Hi, new sub and Grounded veteran here! I have always built where you are instead utilizing the plateau (where your stairs are) as my base and building a palisade fence where the mushrooms spawn over by the root. I start my build there as a weevil/ aphid farm as I don’t typically use bandages until I start getting into the black ant lab/ later game. Just found your channel and this vid.. didn’t notice you posted this 3 weeks ago, sorry. I was just going to say take your time and really farm up a lot before heading into NG+ you especially want to find and get all milk molars, the megas will carry over you haven’t found all of them.
This is my first video, this was on my recommended page. I am in love with your base and I will be going back to the beginning of this playthrough and watching every episode. Probably bad that I'm starting with part 20 but I'm here.
My favorite base location is under the porch, two sections towards the sandbox from the Wolfspider location. level it out with a basement and then build 3 floors. It's a nice spot to build a line up to the top of the porch and a regional tower up from there. The major plus is that you are close to lots of stems and pebbles... Oh, and only one wall that you have to fortify and protect.

Thanks! I bet you are just as creative and some! We all have different styles we can think up! Don't compare yours to others. If it's not the same, doesn't mean it's not creative! Keep building!

Really good job fighting all thos bugs. I don't know this helps but entity cram with grass can make the bugs go really wacky,
this ladybird I was having to fight just decide to go "DÉJÀ VU I'VE JUST BEEN IN THIS PLACE BEFORE" and just skyrocketed off of the map because of some grass I placed on the ground😂
Also really like your editing Style, it's quick and smooth shows us the best bits of the game play.
🤣 Gotta be careful with that! Walking on too much loose grass can make you do funky things, too.

In regards to the milk molars for NG+, you keep your gold upgrades, and your max mutations. The rest resets.
If you didn’t know idk if you have the underaged unlocked yet but if you go in there there will be a pipe with a quarter sticking out of it and if you climb on top and go inside the pipe there will be 5-6 scarabs that can’t run away
Yeah, I just haven't gone under there yet in this world. Soon though!

Does does seem like a good place for a base, however you might want to add large walls for big raids. Idk.
@ajfirefox5095 Definitely! I've been close to throwing up temporary barriers just while I push to the end of this world. But everytime I think about it, I start thinking about what else to build because I also want to build more 😂

For convenience? No. For base defense? Absolutely the worst spot.
I think its not great for early game because you need bugle but for late it might be ok but you can't make a good sipline ti the upper back yard that was added in 1.0
