They are "seeding trays", found in the garden section of home depot or on Amazon.
I think leather looks better that's my opinion
Are you glueing together the pauldron pieces or just using the brads?
In this case I just used the brads like rivets.
Just to clarify, there are retaining straps under the shoulders for articulation and support.
