- On the 13th of April 2014 a gathering of Blake's 7 fans teleported down to Steventon Village Hall in Oxfordshire for a fun filled day featuring original costumes and props as well as "special effects supremo" himself, Matt Irvine, who was heavily involved in the show itself.
Join me, as we return to Gauda Prime!
* Produced by The Geeks Handbag / Small Fruit Films
** "Blake's 7 Theme" composed by Dudley Simpson, performed by The Geeks Handbag
How cool is this? Can't believe this was in a village hall.
Thanks Starfish1, it was a great day. I'm such a big Blake's 7 fan I was in heaven that day :)
Well thanks for taking the time to make the video and for sharing it.
Blakes 7 props and the music to Starfleet it can't get much better than that.
It certainly doesn't! :)
I remember actually having a go with an original B7 Liberator Gun and teleport Bracelet, that a friend, who used to work in special effects at the BBC. Brought in to show me, Was Great :)
Ah I've always wanted my own teleport bracelet Patrick, and an Orac replica would look nice on my shelf too! ;) Thanks for watching and commenting :)
Ok, this is freakin' awesome! Yeah, I'm so jealous of this. I WANT a Liberator gun. So much cool stuff!!! I know you had a blast!!!
Thanks Wesley! A truly awesome day , next time I will nab you a Liberator gun! ;)
I had no idea Paul Darrow had passed away this year - Totally Brilliant actor and another cast member who has sadly passed on! I met Mat Irvine when I was a child and while Blakes 7 was still running. He bought some models and did a talk at the old Wembley Conference Centre at the Model Engineering Exhibition in the late 70's. He also bought along K9. But it was only a handful of items then. It would be nice to see them again.
Wow! What a huge amount of props and costumes! I love the fan interviews as well!
Very nice video, thank you! It was very cool to see the original Liberator again, although it was somewhat sad to see it in such a decayed condition. Why didn't Matt Irvine refurbished it?
It's the decayed Liberator from 'Terminal'. It's supposed to look like that.
@@simonfernandes6809 Hello Simon! Ah, yes, you're right. My error! 🙂
Thanks. The low budget did limit the series unfortunately, but the design team were very good and Matt Irvine and Ian Scoones did a lot with very little money.
I AM JUST LOVING ALL OF THIS I AM A HUGE FAN OF ALL BRITISH TELEVISION SCI-FI SERIES FROM DR. WHO, BLAKE'S SEVEN, SPACE:1999, U.F.O., SAPPHIRE AND STEEL, ETC. AND I LOVED THIS GATHERING OF FANS FOR BLAKES SEVEN. IF I WERE ONLY THERE WITH THE MONEY I WANTED , OBOY!!!GARY BAILEY
Brilliant. I love it.
I'm quite dismayed at the poor state both the Liberator and Orac are in here. Given what the USS Enterprise was treated to in a complete restoration and kept in a museum, Matt should know better as a custodian of such props. Where did he drag them out from, his garden shed?
I was/am a big fan here in the states-a huge thanks for posting this!
Thanks, interesting upload.
Have a nice evening
My favourite childhood tv series ever
I literally remember Matt Irvine on Swap Shop in like 1983 I recognised him instantly after all these years!
Interesting to hear how Orac's key worked.I wonder if the flashing lights were done with a Decade Counter chip clocked by a 555 Timer chip maybe?
I would have been inspecting the costumes all afternoon; though I suppose they didn't let you actually get up on the stage. Still, how very cool to see them after all these years, and looking so intact.
Teleport now!
It's on forces TV.
I missed this day. Recognise so many wandering around in this video especially Richard Who. May be next time.
It was such a great day, I hope they do another one next year, good to see you there if they do :)
Nice! Fun peek.
I remember thinking that Orac was just a fish tank with fairy lights inside. All I remember of Blake's Seven is Orac, Servalan, the theme tune and the final scene of 'Blake', but I was only five years old. But Mat Irvine is a model-making genius; pity that everything's CGI now and that craft is gone.
How much do those oracs cost?
One hundred million credits!
A great upload, cheers. I am re watching Blakes 7 at the moment, and I just wondered... does anyone know what became of that Security Robot... is it in a collection somewhere or did he even survive the 80's? Best wishes 🤖
5:05 Is that the "Charlie's Angels" theme I hear???
