Interesting stream! Stunty has a good point in making a difference between “record labels” and “reissue companies”. But some reissue companies are actually also good record labels 😅

Great chat guys. You've got me thinking of which label I'd consider picking. I guess Atlantic would be an obvious choice, from jazz to soul and then into rock with a definite impact on the musical world. Cheers Nige

Stunty’s logic that off center pressings don’t occur is ridiculous. There are many more older machines in use than the newer machines. Thus off center variations certainly can occur as they always have.

You misunderstood me : Arnaldo was talking about a pressing plant that supposedly only uses top new pressing machines. So either they are lying about it, or the record Arnaldo was reffering to was not pressed there.

@@StuntrockConfusion sorry I misunderstood. If you like, I will remove my comment. My apologies. I casually listen while manually cleaning records using the PACVR system so my attention is not at its peak. Are you familiar with this system developed by an ex naval scientist that worked with water purification on nuclear submarines?

@@wickedexile4531 Yes, I am familiar with it, and I heard him talking about going deeper into the groove, to the bottom. But the audio signal is on the sides, so I think this is overdoing it.

@@StuntrockConfusion Neil understands groove geometry and how his process has developed using this factor along with vinyl formulation, surfactant chemistry, agitational forces and numerous other factors that any qualified scientist would employ in their research. You choose the level of engagement in our hobby to the level that suits one. Always enjoy your perspective over the years. Best always, Tony
