Especially this ending while cook was talking to him while he was asleep, that is exactly what I used to do sometimes when I was in that world and knew nobody awake would listen anyway.

Look the cook had been a cook for a long enough time...at least thats how they portray him. He knew wat he was doing...he was sick and tired of his life and saw only one way out. Finished the job his mom suggested she did.....

....I can’t believe the amount of people who are saying this was an accident... this was suicide. If you watch the scene before this, the cook has a monologue in which he describes his mother “killing what she can’t take care of.” If you watch that scene, you can put two and two together pretty easily. His death was intentional, and he knew what he was doing when he went into the trailer to end his life.
Noone ever gets the impression that maybe Eric Robert's character murdered cook. Cook didn't leave money with Ross and he blew up quickly like when he opened a container it was rigged to blow. The man felt he needed to make sure cook didn't talk to anyone about him. Cook didn't seem like he would be a rat but better safe than sorry.
@@Weber1987 That's an interesting theory but I disagree. Watch the scene again. When he enters the trailer it's bright sunlight outside. The trailer is completely bathed in sunlight. But within 5 seconds or so the trailer is in the shade. When the trailer blows up it's in the shade. Some time had passed since the Cook entered the trailer and when it blew up. There's not a lot of things around that could create that shade (trees, buildings, etc) so it has to be from the sun setting over the horizon. That 5 seconds or so after the Cook enters the trailer and it winds up in the shade is a time progression. I would guess at least 2-4 hours. Enough time to get set up, start cooking, lose focus from lack of sleep and boom. I don't think it was intentional on Cook's part or "The Man's" part. "The Man" (Eric Roberts) gave him A LOT of money, 2 money rolls. He didn't have to give him both money rolls. He could've given him one roll and then told him he'd give him more when he made more or something like that. Suicide just doesn't make sense nor does murder. The Cook made The Man A LOT of money. He wouldn't kill his Cook. But many people say with their songs or in this case films, to interpret what you want from it. So this is one of those endings where it's left up to the viewer to decide for themselves what happened to the Cook. My ending is it was a tragic accident. A very common accident among Meth cooks. PS I also think Cook took Ross' keys with him into the trailer. That sucks for Ross lol
Nah, suicide doesn't make sense to me. Why wouldn't he leave money for Ross and more importantly, I think he took Ross' keys into the trailer with him. He has them in his hand when he exits the car so he can open the trunk. So I think he took the keys in the trailer with him. If he was going to kill himself he probably would've left Ross his keys so he could leave when he woke up. Also see my reply above to someone else in your replies for more of my opinion. Just don't want to type it again lol
This was one of the best endings I've ever seen! I'm 5 years off of it and life can still be frustrating as fuck and shitty at times, but I definitely have a better shot at accomplishing what I want to accomplish and becoming who I want to be than I did while I was stuck on it and deteriorating on almost every level. There are 2 key points to identify here. 1 is how far he parked the car away from the trailer. This could hint to him being suicidal. but on another note is why would he bring all the materials inside just to kill himself? Im pretty sure he only needed one flammable container but Idk.. it just seems like there are more clues to him committing suicide than it being an accident
