Only 9 comments..I can't believe it give this band a good listen ..this and all there albums you will find that you just found a new band to fall in love with..unbelievable ,talented musicians and like so many great albums you must listen more then once.you owe yourself a small time to listen for a life time of (I Believe)a great band to look forward to when that mood hits ya to kick back with the headphones and enjoy the new( yet old) band you decided to give a chance to BRAVO FOR YOU.. and if not Well you took a chance and that says more about you then I could ever say about a band ...
I've always been a fan of complex layered production, such as, All Things Must Pass, Queen, Ambrosia (Somewhere I've never traveled), Genesis, 10 CC, The first Boston album, (until radio wore it out), The Fixx, and this is a great example. I have loved this album since it first came out and arrived at the Progressive Rock station that I worked at in Erie Pa.
Radio will never wear out More Than a Feeling. If I'm ever stranded on a desert island. I'm taking a copy of More Than a Feeling. If I get to take 3 songs, I'll take Surgery Hours and Walk Away by the James Gang.
Absolutely! Deadly Delicious one of my G,. O. A. T. s... Busy trying to remember what the Apple dance song title was.... Everything's ripe and nuts are blue, {>;)€
Knew the first time I heard this on KMET (Los Angeles) that it was a one-of-a-kind band, and crazy talented album. Went down to Tower Records on the Sunset Strip, and bought it immediately! Sadly, it didn't get the massive airplay it takes for a band to get widely known, but I never, ever forgot how talented these guys were, and I try to turn friends on to them, any chance I get, even 40+ some years later. Honestly, I'd call them my all time favorite underplayed band. This LP reminded me of Boston's first LP, which was packed front to back with great songs, as this album is. My personal favorite, 5,000 Years, Don't Know, Can't Tell...
What song was playing on that station? They only had 2 songs that hit the billboard hot 100 here in the USA. 5-7-0-5 (which made the top 40), and What A Night.
I have three of their albums. This one is actually their first and self titled City Boy, released in '76. The two following, released in '77 are "Dinner at the Ritz" and "Young Men Gone West". I love this album, though Dinner at the Ritz is my favourite. The music gets into your head and is very layered and lovely . . . . I forgot about them for years and am now happy to revisit.
My favorite is The day the earth caught fire. But I do love their other albums. I have 3 of their cd’s lol I lost 2 albums that were on cassettes 🙁 I was drinking wine tonight and thought “ tonight is a City boy kind of night.” Living in the past a bit but idc I’m enjoying myself. ✌️😎🍷

I'm a loony" verse with farting sounds :) Just scored this and Dinner at the Ritz double CD for $13.55 on Ebay. Psyched. I lived off my badly warped LP since the early 80's.

Effing brilliant. Haven't listened to this for ten years. Originally introduced by my younger brother on a cassette in his car. Great shame such talented guys went for harder rock in their follow ups and faded away. I'm told that they were going to release Hapkido kid as a single but were pipped at the post by that crap Kung fu fighting by Carl Douglas which might have gone to No 1? On such fine lines is the future drawn.
I don't think that's true, although it's possible. Kung fu Fighting was released in September 1974, way before this album. Hapkido Kid was released as a single and they performed it on Top of the Pops, I think it is on You Tube.
@@grahamharley4895 Thanks for the reply. It's my guess that the reason for their failure in this respect was timing. Their albums came out just as punk was hoovering up all of the media's attention and it was difficult for a group like this to get much air play except on specialist shows. A pity.
So mighty yes, some a newly came thing to me... 😊 But it was for now, some absolutely minds breaking and Worlds opening just to me! ❤ Great stuff allover! 😅😂 Wow, just gotta luv it anyways! 🎉
My first time hearing this band, apart from the 5705 single a million years ago. Substantial 10cc vibe but not the same thing. Ha ha - lots going on. This is going to take a while! Good.
C'mon people! These guys are so amazing, give a listen. Been a fan since 1976
Boa amigo
For the longest time I thought I was the only person that appreciated this group!!
You may be lucky that way. Mutt Lange did much better with Def Leppard later, but maybe we are all confused now.
Had never heard of the group; just found out about them a few months ago. Little by little will start buying their whole discography.

Agree with all the comments here, the best band no one has heard of. Fantastic stuff.
Yes, but quite a few people have heard the lead guitarist...
They cool but the 70’s German British band “Lake” is the best band no one has heard of

Superb album. They made quite a few, but this was still their best. Fantastic harmonies, playing, commentary, and humor. Thanks for posting.🙂
Absolutely best rock ✌️👌👌🥁🥁❤️❤️❤️ wunderbar diese musikalische Zeit 😀😀 I never forget
