It seems to be a gimmick in the Chinese version that a zombie has an ability and there's a plant that is nearly useless besides countering that 1 zombie

I think some of the zombies in the Chinese version have good base ideas, but in practice are poorly executed.

Don't forget that it's not just new plants but also p2p plants that usually can counter new gimmick while free versions can't

Ah yes, you know just the other day I was thinking what levels weren’t already hard enough and the first two that popped into my head were Dark Ages and Big Wave Beach. Thank you Chinese PvZ2 for addressing the lack of difficulty in those two levels specifically.

Although the animations aren’t as smooth, they feel like they belong in the game. Like sure, some seem to be just “Bulky sponge enemies” but I feel like you can just adjust them and they can still be quite some fun to use, especially the 1st and final zombie on this list.

The Calvary Zombie is such a cool zombie and is definitely one of my favorites! Could you imagine the terror of encountering this thing in the international version?
It would made dark age level unbeatable without paid plants or level up.

I would have a hell of a time trying to find ways to counter them, and watching that satisfying animation of the Calvary Zombie dying before he could even jump outta his horse, many players in the community would mostly hate it but there are some that will admire it.
It's pretty funny when people will say stuff like "I want this zombie/plant/world in the international version!" But in hindsight, they would start to hate it if it did come out in the international version.
I mean really depends on what plants like chestnut and acidic citrus wouldn’t get complains since those plants fits the game artstlye and aren’t op. Also applies to zombies like walrus.
If I could put them in, it would be the perfect excuse to go back and put in the expansions and vase-breaker in all the worlds
This video taught me two things. One, The Chinese version is way too hard, and two, In the Chinese version, Snap-Pea is your best option
Btw. Chinese: buff most zombies and nerf most plant.
Buffed plant:
1. Aloe now boost attack speed
2. Missile toe now deal splash damage
Nerfed Plant:
1. Kernel pult butter effect now last 5 seconds if feed plant food
2. Electric blueberry cant even kill cone head.
@@nymphiachan5822 Also, peashooter is incredibly overpowered in chinese Pvz2. It can shoot “super peas” at a higher level, which can’t be reflected, amd has a chance to shoot 5 peas.

Ah yes, more Chinese content. As a Chinese player myself, this is very based. It’s very amusing how Bandit Zombie is extremely powerful when invisible but immediately falters when Plantern reveals his location. But then again, all of the Dark Ages Zombies are powerful in their own rights.

As soon as I heard the Big Wave Beach music I immediately was horrified by the fact they made BWB even harder in the Chinese version
Personally I struggled way more in Neon Mixtape, and Jurassic Marsh more than Big Wave Beach

I really wish these guys were in the international version. Here are my thoughts on each and if they were added in the international version, what I would adjust:
Bandit Zombie
- I really like the bandit zombie, and having Plantern reveal them is nice. I think there needs a little adjusting with how he interacts with plants. Ex. I personally think they should still be hit by plants that are trying to damage zombies in their lane. As far as I understand, the potion simply makes him invisible, not actually erase his existence, so I think if a peashooter tries to shoot a zombie and the bandit is in front, they should still get hit. They should also still get damaged by Spikeweed/Spikerock, and still get blown up by the Cherry bomb and Lava Guava, etc. Other than that, they would be a very fun addition to Dark Ages
Calvary Zombie
- When I played Dark Ages, I was disappointed that they have knight zombies, yet they don't have them on horses or anything, so I'm glad they actually went with that idea because it was such a missed opportunity to do something similar to the zombie bull
- I would be down to have these guys in the game HOWEVER they would have to be significantly nerfed. By default, even if they behaved like the zombie bull, they're still way stronger because instead of an imp, it's a knight riding them, so I think instead of a knight zombie, they could potentially make it into an entirely new zombie, and have both the rider and the horse be slightly easier to kill. Knights already appear super often because of the King, and the Calvary would just add on to that
Archmage
- While I do like the idea, I don't know how I feel about having a zombie that disables your plants, when we already have the wizard zombie in Dark Ages. At least there's a way to counter it, using the Coffee bean which is cool
Shell Zombie
- Ok we really don't need a super strong zombie when the world already sends so many bucketheads, however if nerfed, I think they would be a nice variant for BWB. Obviously I would make them weaker, maybe equal or maybe slightly weaker than a buckethead. Slowing their movement can also be nice (they already destroy plants in one hit, so there should be some kind of compromise). They should act similarly to the Pharaoh zombie so Cherry Bombs can actually destroy the shell
Walrus and Ski Zombie
- I like the concept of them since it's similar to the Zomboni. I would personally change the Walrus so that it only goes 3 tiles in, and the Ski zombie can jump an extra 2-3 tiles. Heat plants and heat attacks like the Pepperpult and Lava Guava should melt the ice, preventing the Ski Zombie to ride it
Chief Ice Wind Zombie
- Design-wise I like how he looks since a very unique looking zombie. I'm not sure how I feel about him though since he's basically just the Hunter, but he does the entire lane. He's kinda cool I guess
Overall these zombies (with some tweeking) could've been really neat additions to these worlds since one of my complaints with the game is that there are barely any unique zombies in the later worlds, except Neon Mixtape Tour and Lost City. These zombies could've made more of the levels feel more varied
Chief ice wind zombie's design makes me wish there were more different body designs for zombies
Pvz is such a easy game nerfing these zombies to much just makes them fodder.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I've been looking of anyone mention ANY of these zombies for a long time. I remember there was a channel that did so incredibly about 4 years ago perhaps.
First time i've really looked into the chinese ver, honestly the designs are really cool, the animations are less than ideal but they have so much little details it makes it like cute in a way?

@Scratchy What? No it isn't. PvZ 2 literally has most of the plants from the first game, but they just excluded some. And there's way more new ones than old ones, so what point are you even trying to make? If they wanted to be completely original, then there would be no plants from the first game.
@Scratchy No, you can't. Your point didn't even make sense in the first place, if it was truly "originality" then there wouldn't be plants like Banana Launcher or Phat Beet, who function almost the same as plants from PvZ 1. That isn't being original, it's the opposite if anything.

Cavalry zombie sounds like a pain to deal with.

The dark ages is already horrible enough we don’t need more horrible things but also big way beach is horrible as it is imagine the clam in every level sounds like the ninth layer of hell

I can definitely see the Shell Zombie didn’t appear in the Non-Chinese game, because there’s already one: The Deep Sea Gargantuar!
These zombies if added in the int. version would be a challenge given some of their abilities (and the possible chance that some may get nerfs)

I think what would make the archmage zombie a bit more unique, is to add some sort of sound when a plant is asleep. (Snore for example or that the plant's eyes are closed) considering you may not see the text bubble with the z’s coming out of it

That attack with the peas only happens with large zombies, like Gargantuars or mechs.

Dark ages is my favourite world unironically but the fact that they expanded on it with more painful zombies makes me a little more happy that I can bash my head into my table while playing that world again
I've noticed that the only returning worlds that include new zombies are worlds that were originally divided into two parts, while Ancient Egypt, Pirate Seas, Wild West and Far Future don't have any new zombies. While the other worlds have new zombies to fill them up to around 6 zombies each

A good explanation would be grid item since not all grid items are graves (surfboards, zombot's boombox, etc) and stating it as a grave might be confusing since a grave normally would spawn zombies on necromacies and can be planted gravebuster on
Grid item is far too vague, since gold tiles, score tiles, minecarts, lilypads, etc
@@enderallygolem that is correct, there are a wide variety of grid items, but not every damage-able grid items should be graves, by your logic surfboards and octos should also be considered gravestone (also lily pads are plant)

The walrus is just the zomboni from pvz1
But the ski zombie is potentially way more dangerous than the bobsled, and that's probably the key difference

I found it wierd at first when i first saw that the bull was a robot in wild west, but the bugs in lost city were real.

Sometimes you get the attention to detail with the Ski Zombie and sometimes you get missing crucial details like the arm and head failing for the Ski Zombie.
@@RGC_animation The one that threw me for a loop was Spikerock and Spikeweed not effecting the cloaked bandit zombie, but Cactus spikes does

I feel like all these zombies were supposed to be added to the international version as well but they scrapped them early on due to balancing issues. Thats why some of the animations are jankier

Fact: one of the textures on one of the zombie knight's legs will still be visible on the horse in its walk and idle animation, even if it has already been thrown. (That yellow line on the saddle is THAT part of the leg.)

Modern Day have many new zombies, you should show Modern Day for final part. There many zombies in normal levels and in endless levels, some of them really New, but some of them from pvz 1 :)

It’s unrealistic that the bandit zombie doesn’t die to explosions caused by Cherry bomb and any other explosive plants.
The last one (Chief Ice Wind) looks so familiar for some reason. Like, I could swear I've seen a similar design in an Asterix & Obelix movie or something.

Archmage would also fit if they removed that book, it just looks wrong. Bonus points if they make him have a longer attack range as his "eating" animation suggests
Also they should definitely make an actual animation or just anything but what we have now for the plants being asleep. And i guess also fix some weird interactions with some plants

Ski zombie is a chad. He is careful not to cheat and skip over the plants, and I can respect that.
The first is quite dump as just because you’re invisible, doesn’t mean you are in other dimension. They should just change it to he still receiving damage, but plant won’t attack what they can’t see.
I kinda disagree with with calvary being most of the overpowered zombies, you can destroy him with most instants or with a good defense and if you have a leveled plant he has no chance of surviving
Most ppl hate it because of the fact he is basically a the bull zombie that releases a knight zombie upon charging into a plant. But it does add to the asthetic

Bandit zombie is good idea for pvz 2 original
If you ask me the best counter to each zombie in the video as a none chinese player I’d say these are the best ones for each zombie.
Bandit, plantern or any plant that kills zombies by being eaten.
Cavalry, pushroom, primal wall nut or snap pea
Archmage, something that attacks from behind like starfruit or any insta use plant.
Shell zombie, snap pea or any plant with a hole mechanic
Walrus, jalapeno, this is just a remixed zomboni from the first game
Ski zombie, blover or any melee plants at the back when its paired with the walrus, puff shroom or any piercing plant like fume shroom could counter it when its not with a walrus.
Chief ice wind zombie, any plant with the warmness ability or any instant.
I'd say that my favorite version-exclusive zombie is the Bassist Zombie on looks alone. Sad we never got it.
Dunno why the bassist zombie was exclusive only to the chinese version, i thought he was official and was perfect for the metal jam along with the garg to add more dread into the "you're screwed" theme.

I feel like Cavalry Zombie could work if it’s _super_ rare. If it would only ever spawn one or two at a time, once or twice per level, then I think it could work. But if a level uses it even semi-regularly, then it would just be annoying.
As for shell zombie, considering big wave beach’s game plan is bullying the plants on the front line, I think if the shell was actually weaker yet could still OHKO might work. I don’t think the world needs anything else though.

Yeah, like those weapon racks in the kong fu world or the literal fact the renassiance era had a day and night cycle. But after describing sky city and its special gimmicks, i don't think we are getting anymore clarifications, sky city got an exception because it's gimmicks were just too diferent

I have an idea for an acient Egypt and all of the others that weren’t mentioned here
For ancient Egypt its the remastered Pharaoh zombie (just remastering him will be hopefully enough) he now is a walking zombie king but his health is half and when he dies a Grave spawns and when the grave isn’t destroyed in time it will spawn zombies very frequently
For Pirate seas its the Captain Dead beard: he can shoot plants but has a limited ammo and when the ammo is out he has to reload (takes 3 collums) he can’t eat plants he smashed them with his gun when he has no ammo and can’t reload yet
For Wild west its the Bounty hunter: like deadbeard he shoots but you get a warning before he spawns (this plant is the bounty plant) and he only shoots the bounty plant and no other plant (can kill any plant 1 hit that isn’t invincible)
For Lost city its the Tomb raider zombie: this one is a very fast zombie and when his health is below 50% he throws his gold and treasures and any plant hit will receive major damage can’t kill wall nuts though and when he runs he smashed the plants with his gold
For far future its the Prototype.Bucket 23451: this robot is the only immune to Em Peach but when electricity is damaging him he slows down and magnet shroom does major damage to him (like any robot anything he eats isn’t interesting)
For NMT its the Music hater zombie: this zombie when any music is played has x2 the speed of zombie chicken and rams plants but after he rammed 1 plant he dies because his head is squished
For Jurassic march it’s the Raptor Rider: This zombie rides a raptor and the raptor is a own zombie and he is swift and is durable and the zombie riding him is just a cone head (always)
For modern day its the All Star Fan: When a all star is on the field he will run after him and eats x4 as fast as a normal zombie but if no all star is here nothing happens and he will be a regular zombie
Can you make a video about plants that you can only get in the China version of PVZ2, u already showed some plants in some videos. Also a question can you get plants for each world that only can appear in china exclusive worlds.
(Now If im correct, Snap Pea's AI is fine with eating normal sized zombies, yet it shoots at anything too big.)
