Surely, as a foreigner in England I have a right to be governed in England by those capable of governing and those governing for the benefit of all of England's people. Johnson governed England just, solely for his own benefit, he tricked his acquaintances and colleagues in such a way that they have all, that's every one of them, lost credibility, thier position and thier honour. He must surely be punished in the most severe way possible within the law and also outside of the same laws that he is trying to use to protect his dirty arse.

EDIT: People who earn lower salaries are, as in this case, entitled to benefits to top up their income, they cannot survive without it. The girl stitched up by Stratton was legitimately claiming benefits.

I lost 2 Grandparents in 2020, one in the first wave and the other one in August when we had local lockdowns, it was horrible not to be able to be there for them. And the funerals were so sad with the limited numbers who could attend. Not to mention not being able to hug my mum who'd just lost her dad. Those 2 meter distances felt so difficult at that point.

He received a card over the garden wall from his boss and his workmates drove past the house in their vans. No Party was allowed for his Boss or his Workmates to say Thank You and Goodbye to him. Why should someone in parliament be any different when they already have more privileges than the majority of us. I normally do not comment on political issues, but. because we care for our elderly surviving parents separately, I could not see my partner for months. We abided by the guidelines, cancelled the family Christmas through fear of being arrested. All this time they were laughing at us. Matt Hancock was driving up and down the country, they were having parties. It's disgusting. This and other shambolic decisions have turned me, a 30 year conservative voter, away from the party for good.

Revisiting this today. Watched the whole thing at the time. The thing that stayed with me through all of this is the fact that Johnson obviously felt that because he thought something - it must be the case for all. In his mind he was 100% correct and therefore he could not be wrong - despite evidence to the contrary. This wasn't a stitch-up. It was the balancing of fact against fiction. I understand the committee's decision was unanimous despite their poles apart politics. Johnson ran out of road. His art of speaking counts for nothing when it comes to truth versus lies. No matter who you are - in the end that catches up with you. His argument that his misremembering things wouldn't matter because he felt people would accept he was following all guidance.....when at his parties and that behaviour was acceptable. I'm glad he has gone but don't forget who put him there and who enabled his lies and deceit.

You have to say - he is so very like Trump in that one respect of mindset. The two of them just don’t get how what they’re thinking or doing could be wrong. To them, by nature of them thinking or doing it, MAKES it correct. ‘I am the state!’ A minor detail but a massive point of comparison between how the two of them think, and also act when they’re brought to account - they genuinely just seem incapable of understanding it, and in Johnson’s case that same state of mind we know goes all the way back to his childhood. If you haven’t read the comments his old Headmaster at Eaton made about Boris thinking he was special and the rules not applying to him - worth a read, the parallels to today are shocking!

As he delivered evidence slowly, consistently and bouyantly in watertight fashion, I still made absurd attempts to counter with (now) embarrassingly nonsensical slippery bulls☆☆☆ to, not just save my bacon, but to exonerate myself completely to the level that he should himself feel silly for daring to charge me with such a thing.... I lied and lied and said I tried once ages ago but hadn't for more ages (hoping admitting a minor fail would offer some nobility to mask my utter bollo☆☆☆) ..... he simply pointed to the all the while presence of with the box of 10 Marlboro in my school uniform shirt breast pocket..... I then blamed a friend asking me to hold them in fear of their own parental grievances and me being the saint.

we in the UK have gone through too much, at the expense of the torries. The french go bezerk over pension increase. If you compare the retirement age to the UK its still low in franch. Here in the UK we are having to pay an increase in tax and also the fares in travel has gone up, council tax gone up, why the hell are we not doing anything about it. We should be rioting and kicking the torries outa no10, yet france is setting an example for the UK.
