- This was our first trip to Sarasota after Hurricane Milton made landfall as a Category 3 hurricane on Siesta Key. We started off checking out some businesses further inland before making our way to downtown Sarasota and Sarasota Bay.
We did also drive out to Lido Key, St. Armand's and Lido Beach. That footage will be in a separate episode on this channel soon. Be sure to subscribe so you won't miss it.

So happy to see you two are ok. We used all your videos 3 yrs go as we ventured to seista key ( Jamaica Royale) for our inaugural visit in 23. Came back longer in 2024 and were planning on a months stay in 25. Time will tell if we are able to return. Our prayers are for all the owners as they try to maneuver thru ins companies and restore rebuild. Here in the Jersey shore we remember 2012 and Super storm Sandy so we know the devastation. Sending positive vibes and prayers for all suffering thru these past 2 hurricanes. Thank you both for all you do
Glad to see the damage was not too bad. Thx for the video!
It's great that the café and the restaurants don't seem to be damaged and are open as usual. I wonder how Bradenton is east of the freeway. Last October I stayed at the Red Roof Inn there, which doesn't sound fancy but was a hidden gem for my road trip along the Gulf Coast. It was great, on a large lake/bird sanctuary. It's near the Waffle House, next to an Anna Maria Island Oyster House.
Thanks for sharing!
I’m glad to see that Sarasota is in decent shape overall. Next time you’re in Bahia Vista st. after a storm, we need an update on Yoder’s, not just Der Dutchman. Those pies are a national treasure. Also, the brave men and women who are repairing our electrical infrastructure are not just lineman, they are Power Rangers. :)
Thanks for the updates..and as you say, it's s unfortunate that it had to hit hard anywhere.
Over here on the other coast a small tornado passed right through my development and way too close to my house. I took a bike ride to see where it went. Took the tops off a whole lot of trees but as far as I could tell only hit one house. Glad you were safe.
We stopped by OfKors last year...as seen on Explorcation...very good!
Thanks for the video. What's your overall consensus on how things turned out? Hoping to move to this area in January, curious if that's a reasonable at this point.
💯👍thx 4 the update
My daughter lives in winter haven they made it ok and safe but I think she’s ready to move back home to WV she was pretty scared
My wife and I are very sad because we vacation on anna maria every year for a month now we don't know where we will go.
$3.19/ga - loved it; it's much better than $6/ga in CA. No wonder people are leaving CA; no hurricane will do as much damage as Newsom....Kamala is worse!!!
