bettasoul I’m not a vocal expert, but I’ve taken vocal lessons and can hear the difference between strained and supported notes. What I can’t hear is if it was strained because of raised legato, tension elsewhere etc.
I really hope Wendy practices on resonating. She’s not the most consistent but she has a lot of potential to be one of the best Kpop vocalists of all time, if she isn’t already one.

Comparing K-Pop's idol vocalists with Gospel's singers is a crime. Ofc Sohyang and Seungyeon are slaying them all. Classically trained vocalists are more well-rounded than Pop trained vocalists for a reason. Not to mention that Sohyang is already an excellent singer, so putting her here shouldn't be allowed 😂
Yeah, but female vocalists voices don't actually mature until their late 30's and yes! Shannon has very good technique, but if you compare it to lets say, so Hyang whose voice is very resonant when belting, shannon hasn't had nearly enough training and her belts can sometimes be tight, not open! That's why I wouldn't compare older, more trained, and experienced singers to newer singers! Not to say that any of them suck, of course!! You learn more as you grow and gain more experience!
