    Gavin, you can always solder the wires directly to the motor tabs for a cleaner look. I did this and it looks amazing. I do not plan on removing my motor at anytime either.

    Hi. I love your presentation style and enthusiasm. However, I would really like to see you change the way you do your running videos. I have no clue how the buggy runs from those angles and video speeds. Please do more shots from the drivers (your) viewpoint at normal playback speed. Thanks and keep up the great work!

    • @RCKickschannel
      @RCKickschannel  4 года назад +1

      For the 2WD Tomahawk its about on the money for 2S but I can see with the extra weight and 4WD you would need more. I did see the ESC can run on 3S but I don't have a 3S battery that would fit inside the little TH.

    • @JDoucette
      @JDoucette 2 года назад

      Wow, so the 240S ESC can handle 3S. But can the 240S motor? Or, with these brushless motors, is it more about that there's really no limit to the motor speed except for possibility of overheating?

  • @Mini-z1994
    @Mini-z1994 4 года назад

    I would almost have the receiver under the driver instead & the esc a bit forward just so there is a bit more air going across it & perhaps a bit weird with the motor wires & the sensor cable needing too be even longer but would ofc help cool down the esc a bit more if you plan on running this hard on a large or several large 2s lipos that fit in the car in a row.

      @@RCKickschannel I'm so stupid for not taking pictures but I was just focused on fixing it. It looked as though something was spilled on it that ate the finish a bit. The electrical components inside were fine but the case was a mess. It was packed that way as the box was factory sealed when I got it. I was able to mostly fix it with taking it apart and hours of polishing. It did lighten up the etched lettering a tiny bit that I wasn't happy about. And still no response at all, not even a " sorry to hear that" from Kyosho. Really made me consider canceling my Fantom pre-order but I couldn't bring myself to do that. Ha ha ha. Nice video Gavin. Keep up the good work buddy. I was saying solder the wire to the motor while watching. 🤣🤣🤣

    The car is gorgeous. I love the vintage kyoshos. I have two questions that maybe you can help me with: first why does the Kyosho electronic speed controller not need a fan or heat sinks? My second question is about putting a brushless motor into one of the four-wheel drives like the optima's or turbo optima. Would you be snapping belts all the time because of the increased power?

    Hi Gavin,
    Love the channel. I have a question about the 490 that you reomved. How does it compare to other brushed motors? I've looked for reviews but can't get anything empircal about how quick it is. It is comparable to a stock 540 Mabuchi sliver can from tamiay or has it got more omph? I've got 4 of the legendary series cars and as you've found, the non tub chassis cars are a pig to get a brushless setup into due to the fan. I'm not prepared to fork out nearly the buggies worth again on a power system so am stuck with a brushed setup. However the stock siver can hangin out the rear just doesn't sit right with me so I'm looking at a kyosho brushed motor and hobbywing ESC.
    TIA for your response 😊👍

    • @RCKickschannel
      @RCKickschannel  4 года назад +1

      I would only put the 490 in light 2WD buggy cars, things like the optima need more power to get up and go. I would say the 490 is just like the silver can really give or take.

    I did get the Kyosho Le Mans brushless motor and also the Le Mans ESC. I got them for my Kyosho Ultima car. I also it got my for my Kyosho Turbo Optima a Kyosho ESC and a Brushless motor too. They are also Le Mans. I live in California and Kyosho has a presence here. That is good. However, Team Novak which was also in California is gone. What does this mean? It would appear that a lot of foreign companies are cheating and crushing USA companies. Only Team Tekin is left. I bet they will be gone soon too. We need innovation, unfortunately Chinese companies do not innovate they just steal. Very sad. I am not saying that Kyosho steals but the Chinese companies they deal with do.
