of situations, also another friendly reminder that we are all humans lets try to be civil in this comment section

This kind of meme is dangerous
first of all - witchhunting - at most you report such stuff to police, dont threaten violence or doxx people. while most are joking, there are some who *will* step too far
second - there is no proof this name even belongs to this person, another person with such name might get in danger for no fault of their own. the same can happen to the houses that people claim this girl lives in.
I’m sorry, but I can’t get it out of my head that her last name is one letter away from…you know…
ok I'm not the only one
*lexi boner* 💀
it’s funny that people are showing up to her house and threatening her, that’s hilarious karma right there, and it’s just hilarious
I mean sorta but even then it’s NEVER okay to send death threats to people and if you actually have the intent to kill it doesn’t make you any better because you would have the same amount of blood on your hands.
