Great video Rico and Victoria! We had so much fun shooting this with you. Looking forward to next week's video that goes over all the electronics on your yacht!
Thanks for having us! We are pretty excited now for our Electronics package 😝💙💙
The most important thing I took away from this is that you are still willing to service 40-year-old equipment if at all possible. That is so rare these days and it's admirable that you do it, I detest planned obsolesce.
@@marvindebot3264 We definitely stand behind our products and that is our business model. Whether you are making your living on the water, or simply are out there to enjoy it, it's important that you can rely on your electronics and that you can depend on the company to stand behind it! 👊
It was an absolute pleasure getting to know part of the Furuno Team!!
I'm looking forward to it as well.
Rico looked like a kid on Christmas morning.😊
Most definitely 🤣🤪💙⚓️
Apparently it was Christmas morning, or real near.
Not in my parents house he didn't. (Sad face emoji)
The DNA of Furuno fits so well with the Bering dna
Definitely!!
We agree!
20 year retired 100 ton Gulf of mexico oilfield Captain here. 95% of my boats had Furono radar, depth sounder, GPS, Weather Fax etc. NEVER had a catastrophic failure, had to replace an ancient magnetron once. Just awesome stuff. Actually, the second radar I ever used as a Captain was a Raytheon you had to put your head in like your oldies radar! BIG Furono fan here, happily retired from that GOM nightmare, but still a fan.
Thank you for your kind words, glad we were able to help you do your job for all of those years!
I bought a WWII light freighter to supply some Alaska canneries in the 1980's and it had an "old" Furuno radar set. I had to look into a hooded screen though eye surrounds to read the "blips". But it ALWAYS WORKED. We upgraed in 1990 to a "new" Furuno but KEPT the original and used both. Thanks for keeping us safe Furuno! And thanks for the guided tour "NautiGuys".
Fascinating 🧐🙌🏼
had one of those old CRT Furunos as well. That thing could pick up lobster traps and birds no problem. I have the Furuno First Watch now, we use it to monitor MPAs, but even for a "budget" radar it does great and zero problems. I suspect my newer Furuno will last decades like the last one.
Great story and thanks for being a Furuno customer for years!
Love these factory tours ❤
Glad you like them! Part 2 coming soon!
That's incredible that they are willing and able to supply parts for older units-how many companies do that today? Most companies would rather sell you a new product than find you parts to fix your older unit. That's really impressive and shows they are committed to their products! That's a win-win for the consumer for sure!!
💯🥳🥳🥳
Thank you, we appreciate it!
It doesn't hurt that their tech is so good that they have military contracts. That simple fact alone not only allows them, but REQUIRES them to keep spares and supply parts for older generations of hardware. As a byproduct, it means their hardware HAS to be easily field-serviced - which means it's designed with owner maintenance in mind. When this spills over into the consumer side of things, we call it "right to repair". But I call it "how it fucking should have been in the first place". Glad to see Furuno not going down the rabbit hole of chasing planned obsolescence for no reason.
Wow I would love to work with a company that knows the value of their employees, well done Furuno
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you!
I was lucky to grow up in a fishing village on the east coast of the UK. Not many leisure boats had furuno. But virtually every fishing boat, dredger and other commercial boats had furuno. My friend's dad's boat, princess ds 30 at that time had furuno. His dad was a commercial ship engineer. And to this day every boat he has upgraded to has furuno.
We 💙 Furuno!
That's fantastic!
Ive learned more about Furuno than i ever knew. I find it amazing i see them in boats on the lake and tons of pictures. Its so amazing what great customer service and keeping it family does for a company. Excellent video by the way i cant wait to see part 2
we agree, we learned a lot as well
Really cool video series. Not only are we learning about your boat, I am learning about a whole industry I knew nothing about. Entertaining and informative.
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Great video guys. Very nice to have had the chance to meet and work with you during the making of this video. Can’t wait for the next episodes when we get to the boat😊
Same here Tim! Thank you for showing us all the cool stuff... can't wait for everyone to see Mike's reactions 😝😂😂😂 EPIC!
Thank you, it was nice meeting you as well.
MY VICTORIA AND RICO REVEALING ANOTHER ASPECT OF BOATING THAT NO BODY ELSE COVERS!!!!...WELL DONE DUDE AND DUDET 😂😂😮😊❤...
😝🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
THANKS FOR RESPONDING VICTORIA 😀 🙂 👍
I love the augmented reality (I think thats its name) where you have AIS open on a plotter and you can overlay a camera feed so the AIS shows the name and other details of the boats on screen.
Fantastic video 2x👍
innovation!! 🙌💙⚓️
Absolutely the most interesting and thorough geek video yet. I can't wait for the next one.
More to come! 🙏🏻😝🥳
@@NautiGuysWaiting with bated breath😂

Part 2 is even more exciting!!
They say Timex takes a licking and keeps on ticking. Just like a car or even boats, by the time you drive it is out of date. The technology truly is mind blowing. The fish finders are now being used to find vehicles underwater. Watching Rico get "Nerdy" is so much fun.
😝🙈🙈
I’ve been waiting for this one. I’m looking forward to you showing it in action on your yacht too!
You and me both! 🤣🤪💙⚓️
@@NautiGuysI, for one, would love a “NautiNerds” channel where you guys go full-out deep-geek and technical on these systems and their use on your yacht. I haven’t yet found a channel that scratches that itch for me. I often get the impression that Rico will often wants to go there, but has to get held back.😂
Lol for this 2-part Video I ended up with 5 hours of usable footage 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ i have been in editing hell 🤪🤪🤪
@@FlashBIOS If we did something like that on the Furuno RUclips channel, would that be of interest?
@@FurunoMarineElectronics Indeed I would!
Great collab as a huge fan of the NautiCrew; and so excited that the world now gets to see the inner workings of by the best marine electronics outfit in the game; the equipment, the people, truly an absolute pleasure to work with Furuno USA as a very proud Dealer! Shout out to Barb, Kauz, Lantz, EK, Fred, Miichi-san, the Camas Crew and Denton Den! Rico & Victoria, I guarantee you will LOVE the new gear on the Bering! Can't wait for Episode 2, fastest 47 minutes of my life!
oooowwww how cool to hear this!! we are excited, especially after meeting everyone and getting to know the product and all-new Tech
Remember the old Furuno radar on the Mongoose ? ...... Now we know where to take it for a tune-up.
Hehehe
Great video! And, congrats to FURUNO for having such a great company
We agree!
Thank you!
Very enjoyable tour.
Furuno defines commitment in so many categories.
It's a rarity to be treated to such absolute full service and product support.
Greeting from the West Coast of Canada.
there is something truly refreshing to hear members of a company that have not only been employed for a number of years, but really enjoy their work and more than happy to share the whole experience with others - to me even as a non customer makes me want to be one, that is what customer satisfaction is
now i do watch aviation channels too, and have heard from a few channels, people who have approached manufacturers who then bring particular subject matters to light and get down to writing the software to do the tasks being requested - it seems Furuno are one of those companies
great video, super company, keep up the great work
🥳🥳🥳
Thank you, we appreciate your comments and certainly every one of our hard working, dedicated employees. It's our employees that really make Furuno shine!
@@FurunoMarineElectronics your very welcome, and many thanks for your reply, i know in a few countries customer service is very important especially the US - not sure if you ever dealt with the UK, but it absolutely stinks here - people hide behind their smoked glass offices in their ivory towers and spit on folk below, it is utterly disgraceful - and to give a mega huge example of this is the Post Office scandal that's been going on for a little over 20 years now, if you not heard of it - our national and Post Office had a system developed by Fujitsu called Horizon, it didn't work properly, designed to help post masters tally the daily earnings - if their was a difference in the balance, the post masters were responsible and many were forced by law to pay up - the post office customer service would not assist and the whole thing got out of hand - i personally feel its a great example of what can happen if you don't deal with customers and in this case employees wanting assistance
Superb..thats a company there. Thanks for the backstage pass again 👏🏻👏🏻
🎉🎉🙏🏻💙
You did it to me again! Another cliffhanger!
Seriously though, I love that you are including tour videos from the companies you will be using. Seems like they all are great places to work, not to mention the after-sale support they all have. It's awesome that Furuno actively supports the wellness of their employees. It says a lot about a company when they're willing to take a slight financial hit in order to allow their employees a little extra time to focus on their health and well being.
Thanks for the compliments! Yes, our employees are key to our success, so it is important to do what we can to support their ability to exercise and stay healthy.
My good friend Shane Ryan worked for Furuno in Camas after.both being radar text in the Navy❤. He died last year of cancer in his 50s and worked there for many years. Was great watching this video.
I’m so sorry to hear that 😔 glad you enjoyed remembering him while watching this video
Shane was an amazing man and a valued member of the Furuno USA staff. We truly miss him, his sense of humor, and his amazing technical knowledge.
Furuno Forever! And now a few baby boat name suggestions for your consideration:
Eureka! // Ark-imedes // Checkmate // Kokomo // SasSea // Dingo // Diploma Sea // Nightwish
Nice!! Adding to the list!! 📝
Great to see Capt. Mike joining you. I always watch his channel also.
Then definitely do NOT miss next episode 🥳🥳🥳
He does a great job for sure!
You had my eyes glued. Can't wait for next week! Very festinating.
Glad you enjoyed! Part 2 next week!
Go Furuno!!! Thanks Victoria & Rico for bringing us this behind the scenes look at a premier company!!!

This may be Furuno's best advertising and it's at an unbelievable price.

Glad you enjoyed it Alan!!!
Excellent interesting brilliant insight video rico and victoria
Glad you enjoyed David! 🙏🏻💙⚓️
Thanks for this as I was never sure the difference between Furuno & other makes whenever you guys did your boat reviews. This is much more clear now & can’t wait till next weekend to see what you are getting. Great job & Furuno looks like a great company to deal with. After all you get what you pay for & in the end price isn’t always the determining factor .👍🇨🇦🙏

Victorious is absolutely right. Was just so engaged did not even notice 47 min go by. Have already made my decision to have Furuno electronics before this video, yet so confirming that decision. Thanks, Nauti Guys.‼️ See you next time.
Good stuff
Glad to have you as part of the Furuno family.
Very interesting tour. Almost makes me want to come out of retirement, dust off my EE degree and go to work for Furuno.
Go for it!
This is too cool. You guys are becoming a real valuable resource. I had no idea I lived within driving distance of Furuno headquarters.
Thank you!
That is awesome!
I started running commercial boats in the NW (WA, AK) in the late 1960's and had Furuno equipment from that start, much of it from considerably earlier. Extremely reliable and functional. Still using it.

Good to hear!
Impressive. They have really moved the needle in information available and imo. Better ease of use and access to everything you need to see😊
Fantastic. Thanks for a very informative video.

Glad it was helpful! 🙏🏻⚓️💙

I learned on the old round screen radar that you stick your head into. Yes, I'm that old. Still rate Furuno over others, even though I've still use a Hummingbird fishfinder that cost me £10 at a used market sale 20 years ago.

I used Furuno in the merchant navy and marine electronics of all brands in the leisure industry after that. People shook their heads when I put one of the first Furuno Navnet radars/chart plotter combos on our 36ft displacement steel cruising powerboat…this video explains exactly why I spent the extra money. Quality and service second to none.

For Rico, is he familiar with the acronym RTFM? 😅
It's the answer on the forums to those who ask questions that are answered in the manual!
😂🤣
oh RTFM is something I say very often to Rico (after I find the right answer before he figures it out)
I sort of figured this was going to be at least a two parter. Thanks for clearing up when the visit was, I saw the Christmas tree and was scratching my head. 😂😂. Can’t wait to see the rest of it. Just wondering if you got the ECDIS system as well. Looking forward to hear all about the AI in the systems. That could be really interesting and a step up in safety- if programming is done right. Great start. Rico ‘s eyes looked like when he was in son d studio in Italy- kid in a candy store look!
😝🙌🏼🙌🏼🥳🥳 see you next week
When I left the USAF in 1980 I got a job at a large medical equipment manufacturer by the name of Beckman Instruments. When I was in training we went to the Fullerton plant, one of the original plants in the company.Arnold Beeckman ,in his 90’s still had an office in the building.Mr.Beckman invented the Ph Meter in his garage and grew that one instrument into a very big biomedical instrument corporation. He still went into the office weekly right up until he retired. Beckman Instruments merged with Coulter instruments and became Beckman/Coulter,one of the biggest biomedical instruments on the planet. Furono sounds a lot like Beckman Instruments, the best in their industry.
Very interesting!

Wow!
Furuno were always the competition, I started out as a Radar Tech with Decca Radar in 1972 installing, servicing and repairing radars, Decca Navigators, Sailor and Simrad MF and VHF radios and Simrad echosounders and sonars.
There were a few boats in the harbours that had Furuno radars but most were Decca 101/super101 and the, at the time new 050 a few had the 202 and then the Transar and 912/914 series, still remember the lead lined apron I had to wear when servicing the scanners, Ah happy days.
I am excited to watch the rest of the video as I have to go to my boat just now
