The title is correct. It's a process of half-killing of the body. It's more about extremely good physical and mental health.
Clint is a legend, Seal Team 3 and then 6 then "other agencies". For the UK people, the "regular" US Navy Seals are like a more elite version of the Royal Marines. Whilst they (SEALS) are Special Operations they have Seal Team 6 which is the same as our SBS. This guy was the best of the best.

The royal marines are NOT equals to the SEAL teams. They may be excellent at what they do, but not even close to comparable. Different jobs entirely.

interesting that on 'the outside' we are all steered away by our nanny-society from having ANY CONTACT AT ALL! with things from the past that might (they all assume will) 'trigger' us, when we can see here that these things can be faced, stared down and beaten (what IS supposed to happen when we're 'triggered', anyway?)
