    I agree with the previous comments. There are levels to attain. Paddlefit being a top dog. Also agree that if you are going to collect data you should have accomplished paddlers with proper strokes being studied. I like the idea I just don't see the benefit of collecting data if proper technique is not used.

    There are number of certifications that paddlers can earn in order to become better paddlers and instructors. Check out the American canoe association, Paddlefit and the WPA to find a qualified teacher or to join the ranks to become a great instructor.

    They kept saying this is the first of its kind research. It is not! Anyone out there think the US canoe and kayak fed. and the USOC have not done this kind of stuff yet? They have. SUP is paddling you are standing instead of sitting but if done right it should be the same motion and same muscles used. If no then you are doing it all wrong.

    It does seem that they need to get a few of the basics in order--a good stroke and an effective paddle. But anything is a good start.. Also WHAT is going on with the speedo's? Get some pro's involved for accurate data.
