I really love this phone, have been using one for five months now. Got it as an upgrade from One plus phones I had for years (3t, 7t and nord 2). The premium feel and the eccentric appearance are a huge plus for me! But in my opinion, the camera can be improved, compared to my experience with oneplus phones.
Had this phone for a little over a week and absolutely loved it's unique look, the glyphs, the simply briliant nothing software interface and the cameras were more than acceptable for me....
However, the speakers were truly awful and I mean really bad!!
I couldn't listen to anything without using a third party graphic equaliser to try and prevent the speakers from clipping, distorting and sibilance in voices when singing.. Also the speaker volume when making a call was so quiet I could hardly hear the person on the other end.... So frustrating!
I really wanted to love this phone and had waited patiently for it to arrive so I could upgrade.... And as much as I really liked 90% of it, the appalling speaker quality and poor call volume forced me to send it back....
Hopefully Nothing phone 3 will rectify the speaker issues, as I believe it's possibly a hardware problem (or assembly quality issue) and I can climb aboard the nothing platform once again.
Nice review! I got bored with my Pixel 7 Pro, so I decided to take the plunge. My Phone (2) should be here in the next week or so. Looking forward to it!
Giving up the Pixel 7 Pro for this is crazy! Camera quality is going to go way down.
@@Jthall1990 Depends on what you value. I think the cameras on the Phone (2) are good enough. Of course they are not P7P quality, but they more than get the job done. I have a really good mirrorless camera for when I want to take real photos, so I'd rather the overall experience that the Phone (2) offers over the P7P. The thing I miss the most is actually speech to text...

@@Jthall1990 been using it for a few weeks. So far one of the best Android experiences I've had. Photos are probably 80% of what you get on the p7p and I can live with that. Doesn't mean I won't be tempted when the new Pixels come out 🤦
@@bstrac77 just want to stop by and say I face the nothing phone 2 a chance over my pixel 7 and I'm very impressed with the phone. Great software, great performance, amazing battery life (I got 9 hrs of screen on time one day) average 6-7. The cameras are good enough. Yes the pixel takes better overall photos. But I was very happy with what the nothing phone 2 could do. Honestly would recommend this phone to anyone that wants a flagship phone that will last them 3-4 years that's $600 8/10
Reminds me of the Essential ph1 phone, which was cool. But this phone needs a better camera, period.
Yeh man! Nice review! Does look cool and is definitely a welcome change to generally generic designs everything else has mostly fallen into (with a few exceptions). The monochrome style packs a punch. Keep up the good reviews :)

I had the chance to try this phone in a store. I own an iPhone 14; in comparison, this phone looks good in person, and the OS seems interesting. However, what's holding me back is my experience testing the camera. The iPhone presents true-to-life colors, which are realistic, while the NP2 tends to brighten the image so much that warm lighting becomes white. Therefore, perhaps I'll hold off until they get the camera on par, if not better, than the iPhone's.

Camera performs well, not as amazing impressive in low light but perfectly fine in daylight. The selfie camera is fantastic
Probably want to just got for the pixel if camera use is high and gaming
For gaming choose Nothing phone 2, 8+ Gen 1 is better than Tensor G2
