I always remember his name and the song.Because, the way he rendered this song with clarity of lyric,his devotion,the intensity of his involvement, vigour and super grip of raga tala and laya alongwith typical modulation were fantastic, inspite of the fact that he is Muslim and not supposed to praise a Hindhi lord. Pt Zakir Hussain often also says that we as a musicians serve Goddess Sarswati during every event.So,the very big and enlightened musicians are beyond the boundaries of religion ,caste and creed and also the limitations of ordinary humanbeing.They are not made but born as the special entity of almighty.
I had the opportunity to meet him. I was amazed how he followed Islam yet had a very secular outlook. He was attending a music event. It happened to be during Ramzan. He had come to one of our relatives home. He broke his fast with a date.
