i got a 2014 one a year ago with about 45,000 miles on it. I e out about 50,000 miles on it so far with no issues. I really love the look of it. People at the gas station often ask about it or tell me how much they like the looks of it. It’s fun to drive too. Definitely the coolest out of the small vans

    Outstanding review Sofyan.
I can easily tell that Ford nailed things precisely well with this new version of the Transit Connect as it's a dramatic improvement in a boatload of areas over the previous version, such as the pairing of the 2.5 L 4-Cylinder Engine with the 6 speed automatic transmission :)

It turns so beautifully, and I have the shorter van with windows all around. Mine is not tippy at all, it feels solid, however we had a trip through the mountains a couple years back and had really high winds, and we for sure felt the wind moving the van a bit. The passenger seat and back seat are quite hard and need some padding for passenger comfort. This is my family vehicle and when I first bought it got lots of comments but they are getting more common. Color choices are limited, mine is white. I had taken a red one out for a test but didn't want to be confused with an emergency vehicle. There is a dark blue one and a sort of grayish one. I love my trans connect and some day I will trade for a new one.

My workplace recently bought an XLT LWB Transit Connect Wagon to use as their shuttle van and I can say that it is a great vehicle. I have gotten multiple complements from customers that say it's nice or wonder what it is. It has leather seating for 7 and the window sticker (which they keep in the glovebox), says it cost only $29,580, which is a pretty good deal for what it is.

I was looking at used T/C, but went with a 2013 Ram C/V, as the Transit Connect didn't seem to have much ground clearance, an item to consider if you live in snowy areas.

  • @billjoat

I have one. Mine is a 2014 XLT van. Got about 116,000 miles on it and nothing major except a compressor @10000 miles ago. I get about 23 mpg in the city and @25 mpg highway as I tend to push the speed limit HARD. I feel as though its rather peppy for what it is. Quite often many will pull behind the other guy at a light and I'll either take off quick or sandbag for the first 1/2 mile then ZOOM off!! Good vehicle

Thanks for doing this review. I already ordered a Transit Connect and will have to wait as much as 6 months to get it. This video will help me to plan to configure the van for my bicycle repair work. The companies that make the racks, shelving and tool boxes to go in this are not ready yet.
I wish it had one of the diesel engines available from Ford Europe. I thought I was going to miss the taller roof of the older Connect, but this is about the same height as the old Econoline.

@@luperamos7307 The van has been perfect. It has given no trouble at all. The bike shop is now closed and I have unbolted the tool box out of the back and the van is now a grocery getter and carries my own bicycles.
The only things I don't like is the outside rear view mirrors are too small. Ford should never sell the van without windows with the regular mirrors. Also, the plastic cover on the outside edge of the driver and passenger seats has broken. Other than that. It has been a great van.

@@chrisdaigle5410 Thanks for responding. I bought the 2014 model of this car used and I heard it's very similar to a Ford Focus. Some people said that the engine is not strong for the size and that the transmission could fail. I don't know how many miles you have on it so far. But I really like the car otherwise and would still want it to last me a long time. I am just not sure how dependable they are. I might look into a transmission fluid flush. I think with the options available on the new Transit Connect (short or long wheelbases and two I4 engines, plus two, five, or seven seats), owners of full-sized cargo vans who don't need all the space their vans offer will give up their full-sized cargo vans to get the smaller and more economical Transit Connect Van, and families who want a fuel-sipping seven-passenger vehicle will opt for the Transit Connect Wagon.

Many European diesels are not compliant with US emissions regulations. To make them compliant, it needs to have all kinds of complicated emissions control equipment that increases the cost of the engine and lowers the fuel efficiency. Besides that, diesel fuel is about 5% to 15% more expensive in the US than gasoline.

    • @Dave2four
      @Dave2four 10 лет назад

EPA and CARB regulations have made owning diesels much more expensive here in the US. It's why so few manufacturers even bother to offer them to American buyers.

I understand that the 4-cylinder is better for fuel economy but a V6 would deliver better power figures and I feel like for a “wagon,” as Ford calls it, that could carry up to 7 people a 6-cyl would be much better. OR they could have just turbo charged the 4-cyl. Or offer both. A turbo charged 4-cyl or naturally aspirated 6-cyl

I like to plug my tablet into the aux jack and listen to my music, and now somehow the audio has become muted, and there's no possible way to un-mute it. Many of us in the company have tried and failed, and nothing in the manual tells you how it happened or how to fix it. Both the aux input and the phone audio are now muted, and there's no way to undo it. This really sucks. Ford has made their audio systems way too complicated.

InsuranceRipOff I don't think cargo will mind. People carrying versions have windows though.

Instead of buying a truck or SUV I bought a Transit Connect passenger as a family vehicle.

fordtrucklover14 According to Ford's website, despite the rumors of the E-Series being discontinued for this year, it is actually still in production for the 2014 model year. Just log on to the web link below & check it out :)

The new full sized transit will do a fine job of replacing the Econoline. Give it a chance.

This vehicle is not a Ford, it is made in Korea. It is better than a Ford product, but still low in quality.

178 Horse power for a run-about van lol.. Our new Diesel 2014 connect in Europe has 75 bhp. Why do yanks need so much power to sit at 55 mph endlessly? We cruise at 120km/ph with much less than half the horses. I guess it's like Mcdonalds bigger is better. Shame about the planet.

+Dave Nally Unless you live in 1955, 75 HP is not in any way sufficient for a 3600lb+ commercial vehicle. Probably not the best idea to get rear ended with valuable cargo because you came off the on-ramp doing 40. Also, hilarious double standard since in another video I was watching, some European dude was trash talking about how powerful European 4 cylinders are.
