Tim has a range of 5 octaves, which is totally amazing. Most opera singers can only do 3 octaves, and Tim can sing in any of those rages competantly for a professional. He is truly a national treasure. Have you reacted to Home Free's "How great thou art" ? It will definitely take you to church !!!
@@DrewsClues yep it's a tricky one to get past youtube censors. Their old label sdoes it to hurt them because they left & formed their own label which gives them greater creative control on their art. They blend so well together! Peter and Tim have collaborated on several songs. I have heard that they are putting out an album together, but I haven't heard a release date yet.
Great reaction!!! You should hear Tim's cover of "Can't Stop Falling in Love" and Peter Hollens with Tim singing Greensleeves to hear more of Time showcasing his range.
If you want to hear Tim's range highlighted, check out his solo Doo Wop songs where he records ALL the parts. They are on his RUclips channel (Tim Foust).
I forgot to mention, Peter and Tim have a few duets together as well. "Sound of Silence", "Bridge Over Troubled Waters", "Greensleeves", and "Misty Mountains".
Peter Hollens is one of those people that can sing just about any octave (except the low bass that Tim does). He does multi-track recordings of himself singing all the parts of the harmony and putting them together so you have a whole complete piece with only him being the singer. Quite the talent. If you like the bass boys you should hear-- Tim Foust, of course, from Home Free. Geoff Castelucci from Voice Play (probably one of the world's lowest). And our ever beloved Avi Kaplan, previously with Pentatonix but doing it solo now.
Enjoyed the reaction. A great demonstration of Tim’s range is his solo cover of Can’t Help Falling in Love that he recorded before he joined Home Free. Another song that shows his range is Home Free’s cover of Mayday.
Avi from the original PTX and Geoff from Voiceplay also have multi octave ranges. See Voiceplay's Ooogie Boogie song for Geoff's range. Tim goes even higher in Mayday while Chance takes over the Bass.
Yes, it is one of my fav of theirs...I listen to it all the time. I have a reaction to it but we are not able to post it...it's from a long time ago...we will try again to get it up. Many of their songs that we do we are not able to get them posed.
Assuming you liked what you heard, you should hear Peter Hollens and Tim Foust cover "Bridge Over Troubled Water" from Simon & Garfunkel. A goody from the sixties. Listen to the original first a couple or more times and then listen to Peter and Tim do it. I'm still flippin' that coin. No winners yet. And yes, Rob, the angel's voice with the beard and glasses. Oooooh, Yeah! And Tim, from bass to second tenor, no sweat. He can go an octave higher than that. 5-octave range. You've started down that Home Free rabbit hole -- there's no turning back now. It'll take you at least a day or two to listen to all their covers, and you will want to come back for more each time.
Challenge accepted! Tim's range covers about 5 octaves. Avi Kaplan (formerly of Pentatonix) has a wide range ( think "Little Drummer Boy" or "Hallelujah") also, although I'm not sure of the exact amount of scale he can cover. However, Geoff (pronounced like "Jeff") Castalucci from VoicePlay has a range similar to Tim's. One of the best demonstrations I've seen for Geoff is their cover of "Oogie Boogie Song" and he shows his range in the closing few bars. I think you'll be impressed. FYI, VoicePlay was on the SingOff reality show with Home Free. They tend to be a little more theatrical, whereas HomeFree has more country flavor and Pentatonix is more pop. Geoff also does a lot of arranging and, in fact, he arranged Elvira for Home Free's cover of it with the Oak Ridge Boys, if you haven't already seen it. Enjoy!
Peter Hollens has been on the internet for a long time, noted for doing overlay harmonies with himself. Check out his version of Dragonborn and The Parting Glass.
When ever possible you should definitely see them in person. I’ve seen them in person after finding them on RUclips and watching them in person is even better.
This is beautiful isn’t it?! Home Free is so good and so is Peter. Peter and Home Free collaborated on another song I Still Can’t Find What I’m Looking For and he’s collaborated with Tim Foust (Home Free’s bass) on many songs. Try Greensleeves, Sound of Silence, Bridge over Troubled Water. Try Home Free’s version of How Great Thou Art, Helplessly Hoping, Seven Bridges Road and a new one called Winter Song. Tremendous harmonies. Tim has a 5 octave range so he can go super low and tenor as well. Keep reacting!
As amazed as you are by Tim's range, you should definitely check out Voiceplay, and their bassist, Geoff Castellucci. They just released their cover of "You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch". Geoff is another one who is not human! They also have a cover of "Oogie Boogie's Song" from "The Nightmare Before Christmas", and he goes from the "basement" to the "rafters". After you've tried them, I suspect you'll want to modify your wheel. 😉
Definitely check out voiceplay, and as a little aside, Geoff has done an amazing cover of the Beatles "Blackbird"... He sings all the parts himself and crushes them all 👍👍👍
Don't forget their Little Mermaid medley! Geoff slides through his entire range (or at least most of it) at the end of the "Poor Unfortunate Souls" part.
First reaction of yours I've ever seen and I absolutely loved it for a couple reasons. 1) You understand vocal music. 2) I think you have sung in a choir/chorus. (takes one to know one! lol)
Tim excellent singer with massive voice range 🤪 Your review lovely and honest and very good. There are a few excellent base singers one does the song 16 tons, probably worth watching and reviewing. 😁🌹❤️👍👍

Home Free is definitely amazing and Tim’s voice is out of this world. If you’re looking for other groups like this, check out Voiceplay! Geoff Castellucci is an extremely talented Bass as well with an incredible range.
If you wanna hear some mind blowing bass notes? React to voiceplay oogie boogie song. And this is from a home free and Peter hollens fan. Well done on this one gal! I loved your reaction. I've played this every year at my sister's grave.

They don’t need a woman!...lol...their High Tenor...AUSTIN BROWN is totally awesome !!!!! Tim Foust ..the Bass has a5+ octave range !!!!!! He’s quite Incredible !!!!!!
Tim is a vocal monster..his vocal range is a little over 5 octaves...the only other bass i know that can cover a similar vocal register is Avi Kaplan and i believe his range is about 4 1/2 octaves...great reaction
Geoff Castellucci from VoicePlay is another amazing bass you should hear. He also does solo work. For the best examples I suggest Oogie Boogie Song by Voiceplay and Black Bird by Geoff.
Love the song & love the reaction....but why was the video backwards? I've watched this video a number of times & it threw me. Couldn't figure out why Tim & Rob were on Peter's right when they should have been on his left. Odd.
You want another Bass like Tim Foust, check out "The Headless Horseman" by Geoff Castellucci. He is part of an Acapella group called Voiceplay and you should check out their medley of "The Little Mermaid".

For Bass you want to check out Avi Kaplan. Though I think you should start with Change on the Rise, it doesn't show his range but in my opinion it is his best. His range is at least as great.
Oh, I know that bass, love him too. Liked him in ring of fire and all the other PTX songs I have done. I will check out the song you mentioned 🥰, thank you!!!

And Tim has trained both to sing lower. Although, I believe Geoff has a better high range than Tim. Geoff's abilities are so underrated.
@@johndeeregreen4592 I second that on Geoff's (Castalucci) range! Voice Play's song "Oogie Boogie" shows just that range.
