Anthony Edwards is a competitor. And that’s to his credit.
He’s also honest. And Draymond Green is suggesting by being so, “Ant” just exposed a weakness.
The Timberwolves are now down 0-2 to the Dallas Mavericks in the West Finals, and Edwards said postgame that he believes his team is tired.
And the Warriors’ Green pinpoints that as a mistake.
"I've been very, very, very big on Ant Man's interviews after these games," Green said on The Draymond Green Show. "And the reason being is because I know what those interviews mean. ….
“I'm looking for any little edge I can get. … One thing that can come from watching an interview is you spot weakness."
And Draymond believes that the Mavericks - led by coach Jason Kidd and stars Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving - are doing just that. "I think he's going to be one of the best (leaders),” Green said. “(But) I thought he showed weakness in the interview … You don't want to give guys an out. Because guess what, if I'm the Dallas Mavericks, I'm watching that, and I'm like, 'Oh, they tired,' get greedy."
“No composure,” said Chris Finch after the game. “It was the same at the end of the first half. We haven’t really closed quarters very well, closed halves very well over the last handful of games. It cost us a game in the Denver series. It certainly had an impact on this game tonight, too. We’ve got to be better in clutch moments.”
Edwards connected on two free throws to put the Wolves up 59-52 with 56 seconds left to go in the first half on Wednesday. But the Mavs went on a 7-3 run to end the half. Kyrie Irving scored five straight points, including an and-one on Jaden McDaniels’ shooting foul with 0.1 seconds left to play. Irving assisted on P.J. Washington’s floater that kicked off Dallas’ run.
“He looked really comfortable out there,” said Rudy Gobert. “We know he’s a very skilled player, but we got to find ways to make his life a little tougher.”
Doncic and Kyrie are unfair. Doncic (6’7”, 230 lbs.) plays bigger than his size. He moves like a running back and has the physicality of an edge defender. He pokes and prods to find the weak spot in the defense, then blows through it with the force of a battering ram. Irving has The Flash’s speed and Picasso’s touch. He has an unparalleled handle and the best finishing package in the association.
The Timberwolves have the league’s best defense. However, they don’t have the perfect defender for Doncic and Irving. Edwards worked to slow Irving. But nobody can match Irving’s speed and quickness, and it’s difficult to disrupt him near the basket. McDaniels (6’9”, 185 lbs.) can frustrate Doncic with his length. However, Doncic is significantly larger than him. Kyle Anderson (6’9”, 230 lbs.) has more heft but is an unreliable scorer.
“[Doncic is] a very unique player,” said Gobert. “One of the best players in the world for a reason. We know he’s going to make some tough plays. Just got to make him work for everything he gets, and it’s a team effort. I thought Jaden did a pretty good job on him, got a few calls that I thought were good defense.”

Luka should have said "Pardon my Slovenian!" (he did mention that in the post-game presser). You're the first guy to get some audio, I'm impressed. Everyone keeps saying that a 22 year old shouldn't get tired, but the fact is, Ant IS getting tired. He's just not fit enough to handle a post-season. I'm sure he'll work on that (assuming it isn't a weird health issue) during the offseason. A guy like Lively lives on lobs and staying near the rim and setting screens, so he's not having to expend as much energy, plus he gets swapped out for Gafford so he can stay fresh. I think it's a valid excuse that Ant is just tired and lacks the endurance. The good news is his teammates have covered up for him and some of them have not been playing well and could later on (KAT).

I've been bothered by how they defeat and match DEN but cannot Defensively outmatch the MAVS or maybe Luka-Kyrie was just scoring powerhouse, the step back package is really exposing Gobert even Kyrie step back in the paint goes in
