Thanks for that lovely comment John. It really is appreciated. This video was made in one take with no script. It's Mick that makes them funny. Take care buddy, glenn
Just watched your video on both ways of laying bricks Charlie. It's fantastic! You're a top brickie mate. Great style. Just quickly, would you mind if I mention you in one of my videos?
Just to say how much I enjoy your videos Charlie. When this is all over try and bring the family to Hastings for a weekend. We've got the best accommodation you can imagine. My Kath would love to meet you all. Check our video 'Golden Wedding on my you tube channel, Stay safe buddy, glenn
Glenn your a absolute legend ! You remind me of the old Skool brickie that taught me , we always had a right laugh on site and he was one of the best I’ve ever seen , love it lads keep them coming 👍🏻🍺🍺
Glenn. I think your fans deserve a long video of you and Mick giving us your life story in Bricklaying..I am a touch younger than you both but I think it would be nice to hear your tales of old ,from starting out ,old prices, being ripped off, blow downs, good jobs ,bad jobs, laid off, worst weather, no work bla bla. You are a legend and for younger guys getting into this game and older dudes looking back I think it would be cool ....Just a thought.
Glen you have got to be the only man who can make knocking up a bit of compo entertaining ,well done mate shame all the old school are no longer in the building all the funs gone out of it ,good to see you and mick still doing a bit
In Bournemouth early 1980s I saw a gang of labourers ( older guys at the time ) knock up muck using a long board on the ground and there were about 4 or five of them on each side of the board , the gear was shovelled from one end to the other then back again,
It's a long time ago Glenn and hard to remember exactly, it was a big job we were on and these guys were working for someone else, they may have been more shovels on each side of the long boards than I said, but each guy rolled it to the next then back again , it must have been the way they did things in the old days down there. I only saw it happen once in my time down there Great videos
@3:00 - I believe it. Something similar happened to me. I was adopted, or invaded, by a tiny wild bird, who found it's way into my roof-mounted heater box (long out of order), and had nothing to do but listen to me while sitting in the box. It was safe in that box. It announced itself with a loud tweet. It sounded exactly how a person would pronounce "tweet" but in a higher tone. I answered back, and we formed a relationship. You can't express complex ideas with a vocabulary consisting of "tweet". If you can imagine yourself only able to make one sound, you would learn to communicate things with that one sound by altering it a little. This is how the bird communicated with me. A loud tweet would express excitement or joy. It would lengthen that loud tweet for emphasis. It would low-tweet me when it was complaining about something while we listened to music. It would express "I understand" or "I recognize that sound" by tweeting "tweEET". It listened to me practice pool everyday for months, and it finally figured it all out after about 5 months listening. When the bird heard a ball drop in the pocket, it would tweet as if to say, "Good shot". Of course the bird didn't know what I was doing or why, but that's was it's conclusion about what I was doing. It could hear the slightest sounds via the heater ducts that extended to each room. It could hear a sock dropped on the floor. It read my emotions while shooting pool and that's how it figured the sound of a ball dropping into a pocket, which the bird could tell that it pleased me. Subsequently, it noticed that sometimes when a ball dropped into a pocket, that I was unhappy, as when I scratched the cue ball. It was proud that it figured out the sound of the ball being pocketed, and let out a "twEEet" as if to express pride because he figured it out. It was a smug little bird then. But, when it noticed my reaction to scratching, that dashed his conclusion and it began to tweet after every shot to prompt me for my emotional reaction to the shot. I was trained by this bird to report after each shot. If I said nothing after a shot, it would tweet. If I reported about a shot, it remained silent. But, the most interesting thing about this bird is that it was a music junky. Loved music. But this comment is way too long, so I'll save that for anyone who might want to read about a bird listening to music. I have useful information for bird owners about music.
