I'm glad that SM always take note in technique. A lot of companies does not provide good trainers, making them always strain and force notes to sing stylishly. SM so far always got at least one member who aces in vocals, and most of the main vocals of SM are included. Even from the Grace to the youngest group Red Velvet.
Most of their better vocalists started training at SM with already decent technique tho (e.g. Wendy, Kyuhyun, Baekhyun) while, unless their name is Taemin, those who are trained from scratch don't develop their technique much (e.g. Seulgi, Changmin, Tiffany).
dallak93 you forgot Luna. Originally got in for her dancing. Jaehyun may not be great yet but he also used to be in for his visuals, rap and dancing yet debuted as a lead vocal.

Aw man seeing 15& Jimin and The Grace Lina, wish they have much more opportunities to show case their amazing vocal abilities. And it seems SM is doing something right when it comes to training there vocalist, makes me excited to look forward to Wendy's career.
You'd be more excited when it comes to male vocalist. 4 out of 10 comes from SM, when Top 15, addition of D.O, Baekhyun, and Onew. Idk about Taemin, something is off about his G#4's right now.
4 out of 10 in both the boys and the girls, but in the boys list, if you add in former SM (ie trained by SM) than it's 6 out of 10 - pretty sure Junsu and Hwanhee would be in the top 10.

Another small disclaimer lol: although both their pros and cons are listed, the accompanying videos are only meant to highlight the positives :) also Hyorin and UJi aren't technically girl group members anymore (😞 ) but the majority of their singing careers happened as members of their groups, so I thought they should still be included. yes, she improved a lot last year. she's starting to use head voice now and it's supported up to G5. she's getting back her Eb5s/E5s now and it's resonant as well.

I was wondering if you would count Haeri, Shannon and Ailee in this haha! Good job with sharing the info from the blog, hopefully more people get interested in it :)) Although I was talking with Pandayeu a few months back and Taeyeon isn't really inconsistent with producing head voice, more just inconsistent with producing resonance up there. But anyway, great job. Still sad to see Hyorin down there, but at least Jimin is getting exposure lol

I've seen so many of these videos and I'm happy Jimin is still a proficient singer even though JYPEs vocal training is not that good. I wish they would focus more on their vocalists and their technique. It worries me that there are many JYPE artists who have had problems with their throat 😶
Can you rerank Hyorin now that she's back? She's getting more consistent with her E5s now and even some F5s! She even supports G5 in head voice now damn

Haeri and taeyeon show us how strong "mixed voice" aspect. If mixed voice is not that important so Taeyeon is not in number 6 and Haeri not in 1.
Just see Celine Dion and Lara Fabian for example Lara is the better belter but Celine outclass her in lower register, head voice, and vocal agility

Uji, Hyolyn, Hani, and HyunA should of stayed a group and debuted together. 😭😭😭😭 they would of been PERFECT! Especially with TWO strong vocalist in the group! But I do like Hani with EXID, Hyolyn with Sistar (even though they disbanded 😭), and Uji with Bestie....I feel like they’re gonna disband too...they have YET to shine or cause a big splash into the Kpop scene.

@@holyauburn8621 Um In terms of belting, Haeri does better in this register but overall, Ailee is still objectively better than her(Haeri) vocally.Considering her(Ailee)lows can decently vocalized down to G3/G#3 with good tonality and projection than Haeri who has A3/Bb3. Plus Ailee's well developed register which is headvoice that has much fullness and clarity with consistent resonance up to Bb5 (B5 inconsistently) than Haeri who's non existent in that upper register. And to be more specific about the different segments,then here :
Lows : Ailee>Haeri
Belting: Haeri>Ailee
Headvoice: Ailee>Haeri
Agility: Ailee>Haeri
Breath control: Tie
Vocal dynamics: Ailee>Haeri
Vibrato: Ailee>Haeri

Sorry, I jusy want to ask. Why Uji who has inconsistent resonance and even not optimal mix technique in c5-d5, also inconsistent head voice and only supported up to F5, rank higher than Taeyeon whom consistently resonance up to c#5, often d5 and support head voice up to f5/f#5 with resonance at times? Is it just because lower register alone?
I imagine Uji’s advantage in the lower register is greater than Taeyeon’s resonance advantage, and head voice is about equal. They’re really close though
Her lower register is excellent for a soprano and her d5s are more consistent than taeyeon. She even supports above d5 nowadays

hmm looking back at this with more knowledge, this is decent and way better than other rankings but it's way too focused on mixed register, haeri doesn't have a supported head voice like you said but vocalists here such as luna have the most perfect, resonant head voices i've ever heard which should automatically boost them. and haeri's lower register is weak as well
also i don't think rania should be #10 tbh there's many who are stronger than her no offence

If it's all not just about healthy techniques but also about well-rounded with all developed registers vocalists, I'll go with SM Holy Trinity Luna, Wendy, and Taeyeon for the win, since all of their registers are very well developed and they do singing healthily. But if we just go pure on healthy techniques despite the registers, then more or less I'll take the list.
I understand your point. I do think the same that this list is quite decent but also pretty weird and unfair at the same time. Because I admit that Haeri is good, but her lower and head registers are undeveloped. Based on all registers, Lina should topped the list with Luna slightly behind her.
It's kva (kpop vocal analysis) they only care about the mixed voice and "resonance", that's why taeyeon is above wendy (they both have the same supported mix but taeyeon's resonance is more consistent). I also think it's quite unfair that they ignore lower register and the head voice department imo

I think a bit sadly, she is my favorit singer ever, she has be able to bounce back once, and she is still an amazing vocalist and one of the best dancer , prime hyolyn is still on of the best vocalist that kpop ever meet

@@jinji4609 Idk about Seunghee from clc but you are totally underestimating LOONA. Chuu has shown really good agility, placement, good pitch, some support and great control over her upper register. You just have to dig in to find good performances of her because she is always out of breath. And for Haseul, it's a bit more complicated because she is z good rookie vocalist but absolutely not a main vocal material in a idol group. Nayeon and Jeongyeon are indeed underrated too. But Rosé isn't at the level of the top 3 of LOONA nor TWICE, she lacks in term of consistency, support, placement, breathing technique, and I can carry on.

Luna supported vocal range:
G3/G#3~Eb5 ~ Bb5 (with head voice)
Hyolyn lower register and mixed register is better than Luna but Luna is better when it comes to head voice/register. So Hyolyn > Luna
