- 2 trails I made for UK Gold and a 5 min documentary with some of the cast of Blakes 7, Gareth Thomas, Jaqueline Pearce, Jan Chappell and the late David Jackson.
I think its from around 93 - Развлечения
I'm watching in 2019, RIP Avon.
RIP Gareth, Paul, Jacqueline and David.
Gan was killed of far too early, silly decision, for the sake of one dramatic moment the rest of the show was never quite the same
I don't know if any fans agree but I think Blake's idealism in which at the start Avon mocks eventually began to influence Avon.
I agree with Garreth, I didn't appreciate Gan's death. I like Gan.
Great to see this. Thanks for posting. Blake's 7 was unique and all the more awesome for the limitations that meant it had to concentrate on character and clever plots rather than flashy effects.
Having a female arch-villain in B7 such as Servalan was awesome in billions of ways and IMO Jacqueline Pearce was an awesome actress to play Blake,s arch-enemy and it has never been repeated in sci-fi having female arch-enemies .
There was Diana from the US series"V".She was just as bad if not more bad than Servalan
I always have in my view said the best B7 characters are Vila Avon and the arch-enemy Servalan herself I cannot see B7 without Servalan as the arch-enemy and regular villain
They show really needs a follow up but not with new Actors, love to see Avon and Vila havig escaped the massacre on Guda Prime being jooiined by a new band of freedom fighters.
What on earth does he mean, it was black and white, good v bad?? No it wasn't that's why its good! How can you say Blake and Avon are 'good guys'? Avon is a thief who acts to save others but actually fights his better nature. Blake is a crusader who is willing for millions to die if his crusade succeeds. Blake is the kind of person who turns into Stalin.
Stefano Pavone I really didnt get that take from him, but maybe you're right. I just wish snooty people hadnt persuaded him that B7 was beneath him so he left...he was so awesome in the last episode. and as for leader...yes, that was the plan after destroying Star one..I think a good case for Blake becoming a dictator like Stalin and getting paranoid and turning on Avon...
Ooh this brings back memories,I thought Jenna was dam good looking women, she fitted in those leathers very nice mmmm.
"one man who will fight to the last drop of their blood"
Unless he gets bored after 2 seasons...
This is great! I thought I'd seen most ot the Blake's 7 related interviews, but this was new to me. Thanks for posting.
I mean actors as good as the original cast bcus they were incredible
I just watched the Blake 7 dvd box set over the weekend as I was laid up with a stinker of a cold I remember watching it on the BBC many years ago and it is still good and it finished to soon
Jenna's leathers...
How soon we forget how bad VCR recordings were.
Yes, but if that was a DVD with a scratch, it would simply stick, with the VCR, they carry on playing regardless...

Yup, same with CDs, if they skip, the whole album is basically fucked, whereas a vinyl record can still play even if it has a bad scratch by simply lifting the stylus past it. New tech isn't always better.
Great upload! What year were these interviews recorded?
The idea of Blake,s arch-enemy Servalan been a woman was awesome in billions of ways and it broke the mould of arch-enemies been largely male which Servalan was intended to be originally .
Avon Forever
Hi there - saw your upload and saw the quality of the tape that you had uploaded it from - so have collated and uplaoded this from my off-air recordings for you - so hopefully an alternative quality plus the trailers that they ran!
Thanks for this, never seen it before. Great!
Great stuff, got any more like this?
True Brilliance and great that there were so many ST references. Almost a continuation of ST but in a new World...England
Tracking?
Looks like this was recorded at the beginning or end of a tape, stuff in the middle was alwas in better nick. However, thank you for posting, really interesting.
Hi Glenn, finally got round to looking through my Blake's 7 tapes themselves (the copies of the Lost Interviews had come off my Doctor Who tapes) - and found the two 'mini programs' that you did - with no DOG on them :) Link here - Blakes 7 Interviews (after starting)
4:09 At least in the example given here, that humor was too subtle for me.
they need to make a big budget movie of this with quality actors
I always assumed Gan asked to be wrote out, but Gareth says at 4:55 that "they" wrote him out..Hmm you learn something new every day.....PS- i've got the whole series (52 episodes, wow) on DVD and the definition is magnificent..Also with subtitles 'on' I don't miss a single word, and can stop, rewind and replay any bit that I want to analyse in detail..I first watched the series on Brit TV 40 years ago and had forgot how bloody good it was, some of the scripts by Nation and others are full of depth, so full credit to the writers too..:)
Thank you! :)
Jan
nice to see the cast reflecting back on the characters-thanks for posting!
