Director: "Ok gang. For Dynasty Warriors 8 we're going to need some innovative, concrete ideas. Anyone want to get the ball rolling?" Game designer: "....give Liu Shan a bench? Director: "BRILLIANT!!! That's an even better idea than Huang Gai's boat!! Man, this stuff just writes itself."
Liu Shans weapon actually fits him because of his "I act like an Idiot ,but I'm actually really wise" thing. Like, only an idiot would bring a bloody bench into a battle, right?
Erroratu Oh it could be something like this, Troop: What idiot brings a bench into battle?*Liu Shan comes with bench*Troop: You know you're a fool bring that with you?Liu Shan: Am I?*Liu Shan shows his skills on the battlefield.**Troop jaw dropped.*Liu Shan: Who's the fool now....bitch?*Liu Shan epic leave*
I love the way Liu Shan poses, he's like 'Look how much of a stylish motherfucker I am, OH, wait, too late, conversation got tabled and YOU GOT BENCH'D.'
Wang Yi - Look like a assassin killer. I love it more than the old one. Sun Quan - I like it cuz it's more flame, and the old one is kinda lame. Xiao Qiao - She is FLAWLESS and PERFECT, I hare her iron fan, finally Da Qiao and Xiao Qiao both changed their weapon. Lian Shi - Elegant and beautiful, she's good using crossbow, but this is more like a Wu Castle's character. Love It Yue Ying - It's kinda weak, but the weapon fits her costume, this weapon is the hardest to use. (Personal Experience) Liu Chan - It actually fit it pretty well, based on his character and history. Even tho Koei make him looks very good person and knows what he wants. But I'm Chinese, so I know better. But I still like this chair weapon, is special. Guan Suo - His old weapon's musou never used his weapon anyway, so this one goes perfect for him. Meng Huo - Like this weapon so much, it's Fun, It's Special and it fit him pretty well. I'm happy with all of the weapons changes For some reasons I juz luv it. U guys will never know how much I luv em.
Pen L Oh yea your welcome! Everyone does his or her own opinion about these weapons, whether it's good or bad. I am doing more videos of DW8 Empires and I already have some videos up like Xiao Qiao gameplay and Xun Yu gameplay. If you subscribe, you will see more DW8E videos like gameplay and marriage video (with having a child too). :)
Keigo Gomi Your welcome and thanks for watching! I will be doing more DW8 Empire videos, before the game comes out. You can always subscribe to see more.
I like Wang Yi's new weapon, It's made her looks more badass, more assassin and more cold heart which suit to her personality. (Trishula was good for her too, I like her musou that she's jumping above the enemies and hit them in their back but it didn't represent her personality - my opinion) Xiao Qioa's twin fans or single fan is perfect, I like her whatever her weapon is LOL cause she's cute. Sun Quan's weapon is great, KOEI made his move more unique, the previous was so simple. I hate Lian Shi's weapon, if her post when she stand still can change it would be great, it's too manly to her and it's doesn't suit to her elegance personality at all. for Yue Ying, I think KOEI tried so hard to find the weapon that suit to her personality which I think Dagger Axe is not it. She is inventor she must have something she can use many options in one weapon which I think the one (I dont know how to call this new one) KOEI changed on this is closest (arrows for long range attacks and sword for close attacks) Liu Chan's bench is very suit to his personality, this is a good changed.... but I have imagined that Vine Jar and drunk/cowardly move set is more suitable for him LOL Guan Suo's weapon is cool, perfect match for him. Meng Huo's weapon is nice and suitable for him but it would be great if it doesn't changed from pillar into giant poison mushroom that's all of my opinion :)
Oh my yes... I cannot wait to play this. So much nostalgia from DW6, especially the bladed crossbow and the twin fans. I think the new EX-weapons for each of their respective owners suit them. I still think the old weapons and move sets can be used (for created warriors). I look forward to what new characters are going to inherit the old weapons and hopefully some new and improved moves in their next Dynasty Warriors 9.
Opinions: 1. Liu Shan: The change into the bench is stupid. I mean, sure, it symbolizes his 'crouching moron hidden badass' status, but it just doesn't fit AT ALL with his status as a royalty. The rapier fits him better. 2. Yueying: It's kinda OK, I guess. The dagger-axe is kinda better but it could go to someone sinister since it eerily resembles a scythe. 3. Guan Suo: The sabatons is indeed more fitting for him than the nunchakus, since he really only bothered to kick his enemies to hell since day one anyway. 4. Wang Yi: The piercers don't really fit her, I dunno. 5. Sun Quan: It's perfect, his original weapon is kinda generic anyway. 6. Lianshi: I'd say the knives could go to her daughter Sun Luban, Lianshi's not really the type to use those kinds of weapons. 7. Xiaoqiao: Yay! The twin fans are back! 8. Deng Ai: Aww....but I LOVE his drill-lance! It's a unique weapon, I don't want it to be changed into a revolver! 9. Meng Huo: It's his weapon in DW6: Empires, but it's kinda weird. It's fine in my opinion, though.
I actually agree with most of these. What I think they should have done is made new characters to fill all the weapon roles. Give Liu Shan back the rapier (for the exact reason you stated, the bench REALLY doesn't fit him). Give the bench instead to general known for being amicable and friendly, and primarily sent as an envoy for the Shu kingdom: Jian Yong The crossbow fits Yueying's role as an inventor, so it makes sense. Let's give the Dagger axe to another prominent historical female that needs the role. Possibly Lady Wu. Sabatons to Guan Suo, Nunchaku to someone else I personally enjoy the idea of making Wang Yi some assassin-esque character. That said, give the trishula to another female role: Lady Mi, Liu Bei's second wife. Sun Quan is utterly fantastic with the fire sword. I'd recommend giving the standard sword to none other than Sima Yan. Give Lianshi back the crossbow, change the knives instead to Meng Huo and Zhurong's daughter, Huaman. It felts the sort of wild and mystical movesets of a Nanman. That, and it would give a plot love triangle between Guan Suo, Bao Sanniang, and Huaman where two women comedically fight over Suo (much to his dismay) Xiaoqiao keeps double fans, single fan goes to....hmmm. don't know. Deng Ai keeps the drill spear, give rotating crossbow to someone else. Meng Huo keeps steele, give the gauntlets to Cao Zhang (Cao Cao's third son, known for killing wild animals with his bare hands).
atleast yue ying got her weapon bsck and i like it so much more better since when she uses her dagger-axe it looks weird on her especially because she uses whirlwind in dw8xl it just doesnt fit her.
Most of the cast needs a make over and weapons n movesets. Huang Gai, a boat come on! and he rides waves as well! Guo Jia has a Pool Cue stick. The guy from Shu that has a bloody rug and whips people with it. There is plenty of medieval Chinese weaponary why cant they get any ideas! also they really need to make the cutscenes more dramatic. It seems like the last DWs have been toned down. It's like everyone is friends and there is no clear hate for any other faction.
I really love: - Xiaoqiao's air musou because it reminds me of her C6 in DW5 - How they combined Yueying's R1 and air musou and added a new air musou (which I think looks awesome) But there are things I'm gonna miss about their old weapons: - Lianshi's awesome healing rains, and I don't really like how her new musous look very aesthetically similar (sorry, I like flashy musous) - Being able to move immediately after the juggernauts come out of Yueying's R1 musou (it doesn't look like you can move anymore based on what I'm seeing in this video) - Hitting people with a giant rock from the ground using Yueying's ground musou - Being able to chain Wang Yi's ground musou to her air musou Overall I like these changes, but will miss Lianshi's old weapon (some aspects of it; though I do like how she is a melee fighter now, even though it doesn't suit her personality-wise) and Wang Yi's old musous the most. Absolutely loving the paired fans for Xiaoqiao though! p.s. I mostly play the female characters if you haven't noticed lol & thanks for the video ***** !
Sio rys Your welcome! I'm glad that you like the video! I also did a Xiao Qiao video a few days before this video. You can check it out, when you have time. I will be doing more DW8 Empire videos. You can always subscribe to see more.
Ah, Wang Yi's air musou and Sun Quan's spinny spins will be missed. I'm also a little saddened that Huang Yueying and Meng Huo lost their original weapons again, but at least, it was in favor of decent movesets that fit them. Great changes otherwise. Deng Ai might not be mounted top-tier anymore.
I'm loving alot of what i'm seeing.Though I was really hoping Meng Huo would have some proper boxing guantlets, ones that hit and not grapple.aslo with his old musou from D-warriors 5 and under when he did the ground pound.Either way i'm am liking the new moves and weapons.Especially for Guan Suo and Sun Quan.Though Wang Yi's and Lian Shi's are looking pretty good.I just want to make some created characters with these new movesets! Great video.
I'd say Sun Quan, Xiao Qiao, Deng Ai, and Meng Huo all improved slightly from this (Although Deng Ai's weapon is similar to Xiahou Ba's). Wang Yi, Lian Shi, and Yue Ying didn't need new weapons and these feel weaker than before. Liu Shan, and Guan Suo are absurd, but then again so are their roles in the games. It just sucks that the Empires games always end up with more stuff than the main releases and XL.
The Liu Shan weapon change is easily the one I have the most of a problem with. Tbh I think the rapier suits him better because while the bench/table does reflect his historically harmless nature, the rapier also does that as it seems very minimalistic and a somewhat lazy approach since the rapier he used looked quite small which is unusual considering a lot of his fellow warriors carry large weapons.
I think the rapier does suit better because of his appearance in the game. I hated the fact that the company gave Liu Shan the bench, but after playing as him with the bench.... He seems a lot more fun to play as IMO.
good lord... i really miss the old ones (DW 3, 4 and 5, mostly), there are just a bunch of those silly weapons, with those thousands of hits and stuff. not sure if i'll like it or not, just going to play the 9th of the series for the nostalgia
Honestly 6 was my favorite, so I'm happy to see my jungle man with his pillar lol all the weapons match accept Lian shi and Liu Shans... His weapon would go great with Sima Zhao I think
the best dlc weapon is lian shi's. speed weapon = my favorite weapon she even faster than wang yuanji knives and the adding charge attacks doing 4C and them adding 3C in same attack thats awesome my least favorite weapon is sun quan hard to control him when he using C attack and i sometimes miss the target i prefer the old wang yi yue ying liu shan and sun quan prefer the new on the other 5 weapons overall not bad but so useless to lose such great weapons like sword rapier Twin trishula and Dagger Axe
I love that Xiao Qiao gets her original weapon back. Deng Ai is ok but I prefer the lance more. Yue Ying's bladebow sucks, give her back the original weapon pls. Lian Shi gets a better weapon but I think she fits with the crossbow more even though it's one of the worst weapons...
Haha yeah, The new Meng Huo moveset is a deliberate nod to his DW6 Empires days where he had the Stone Pillar as his default weapon and it was even more bonkers as not only had you poison giant mushrooms but you also had the likes of him spinning coconut trees to knock out enemies with the loose flying coconuts! As for the Bench, well its crazy but then its also a tribute i think to old martial arts movies... Jackie Chan springs to mind with what he could do with a bench. As such whilst its ridiculous its ironically also very realistic in many ways haha
I thought they gave Guan Suo the greaves because his unique moves are largely kicks anyway. I don't get why they replaced so many easily reusable moves like Sun Quan and Xiaoqiao's. I also hope they give the bench to someone else. I get what they were going for but the moveset seems too cocky for Liu Shan. Still, the greaves look great on Liu Shan and the bladebow does suit Yueying well. Thanks for the video.
Lian Shi is one of my favorite characters. I am disappointed that her weapon was replace, but we shall try how her new moves will be once Empire comes out on the 24th of Feb. I miss her crossbow and I understand that Koei is trying their best improving DW characters however in my opinion for Lian Shi, I liked her old outfit in DW7 more than DW8 because her hair style on her was good, the armor was a lot better because it matched her a lot, and also her crossbow. Yes she may had a lot of disadvantages with the crossbow, but I believe that it suited her better. I cannot assume how her new weapon will be in DW8 empires, but I am willing to test it out to see. If it doesn't go well. I hope and please that Lian Shi gets her previous weapon (crossbow) back in the next Dynasty Warriors game.
TL;DR The bench destroys what characteristics that Liu Shan had, which fits with how he fight with the rapier. I don't think Koei understands just how much of a fuck up they did with Liu Shan giving him the bench weapon. Here's the thing, if they gave it to Liu Chan (the cowardly DW5 and below) than it would be reasonable considering his personility in the previous games. But the DW7 and up we have Liu Shan, a character who knows that attacking recklessly is stupid, a character who either waits for an oppurtunity to strike at a weak point or simply allows himself to lose if the loss benefits him, a character who wants the end things in a single blow. Like how a rapier works. The bench fits a character that is either genuinely lazy, or that he simply wants to do something in a very flashy way. Liu Shan's previous Musou attacks are quick and to the point, his first one is a quick strike that sends lighting travelling forward recking everything, his second onw is quick series of kicks that decimates everything in his path, his air is the 'facade' he puts up commeting that he loves going on a stroll acting somewhat idiotically. The bench's musous does not have Liu Shan's hidden side like the rapier. His first and second rapier musou shows his not so nice side, one lulls one into a flase sense of security, the other just's tells you to fuck off. His air is one that gives him the stupid facade, where he's goomba stomping everyone saying that he's on a stroll. The bench attacks look more fitting on a hammy character, or a character that was just too lazy to give a damn. Liu Shan is not that character, the mans gives a damn but he makes sure that only the ones he can trust knows that he gives that damn. There's also the musou attacks, the attacks don't give him that leader face he has to put up, WHICH IS VERY IMPORTANT BTW, and instead makes him look like a dumbass. The first ones really contradicts with his generally pacifist nature (he slams the damn thing into the enemies faces multiple times) the second one just looks like as well as make him look unnecessarily cruel, while the air musour just ehh. Then the rage musou, oh the rage musou. With the rapier, Liu Shan laughs and then says a in a really dark tone 'If I have no choice' and proceeds to reck everything in a fashion that looks like he just wants everything to end quickly. When he starts he spin his weapon around him in way that makes him look like he's going to murder everyone, the rage portion shows him to be thorough in his attacks giving him more power in his generally soft hearted motions. The end doesn't have repeated attacks like the bench, but instead two quick kicks followed with one powerful swing. That shows him wanting everything to just finish quickly, while the bench just makes him seem like he's enjoying this.
+The57912 I think the Bench fits Shan in the aspect of: his stupidity is an act. people underestimate what he is capable of. He acts lazy, but trains daily in secret. The chair works with his act of stupidity, as no one would think hes capable of fighting effectivly with it, but then proceeds to counter and bitch slap everyone from here to the great wall. I mean, dont get me wrong I prefer the Rapier to the bench, but I do believe that if any of the current cast was to get it, it fits him more than anyone else we currently have.
+The57912 As someone who REALLY likes Liu Shan, I can honestly say that the bench, for what it's worth DOES suit him. For one, the bench moveset is all ABOUT exploiting weak points. The whole gimmick of the bench is that at any time you can get into a 'counter pose' that, should someone try and attack you, you can fight back. A.K.A attacking when a person is open. I wouldn't call that reckless fighting. While I agree that the musous don't hint on the 'dark side' as much as I would like to, they do offer a more subtle glimpse. The first musou is similar to his rapier one in the sense that it is lulling the enemy to a false sense of security. And the bench's air musou is probably the first musou I've seen that has him go serious for once. And let me tell you how rare it is to see that guy get serious. And we seem to be seeing the Bench's Rage musou in a different way. If you slowed it RIGHT down to 0.25 speed, his face starts out almost blissfully happy but then it morphs into an almost BLANK face. It's not one that is happy, or satisfied, or even angry! It's kinda like in his rapier rage attack where he goes "I have no choice". Though it's not verbally said, the same message is coming across. He doesn't WANT to fight but he's got NO OTHER OPTION. And yeah, the bench's overall attacks look hammy. But think of it from a gameplay perspective. They may look silly and funny but that moveset, in the right hands, is probably one of the more POWERFUL ones in the game BECAUSE of that counter. If you knew when to time it right, you'd barely get any damage compared to some of the other characters. And if you met someone in the REAL world taking a piece of furniture into battle, you would think they're a bit weird yourself, at least until they start pummeling you with it like an expert. And that's the POINT! He HIMSELF is a character that is seemingly innocent and hammy in a sense, but one who is STILL an emperor and STILL someone that can kick your butt. He is a man who puts up a silly front in this naive belief that it would protect people. The bench moveset suits, in my opinion, either a lazy but strong person or a person who puts up a silly front but is secretly strong. And the second description fits Liu Shan. The bench fits Liu Shan's personality a bit better than the rapier. But hey, there might be another character in the future who would suit the bench even more than Liu Shan does currently. And I wouldn't be at ALL opposed if they changed his weapon back to the rapier because it DOES have better story/gameplay integration than the bench (I mean, I don't know how Xingcai's going to train him for a bench). Still though, I like the counterattack gimmick he had in the moveset and they did say they're gonna change things up a bit for DW9 so I hope, whether they change his weapon or not, he keeps that counterattack gimmick. The bench is silly but I personally think that, as it is right now, it suits him.
Still waiting Xingcai's fork and shield tho-- Liu Shan looks hilarious but still looking harmless tho... and Yueying is back with her DW6 weapon, hmm....
Dw 7 was the most spectacular work, also the xtreme and empire. Then they are just too greedy for dw8. I mean we were all astounded once they thought up a new style of musou.
feigay Their original weapons can still be used, but only for CAWs. You can still equip them with their old weapons, but they won't have their EX attacks.
I hope that someone will answer my last question in the last paragraph . it's good to see that the dlc weapons got a characters to use them but lian shi , meng huo & liu shan new weapons i haven't seen them unless they were in dw8 xl as dlc . Wang Yi : her weapon suits her and the musou is just amazing . Sun Quan : i hate him but since he have the flame blade i'll like him a little bit . Lian Shi : same as Sun Quan ( like husband like wife - hate them both but i'll like them a little bit - ) Xiao Qiao : finaly she have her twin fan back i'm happy for that . Yue Ying : i like her old weapon but the new one isn't that bad . Guan Suo : the worst character in shu will be my favourite for having his weapon the sabatons . Liu shan : a table or a chair ? ethierway i like his weapon it's funny i think he will be the first character i want to play as although i still hate him but i'll like him . Deng Ai : no comment . Meng Huo : i like the gloves better but still his new weapon is good whatever it's called . . . . What will happen to thier old weapons ? i'll miss all of Wang yi , Sun quan , Yue ying , Meng huo weapons ( the rest a little bit ) .
a chair? sure it fits his character and would make a pretty interesting moveset, but seriously? they should've at least made a character based on Jackie Chan to use it, it doesn't look good on Liu Shan
+akirajotaro I think it fits with Liu Shans portrayal in the DW series. Liu shan acts like an imbecile, however is really intelligent. He claims to be lazy, but trains daily making him stronger than what people think. so when he shows up with this chair, it fits his image of being an idiot: "LOL, he has a chair!" Then he subsequently begins using the chair effectively and kicks everyone's asses because they are too busy underestimating him.
Ixbran The problem I have with it on Liu Shan isn't that it doesn't suit him; it suits him perfectly, it's just that it doesn't look right with him. Liu Shan looks like the young regal prince, a chair is something that looks like a weapon Jackie Chan would use, someone who looks like the lazy, but skilled martial artist.
gustinex Depends on you. Do you like to create characters? You like to make up stories, while playing? Do you like to create your own empire? If so, then it is. If not, then maybe you can just wait for DW9 to come out, if it does.
If I buy these weapons for Xtreme Legends 8 will I be able to perform the new Ex and Musou attacks? Like If I buy the Mandarin Duck Hooks for Lianshi, will she still do her Ex and Musou attacks using the crossbow?
Wang Yi - they fit her but she didn't need the change. her old weapon matched her and was fun to use. the pericers could have went to a strong female character for DW9. the new first musou is cool but the others feel lackluster. Sun Quan - great change. fire blade for the the seemingly fire clan. a lot more fun than the generic duo an has good combo ability. miss his fire tornado's though. Xiao Qiao - again great change and suits her character (old classic). going to miss her ground musous. they were great for juggling. Lian Shi - doesn't really suit her but way better than the crossbow. The crossbow was slow(even at velocity 10), weak and boring to use. this is fast, strong and has good combo ability. the ex's looked cool too. take this over the crossbow anyday. Yue Ying - i don't really like the weapon, but it looks good on her. her old ground musous were great for juggling, but her new air musou does the job (if she can cancel to the air that is). hope the scythe goes to a suitable owner. Liu Shan - this is a complete joke character now. Guan Suo - it was expected but still a great change. suits him well and the weapon is fast, powerful, flashy, 10/10. flashly new ex's and musous are way better than the 2 kicks from before. Deng Ai - mixed about this. the drill was pure destruction and this a bit more mid range where as I see deng ai in the front lines completely putting in the work on his enemies. Meng Huo - DW6 weapon making its return. makes him look like a prehistoric aboriginal but it's fun and unique. hopegully the gloves go to someone like Ding Feng (brute like build character). overall some great changes and some were not needed. it seems like empires is the now for weapon changes. would like to see changes for ma chao and gan ning.
tbh i like guan suo's new weapon the least of all, yeah even worse then the 'siege spear'. The shoes are way to big, the stance is silly and you just can't use it on custom characters..
The was potential for it but sadly it wasn't implemented well. The best version was Warriors Orochi since they buffed it's speed and power. Motonari in Samurai Warriors was done well. (And Linkle in Hyrule Warriors Legends for that matter)
hey so in this new dynasty warriors does it have the in town store like 7 did and can i buy different weapons or upgrade it and lets say my sword and shield will look different like empires 7
joeynuma The weapon upgrades are different depending on what kind of weapon (actual, star, or joke weapons). I'll give an example. Let's say you brought a normal lvl 6 weapon and the weapon skills are already on there. If you buy a lvl 6 star level weapon, the same type of weapon, then the weapon skills will be on that weapon too, but it's going to be different from the normal one or the joke weapon.
why do they change the EX and musou for this people? O.o and liu shan's weapon...... and what about his rapier? given to sima shi? despite having his own version of rapier? .-.and other character's old musou and ex....what happen to them? how could i hold all this....what?
The Boat Weapon should go to General who's a Pirate, While Huang Gai get's The Grappling Gloves Since His EX & Musou are Based on Wrestling, & The Elder's Sword should come back to Zhou Yu's hand, while the Bo Staff goes to Lu Meng.
Wang Yi, Sun Quan, Lian Shi, Yue Ying, Liu Shan, Deng Ai, and Meng Huo need weapon back Guan Suo and Xiao Qiao are okay. more thing worst day ever let start with this Wang Yi: I like Twin trishula better Emei Piercers don't think fit on her. Sun Quan: think like Sword be little better Fame Blade it little better I rether sword back. Xiao Qaio: Paired Fans I like it, it good on her because one fan think didn't help two is better. Lain Shi: umm I think want Crossbow back I like this one fit on her is better, because think Mandarin duck hooks don't think good fit on her she become more Kung Fu now. Yue Ying: Iike dagger axe is better, because Blade Bow Motonari Mōri already have it. Liu Shan: I rether Rapier back, this worst weapon. Guan Suo: Sabaton I think fit on him because has Musou use kick make sense to me. Deng Ai: I rether like Drill spear better on him, because Revolving Crossbow don't won't fit on him I rether give someone. Meng Huo: I like Gloves way better and think Pillars don't think good fit on him.
Wang Yi - weapon does fit actually but doesnt need a change IMO. As such the Emei Piercers can do on a new female character instead. Sun Quan - its here to stay, i loved the old sword moveset but fans demanded this as his weapon day one... as such yeah its remaining with him. It does fit though. Xiao Qiao - here to stay, its not only a demanded legacy weapon but it fits the character and people have never accepted the old Iron Fan moveset on her... even when they changed the size of it to make it more fitting. Lianshi - doesnt suit her, she was designed to not be as practiced in the martial arts as her lady SSX... thats why she got the easier to use less martial Crossbow specifically added with her character in mind. The new moveset is good but just not for her - as such should go to someone else. Fans dont like this change in japan either. Yue Ying - here to stay. There has been some complaints about the change but it more suits her as a weapon as its mechanical with varying functions which is tailor fitted for her inventor personality more than the in your face out and out grab and smash Dagger Axe moveset. Lui Shan - no one really thinks this is a good fit generally outside of the off comment on sites here and there. He is a weakling but behind the aloof persona he deliberately hides behind he is an intellectual and dedicated leader - there are jokes of him being lazy with training etc but he actually has been shown he is always active in them... just not publicly as its not the perception he wants anyone to have of him. His rapier will return in DW9 i could bet on that comfortably as bashing enemies around with the bench using one arm and not breaking a sweat just doesnt look right what so ever. Deng Ai - the new weapon fits, just as much as the old one really because they are so similar in how they work, the size of them and the fact not many but Deng Ai could convincingly pull off using them... a Meng Huo could but modern weapons go to Jin not tribal Nanman. Dian Wei could comfortably use it but then the Axe is his decade long trademark weapons as is the club with Xu Zhu. Really i think he will get Drill Lance back and the Revolving Crossbow will go to some other new powerhouse character. Meng Huo - its about as Nanman Tribe a moveset as your gonna get and its a legacy weapon. Its here to stay i would imagine - the gloves i actually see on Huang Gai personally. Hes a grappler character in moveset and the Arm Blade Boat does not suit him at all IMO - as such makes sense the Pillar remain on Huo and the Gloves go to Gai. Arm Blade can go to a more fitting character, ideally someone at Wu obviously and someone much younger.
BeyBlazmon AnimeFanshow sun quans new sword is basically a remake of his dw4 flame sword. So really there isn't a problem with it and if anything it fits him more as the emperor of wu. Everyone else I could care less about I feel like everyone's new weapon goes perfectly with them. That's not to say that other characters need new weapons also like sima zhao, zhang liao, and so on.
but the crossbow was a really slow and boring weapon imo. these hooks have good damage and combo ability. i rather have lian shi have a fun weapon that deosn't suit her than a suitable weapon that i'm never going to touch.
Director: "Ok gang. For Dynasty Warriors 8 we're going to need some innovative, concrete ideas. Anyone want to get the ball rolling?"
Game designer: "....give Liu Shan a bench?
Director: "BRILLIANT!!! That's an even better idea than Huang Gai's boat!! Man, this stuff just writes itself."
better then Xiahou Ba's "Seige" Spear pile Bunker or Guo Hai's stupid gattling gun.
Reminds me a lot of Doomfist's hand cannon.
@@Slixer how
Liu Shans weapon actually fits him because of his "I act like an Idiot ,but I'm actually really wise" thing.

@@SwordofHeaven89 I imagine him doing a sassy walk after saying that XD
I love the way Liu Shan poses, he's like 'Look how much of a stylish motherfucker I am, OH, wait, too late, conversation got tabled and YOU GOT BENCH'D.'
This is when Koei's creativity reached its peak.
Sun Quan's New Moves makes him More Badass than His Dad & Older Bro.
Liu Shan's Weapon is Hilarious XD But awesome at the same time lol.
I love the new weapon changes!
I would like to see Orochi's reaction when he sees Liu Shan's weapon XD😂👍
Liu Shan's raging musou like "I'm the handsome boy" lol
i think their taking the "lazy fighter with hidden potential route" with liu shan's character development...the bench really suits him
Wang Yi - Look like a assassin killer.
Love It
Yue Ying - It's kinda weak, but the weapon fits her costume, this weapon is the hardest to use. (Personal Experience)
Liu Chan - It actually fit it pretty well, based on his character and history.
I'm happy with all of the weapons changes
For some reasons I juz luv it.
U guys will never know how much I luv em.
Oh and
Deng Ai - He looks very very cool. Love the Weapon! Love Him! Love the move set.
Pen L After reading your comments, I sense your love for these weapons lol.
Gee Thanks~
I'm so Happy to see such positive comment~ Thank u pretty much~~~
Pen L Oh yea your welcome! :)
+SwordofHeaven89 yea I LOVE the Xiao Qiao VID. I juz Subscribed~ :D
omg, they're really awesome!
Thanks for taking your time and making the video ^^
Keigo Gomi Your welcome and thanks for watching! I will be doing more DW8 Empire videos, before the game comes out. You can always subscribe to see more.
Deng Ai's weapon looks like a minigun.
I like Wang Yi's new weapon, It's made her looks more badass, more assassin and more cold heart which suit to her personality. (Trishula was good for her too, I like her musou that she's jumping above the enemies and hit them in their back but it didn't represent her personality - my opinion)
Xiao Qioa's twin fans or single fan is perfect, I like her whatever her weapon is LOL cause she's cute.
She is inventor she must have something she can use many options in one weapon which I think the one (I dont know how to call this new one) KOEI changed on this is closest (arrows for long range attacks and sword for close attacks)
Liu Chan's bench is very suit to his personality, this is a good changed.... but I have imagined that Vine Jar and drunk/cowardly move set is more suitable for him LOL
Guan Suo's weapon is cool, perfect match for him.
Meng Huo's weapon is nice and suitable for him but it would be great if it doesn't changed from pillar into giant poison mushroom
that's all of my opinion :)
Am I the only one who thinks that bench is the best weapon for Liu Shan ever?
1:24 Musou 2 How do you like my answers ?
Oh my yes... I cannot wait to play this. So much nostalgia from DW6, especially the bladed crossbow and the twin fans. I think the new EX-weapons for each of their respective owners suit them. I still think the old weapons and move sets can be used (for created warriors). I look forward to what new characters are going to inherit the old weapons and hopefully some new and improved moves in their next Dynasty Warriors 9.
Such awesome movesets! Especially Xun Yu's Rage Attack and Guan Suo's Musou Attacks.
Xiao Qiao is cute >.< i like her
When KOEI still care about Character Diversity ❤️
Great video, I hope to see more of DW8E :D
Daichi Tsuyoshi Oh thanks! I will do more videos this week, so don't worry. :)
Nice video sir! Loves the Xiao Qiao part because she's my Fave in this game! can't wait the game to come out in PC!
yeah I can tell lol
Love Guan Suo's new weapon. It fits him the most.
Opinions:
Give the bench instead to general known for being amicable and friendly, and primarily sent as an envoy for the Shu kingdom: Jian Yong
The crossbow fits Yueying's role as an inventor, so it makes sense. Let's give the Dagger axe to another prominent historical female that needs the role. Possibly Lady Wu.
Sabatons to Guan Suo, Nunchaku to someone else
I personally enjoy the idea of making Wang Yi some assassin-esque character.
That, and it would give a plot love triangle between Guan Suo, Bao Sanniang, and Huaman where two women comedically fight over Suo (much to his dismay)
Xiaoqiao keeps double fans, single fan goes to....hmmm. don't know.
Deng Ai keeps the drill spear, give rotating crossbow to someone else.
Meng Huo keeps steele, give the gauntlets to Cao Zhang (Cao Cao's third son, known for killing wild animals with his bare hands).
My opinion is just to make the old characters keep their old weapons, and have these new weapons given to the new characters.
atleast yue ying got her weapon bsck and i like it so much more better since when she uses her dagger-axe it looks weird on her especially because she uses whirlwind in dw8xl it just doesnt fit her.
I don't understand Deng Ai's change at all.
Whoa. Juggernauts AND bomber jets? That's overkill! haha
I really love:
- Xiaoqiao's air musou because it reminds me of her C6 in DW5
- How they combined Yueying's R1 and air musou and added a new air musou (which I think looks awesome)
But there are things I'm gonna miss about their old weapons:
- Lianshi's awesome healing rains, and I don't really like how her new musous look very aesthetically similar (sorry, I like flashy musous)
- Being able to move immediately after the juggernauts come out of Yueying's R1 musou (it doesn't look like you can move anymore based on what I'm seeing in this video)
- Hitting people with a giant rock from the ground using Yueying's ground musou
- Being able to chain Wang Yi's ground musou to her air musou
Overall I like these changes, but will miss Lianshi's old weapon (some aspects of it; though I do like how she is a melee fighter now, even though it doesn't suit her personality-wise) and Wang Yi's old musous the most. Absolutely loving the paired fans for Xiaoqiao though!
p.s. I mostly play the female characters if you haven't noticed lol
& thanks for the video ***** !
Sio rys Your welcome! I'm glad that you like the video! I also did a Xiao Qiao video a few days before this video. You can check it out, when you have time. I will be doing more DW8 Empire videos. You can always subscribe to see more.
What happens to their old weapons? The trifork is still in the game but I'm guessing no character other than an edit officer can ex attack with it?
Adam H Pretty much what you just said. Only CAW characters can take those weapons.
Deng Ai is now the Chinese Version of Heavy with an Oily Hair.
Yueying weapon was from dw6
I'm loving alot of what i'm seeing.Though I was really hoping Meng Huo would have some proper boxing guantlets, ones that hit and not grapple.aslo with his old musou from D-warriors 5 and under when he did the ground pound.Either way i'm am liking the new moves and weapons.Especially for Guan Suo and Sun Quan.Though Wang Yi's and Lian Shi's are looking pretty good.I just want to make some created characters with these new movesets! Great video.
kensheto Thank you! I'm glad that you like it! :)
The Bench Weapon is probably what Jackie Chan would have if he was a Warriors character
Seems some characters have decent movesets but for Xun Yu I like his musou and rage attack even more...
Zhou Yu + that Flaming Sword will be awesome! :D
@jonataeyeon *Sun Quan
He seems a lot more fun to play as IMO.
yue ying use his old weapons in DW6
I like the concept of Liu Shan's weapon, I just don't think it suits him personally.
it'll be fun to experiment with in Character Creation though ^3^
good lord... i really miss the old ones (DW 3, 4 and 5, mostly), there are just a bunch of those silly weapons, with those thousands of hits and stuff.
not sure if i'll like it or not, just going to play the 9th of the series for the nostalgia
Honestly 6 was my favorite, so I'm happy to see my jungle man with his pillar lol all the weapons match accept Lian shi and Liu Shans... His weapon would go great with Sima Zhao I think
Deng Ai is definitely compensating.
OMG thks much i really like xiao qiao yue ying & Lian shi ^_^
han beok Your welcome! :)
Liu Shan has a table...or a bench, or whatever...as a weapon. A TABLE/BENCH as a WEAPON. I'm confused right now, hope Sima Shi gets his rapier back...
Did they.... really fucking made Liu Shan use a FUCKING LONGSTOOL?!?!?
SwordOfHeaven89 on guan suo's sabbaton boots I think (CAW)moka akashiya(vampire) is suited for those.
I like how Liu Shan has a bench now. xD
Meng huo and liu Shan need their old weapons back.. Also gan Ning needs he's two daggers from dw6, those were awesome to use
Gan Ning need his Pirate Sword back
xtremegene
And ling tong needs his nunchaku back
Dem some big ass boots Guan Suo got I was expecting something like Naotora Ii weapon from samurai warriors
Lian Shi now look like SSX's Sparring Partner.
the best dlc weapon is lian shi's. speed weapon = my favorite weapon
she even faster than wang yuanji knives and the adding charge attacks doing 4C and them adding 3C in same attack thats awesome
my least favorite weapon is sun quan hard to control him when he using C attack and i sometimes miss the target
i prefer the old wang yi yue ying liu shan and sun quan
prefer the new on the other 5 weapons
overall not bad but so useless to lose such great weapons like sword rapier Twin trishula and Dagger Axe
Lian Shi: i will end this comments whole career
*process full Slash, Cyclone and Explosive cause one-shots any targets
Omfg Yue Ying's musou attack :O
Wang Yi And xun yu so cool hands down
Meng Huo's and Liu Shan's are just ridiculous but in a strangely funny way
Haha yeah, The new Meng Huo moveset is a deliberate nod to his DW6 Empires days where he had the Stone Pillar as his default weapon and it was even more bonkers as not only had you poison giant mushrooms but you also had the likes of him spinning coconut trees to knock out enemies with the loose flying coconuts!
As for the Bench, well its crazy but then its also a tribute i think to old martial arts movies... Jackie Chan springs to mind with what he could do with a bench. As such whilst its ridiculous its ironically also very realistic in many ways haha
Francis Dickinson
and let us not forget that he would eat the poison mushroom to spit it on his opponents, definately glad to see the Stele again.
no kidding worst day my life T-T I hate this never happing
It's kinda stupid when people said Wang Yi with Emei Piercers are unfitting because they never played it before
good job!!!
brian dragneel Thanks! I'm glad that you like it!
The4thSnake Of course! Your welcome! :)
The4thSnake The bench fits Jian Yong perfectly..
MaDai223 That could work.
I hope and please that Lian Shi gets her previous weapon (crossbow) back in the next Dynasty Warriors game.
i'm a big Lian Shi fan too, but even i have to say that the crossbow was the most clunky and boring moveset ever.
You can make any weapon here
TL;DR The bench destroys what characteristics that Liu Shan had, which fits with how he fight with the rapier.
劉禅のイロモノキャラ感半端ない。
Say what you want about the overall movesets, but most of those grabs were badass.
People are sleeping on Deng Ai.
Smh...
Still waiting Xingcai's fork and shield tho--
Liu Shan looks hilarious but still looking harmless tho... and Yueying is back with her DW6 weapon, hmm....
Liu Shan is fun to play with that Dragon Bench. Reversals, Counters, and Bitch slapping troops all day!! :)
My mind blew. Soo much awesomeness. I just hope they dont make yue ying stick with the crossbow for dw9. The Ge has a more comfy moveset.
Also I can't believe that Deng Ai knows jiu jitsu
I'm not sure how I feel about these weapon changes.Wang Yi Xiaoqiao and Sun Quan are fine but Lianshi and Yueying Im not too hot about
Dw 7 was the most spectacular work, also the xtreme and empire. Then they are just too greedy for dw8. I mean we were all astounded once they thought up a new style of musou.
Xiao Qiao's combo just look amazing. Is Yue Ying consider to be able to dash in the air now? Is Yue Ying Bow the same like dynasty warrior 6?
+Kevweeny Her bladed bow is a dive weapon and it's the same one like in Dynasty Warriors 6.
Now WHY THE HELL didn't they give Xun Yu his Formation Rod back for DW9?!?
Because KT wanted DW9 to be "realistic" lol
@@SwordofHeaven89 We all know what happened there...
Yea, pretty much lol
I wish they give Diaochan's twin maces back to her.
You're not the only one.
Same here i dont think the chain whip suits her a lot
then what happen to all of their original weapon in dw8 xl, we cant use those anymore? I like Deng Ai original weapon more than this one.
feigay Their original weapons can still be used, but only for CAWs.
Lian Shi : same as Sun Quan ( like husband like wife - hate them both but i'll like them a little bit - )
Xiao Qiao : finaly she have her twin fan back i'm happy for that .
KHALEEFA RAJI You can still use their old weapons, but they won't have their old ex and musou attacks anymore. It can only work for CAW characters.
Wait so are these gonna be their new main weapons from now on?
Yes Lian Shi!! Finally! No Yue Ying!! Should've just make a new character with that weapon.
Damn, Koei is really thinking out of the box. But I can't stop laughing at Guan Suo. He looks like a dork.
it pisses me off they removed his Nunchaku
Bringing pillar or needles into war may seems legit, but metal boots? bench? Better bring an AK or not going to war in the first place
Since Xu Zhu used his Tummy as an EX & Musou not a Giant Hammer, His New Weapon should be a Tummy Protector
And still no hope for Gan Ning pirate sword back......
I loved that weapon, his "new" one since dw7 sucks.
Wang Yi- Punk Costume with Drum Sticks as weapons confirmed.
a chair? sure it fits his character and would make a pretty interesting moveset, but seriously? they should've at least made a character based on Jackie Chan to use it, it doesn't look good on Liu Shan
"Hey guys, I stole this park bench from the park. I'm gonna use it as a weapon."
Sydney moore That really looks like Liu Shan! Hahahahaha
akirajotaro it fits better with Jian Yong who was said to be very relaxed and laid back.
I got a question. Can you transfer you're Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends to Empires like you could do from Dynasty Warriors 8 to Xtreme Legends?
***** You can't transfer everything to Empires. However, you can transfer certain stuff like costumes and your DW7E CAWs to the game.
liu shan is suddenly jackie chan. is this game worth getting ? i love the original dw8
gustinex Depends on you. Do you like to create characters? You like to make up stories, while playing? Do you like to create your own empire? If so, then it is. If not, then maybe you can just wait for DW9 to come out, if it does.
Well i like creating characters, i never played an empire game before, what's the difference between this and the original ?
gustinex For this one (Empires), you can make your own armies, create your own characters, troops, banners, and customize your horse.
***** and play as litterly anyone except Cao Mao and Gan Ji
***** at least you can create them...i just create them and they looks awesome...
If I buy these weapons for Xtreme Legends 8 will I be able to perform the new Ex and Musou attacks? Like If I buy the Mandarin Duck Hooks for Lianshi, will she still do her Ex and Musou attacks using the crossbow?
only in dynasty warriors 8 empire for the dlc weapon to be with ex attack with character i think
johnny harrisson Ok thanks.
I'm actually glad they changed Lian Shi's weapon, was not a fan of the crossbow~
The was potential for it but sadly it wasn't implemented well. The best version was Warriors Orochi since they buffed it's speed and power. Motonari in Samurai Warriors was done well. (And Linkle in Hyrule Warriors Legends for that matter)
im upset cause i bought extreme legend instead of empire. i guess i have to keep playing the demo :c
hey so in this new dynasty warriors does it have the in town store like 7 did and can i buy different weapons or upgrade it and lets say my sword and shield will look different like empires 7
joeynuma There is no town store. You can buy different weapons, but the upgrades are already on the weapons.
awh so its not like dw 7 empires where your weapons is different everytime you upgrade it
joeynuma The weapon upgrades are different depending on what kind of weapon (actual, star, or joke weapons). I'll give an example. Let's say you brought a normal lvl 6 weapon and the weapon skills are already on there. If you buy a lvl 6 star level weapon, the same type of weapon, then the weapon skills will be on that weapon too, but it's going to be different from the normal one or the joke weapon.
so wait its like dynsty warriors 7 where it will change the look of my weapon
joeynuma Yes it will change the look of the weapon.
Sorry…excellent!!
bassoon tom I'm glad that you like it!
why do they change the EX and musou for this people? O.o and liu shan's weapon...... and what about his rapier? given to sima shi? despite having his own version of rapier? .-.and other character's old musou and ex....what happen to them? how could i hold all this....what?
ok I'm fine with two ex and musou weapons. But Liu Shan using a BENCH. I don't think that was one of the dlc weapons
R Zabala Actually it was one of the DLC weapons from DW8XL.
I'll miss meng's gauntlets though.
The Boat Weapon should go to General who's a Pirate, While Huang Gai get's The Grappling Gloves Since His EX & Musou are Based on Wrestling, & The Elder's Sword should come back to Zhou Yu's hand, while the Bo Staff goes to Lu Meng.
......why did you just make me imagine Gan Ning with the boat?
Wang Yi, Sun Quan, Lian Shi, Yue Ying, Liu Shan, Deng Ai, and Meng Huo need weapon back Guan Suo and Xiao Qiao are okay.
more thing worst day ever let start with this
Wang Yi: I like Twin trishula better Emei Piercers don't think fit on her.
Liu Shan's new weapon made me think more positively of him....
and that why hate this never happing
Why on earth is Liu Shan using a bench...i mean it makes sense though. Given....A Dao....
Seriously how does Xing Cai train someone like Liu Shan if he uses a bench
Excellentfor
Why is Liu Shan's weapons a bench? I thought it was a sword
In DW8E, they gave him a bench as weapon.
i miss dinasty warior 6 and 5 :(
Me too
that's some rock lee shit there .
Were they even trying with Liu Shan? lol
jcanlapan34 IDK maybe lol XD
So what's going to happen to their previous weapons?
GrandHaven Well...the CAWs can use those previous weapons. I guess we have to wait and see, when Dynasty Warriors 9 comes.
is this dlc of dW8 empires? Or is it already implemented in the game? Looking forward to buying the game but do not want it if these are dlcs.
+Antoni Le This is not the DLC. The weapons are in this game (already implemented).
thanks
Antoni Le Your welcome!
