I played most of the first Dead Space without knowing... I can rotate Plasma Cutter by 90 degrees.
Still, there isn't many titles where you can beat a game using one gun exclusively and not feel bad about it.

I'd say a survival horror that makes you feel like a winner just for surviving, no matter how you did it, is indeed doing its job well.
Yeah, I wanted to make something heavy and aggressive, but I still used some of the same musical scales, chords and notes from Necromorph Soup to retain something of a connection :) It's cool that people are noticing!

Every time a new Miracle of Sound comes out for a game I'm playing (which almost every time, it *is* about the game I'm playing), I'm so excited.
What I love about your music is that your songs are just plain amazing, I can appreciate this song even though I haven't played the game (as with many of your other songs). Commander Shepard and Normandy even convinced me to get ME... which has since become one of my all-time fave game franchises, so thanks for that!

By far by favourite song, the crunchy feel is fitting and the flowtiness of some verses are beautiful and atmospheric. The lyrics fit perfectly. Truely one to dismember and blaze through te game to.

I'm just going on a limb, most likely an over examination of this, but I'm guessing that this is linked to "insanity", as put in Farcry 3: "Insanity is to do the exact same thing over and over and over again thinking for shit to change."

No, I think you're right. Gavin often uses a lot of symbolism and multi-layered meanings, not only in his lyrics, but also in his videos and even some of his melodies and harmonies. I'm sure the repetition was a deliberate artistic choice.

Cosmo Costanzo Due to certain events in the first game, Isaac is one of the few people with the necessary knowledge to destroy the source(s) of the Necromorphs. He's also probably the guy with the most experience fighting them.

Cosmo Costanzo Well I guess the only cure is killing them and Isaac does that. So that is why he is the cure.
It's simple word play. A cure is essentially a solution to sickness, a problem.
"You are a sickness, I am the cure." Isaac is the solution to the Necromorph problem: Kill the shit out of it. The phrasing was actually pretty normal back in old action movies, including the Matrix where Agent Smith tells Morpheus that humans are a disease and that he: The AI/Machines were the cure.

Most of the time your songs are better than the game's or film's they're based on. This is no exception, i'm not a fan of horror games personally but I like this song a lot.
