I think we all watch these and weep for our lost youth..I know I do. Just wish is appreciated those days more when I lived them. Still have my MC jacket and Docs, though.. :)
I bought this when it came out as a single. This aired on TOP on the Thursday, I bought it next day. F**king hell those were the days. And to top it all, i still have it, played twice only. What a great era, gone forever I suppose.
I'm here because I was there, Newcastle City Hall 1981, so good, such a hot time, check out associates, mighty wah, commotions, clash, cheap trick, eurythmics and the Goddess Siouxsie.
Thanks for the memories....1984 ,live in Toronto,Canada, filmed, taped for a later broadcast on one of our FM stations CFNY FM....The stage was all guaze wrapped poles going every which way ,from the floor of the stage to the ceiling...great memorable eve...Thanx, Gemma Sorry any of you younger kids could not be there...but watch those listings.
Saw them play it live in beautiful Toronto,Canada...my fellow British Commenwealth friends! 1984...what a Summer we had...the stage was .lets see...Long poles, wrapped in surgical 'gauze', and the pole extended from the upper reaches of the ceiling to the stage..he would cruise about through them ,if one were in a forest of medical supplies. Thank-you for this, G ,T and the Girlz...all older now, happy, successful and content! XXOO
Useless but fun trivia: Echo and the Bunnymen was a large inspiration that Richard Kelly drew from (heavily) while writing Donnie Darko. If you go through Echo and the Bunnymen's song catalogue, you'll find a lot of other parallels between their music and Darko.
