hey I just want to say thank you for all of the info you are sharing. You guys helped me decide on wheels and tires for my truck. Without your videos I would have never considered or even saw the Mickey Thompson atzp3. I will be ordering some cleaning products in the next few weeks! thank you!
I 100% agree with checking out the gallery! Tons of wheel combos on there for the size your looking for. And will even say if the guy had to trim the wheel well to make them fit or not. Thanks C.O.
This happened to me, about two years ago, wish I saw this video prior to. None the less I’m still happy with my current wheels, rubber not so much, but thats a different story. With our harsh Canadian winters, I’ll turn the wheels into my winters. And 9” will work out in my favor to get legit winter tires. I got my eyes on a new setup, snd I learned my lesson. Thanks Shawn
Very informative on wheel selection, picking the right offset and wheel width can dramatically change the appearance or "stance" of your truck. I made the mistake years ago on a truck and had to look at it everyday like meh.i tell everyone to look up custom offsets before making a tire and wheel purchase.thanks
I laugh at guys who order 9 wide wheels and think they're getting a big lip 😂 that's what happens when you don't do your own research. If you're going to spend a ton of money on wheels and tires why wouldn't you do research?
Stomping that's what I think i have wanted rims tires and a lift for my truck sence I thought about buying it but I was 15 when I got it that was 5 years ago now at first it was getting money back from buying it then I bought a few new Guns then a 4 wheeler a few months ago now I'm getting money back so they r on the way but I've researched the whole time
If you want a decent lip on a 9 wide the Raceline Shift wheels I purchased was actually pretty good for a 9 wide. I got an 18x9 -12 offset on my 4runner. It's in the gallery on the custom offsets website. I also think the positive offset wheels look better with beefy tires. The wide tires to me makes up for the lack of lip on the wheel.
Got my MO983 20x12.5 -18 wrapped with toyo 35"mt on my 08 duramax crew and loving them. Thanks for making this "shit I never knew" as it gives me a visual better than those cheap wheel configuration websites.
Great post. I'm sure this vid will help a lot of people with their wheel choices. I got an 18x9 +18 XD grenade (knew what I was getting I don't wanna chew thru front end components) and was surprised there's actually almost 2" of lip on a positive offset wheel!
This helps me a lot I didn't get to thank u before for giving me the link for the pictures of trucks like mine with lifts and tires but yea I thought about 18s cuz I didn't know if the 20s would look ok on my truck being a 96 single cab even tho I saw pictures on your site but I want a -44 offset and a guy I work with said u can get it in 18s but I didn't think so it helps me decide on getting 20s great vid thanks again for the help later
I like the video great info. Just wanted to add some more. I'm not sure if it's possible on the higher end wheels. But I do have some pro comp rock crawlers that are at 15x10 that has a 3.75 in offset. So there are smaller wheels width wise with a big offset that gives a big lip
You can get 10" wide steel or aluminum wheels with more than -44, but you're not really going to see it on fuels/motos/RDRs. Most of those are custom wheels that have to be special ordered and aren't any bigger than 15 or 16 anyway. But you can do it.
I personally am not a big fan of huge lipped rims! Yes, they look amazing for "show" trucks, but for off-road use, IMO you don't need a huge deep lip. I'm running some 18x9 +20 Fast HD Series C4s and they're mean looking! Compliment well with the Duratracs! The vehicle, a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee!
I have a 1995 Chevrolet C2500 Cheyenne 2wd, 8 lug, 3/4 ton truck. I'm wanting to run the Moto Metal MO988 black milled wheels in either a 20x12 or 22x12 with toyo open country mt' s what is the biggest tire I could run with a leveling kit ? And have yall ever had a truck like that with that type of setup??? As well as I'm wanting the wheels and tires to stick out but not like a 14 wide wheel. So how much would a negative 18 be
Super helpful video man! Really helped me understand offset to width ratios and stuff because i was a little rough on that lol. But just a quick question...can you sum up what backspacing is for me? A little lost on that...
Is there any wheel out there in a 20x10 that has a big enough lip to fit the CO wheel decals in it? I'm running 35x12.5R20's and I want a little bit of bump out in the words of Shawn, "in case you hit the curb at the McDonald's drive through". 20x12's should fit on my RAM with the 6" lift but I want the protection.
You've done your homework, Johnny Koch! As far as I can tell, SOTA is the only wheel manufacturer that makes a "lippy" 9 inch wheel. My personal favourite is the SOTA S.K.U.L. (20 x 9). You get about 3.5" of lip ... not bad for a 9 inch wheel.
CJ Baker I'm currently running 20x9 BMF fites... I've ran 20x10 20x12 22x14 and a few smaller sets.. MY favorite is the 20x9 due to the weight vs look! A 29lbs 20x9 wheel looks better then a 50lb 20x12 IMO
Hey, Johnny. For tires, are you running LT285/55R20s? That seems to be the standard tire size to get the low profile look. I'm wondering how they affect the ride quality. Any thoughts? Right now my 2011 4Runner is sitting on Ultra Motorsports Mongoose 17 x 9 (black with milling) and LT265/70R17s. Next week it will be riding on SOTA S.K.U.L.s 20 x 9 with the LT285/55R20s. From your experience, how does having more wheel and less rubber affect the ride quality?
Trentb well then hell with a little bit of trimming you should be able to run 37's fairly easily, or you could put a small body lift on it and do no trimming at all. my buddy is running 37x13.50's on his 97 z71 with a 6 inch bds and 3 inch body
where's the breaking point, or is there a breaking point where you can no longer balance the tires perfectly related to lip? used to the only way to properly balance is get weights out on the edges.
Lmoa, here in Australia a +18 is about as far as you can go. Ive been trying to decide if i want to spend money on +18 wheels and you just made it perfectly clear how pathetic a +18 is.....thanks mate, i'll get a lift instead!
have a f150 looking for a rim with lip like the moto metal 962 but that comes with a offset of -44 rich would stick out a whole lot I'm looking at about 2 to 3 inches of sticking out no flares somebody have any ides
Great video! This is very basic. Something I learned YEARRRSSSS ago but a lot of people need to be informed. Always good to learn more info! Keep it up!

King Z only reason we don't approve is pics or specs are bad. Check your email we email with any issues. No email? I would upload again because something went wrong.
"Take a couple snaps, get made fun of.. realize something was done wrong" LOL happens to me all the time :D

Zeke Rayment you are super welcome and THANK YOU for the support!!

Exactly what I needed...”my hand held”🤣🤷♂️. Ty sir

Awesome. I needed this info for my first big truck wheel purchase.
I literally just binge watched the entire "Shit I Never Knew" series. Doing all the research I can before I drop bills on my 2500. Great videos
Awesome job. Thanks for sharing all the information.
Thanks for your videos guys! What a help for someone looking at wheels trying to figure out what to purchase. Right on.
Thank you again for another informative video. I like it. Definitely want 20x12 now for my truck. Keep making those great vids
Nice vid! I just threw those Fuel Kranks on my 265/70/17 KO2's a month back. Same -12 offset. Love the look on my 16' Tacoma
Mark Mettles awesome! Load her up at www.customoffsets.com/add !
Eagle Alloy makes a 15x10 -46. I have had them on my truck since I got it and they have been amazing
Just go with the tis 544 20x12 -44 33x12.50s I did and couldn't be happier

Super helpful and to a degree funny. Thanks mate
I honestly never knew that, this was very helpful
thanks for all the great up dates and info...
Loved this video. There's so many people that have to see this

check out Ultra Predator II wheels. I have the 20x9 -12 they have a nice 4-1/2 in lip there the deepest 9 wide ive seen
actually procomp makes steelys that are 15×10 with a -44offset
I have a 1995 Chevrolet C2500 Cheyenne 2wd, 8 lug, 3/4 ton truck. Thank you guys so much
Super helpful video man! Really helped me understand offset to width ratios and stuff because i was a little rough on that lol. But just a quick question...can you sum up what backspacing is for me? A little lost on that...
Shoes and Stuff Very common question. Here is a vid ruclips.net/video/mS2DjoLY-sM/видео.html
Good stuff, offsets can be very confusing to people that don't deal with it on a regular basis.
Is there any wheel out there in a 20x10 that has a big enough lip to fit the CO wheel decals in it? Unfortunately they will not fit on anything less then a 12 wide Jordan!
Custom Offsets thanks, I guess 20x12's it is
I'm sure you guys get it all the time, mommy buys them a set of wheels and they get them expecting a -100 offset lip on there 20x9 moto metals. Lol
gotcha!! I had it right in head just not on here.
Will those deep offset wheels affect your wheel bearings? As in will they wear out and need replaced more often?
3:04 there are 10 wide -44's you guys even used to sell one
Slowarado if you mean like the 15" 10 wide -44 correct I totally wasn't thinking of those sizes. I meant in the 17"+ style wheels.
*SOTA* formally known as _BMF_ has a largest lip on a 9"...wheel there 10.5" looks like a 12" wide.

That happened to me when I ordered my first moto rims 😂😂 I wanted the negative and the order the regular
ok I just watched it...helped out alot, thanks man. so the more neg offset, the more backspacing right?
drew hamm no... the more negative the more front spacing or lip. The less backspacing.
How far does a -24 stick out the vehicle ?
Check our gallery out for fitment help Victor! bit.ly/2DgLW0N
Hey, Shawn is back!!!!!
What do I need to do to run 37s in my 2012 GMC Sierra 1500
Trentb 6-9 inch lift kit
Mountain_Man I'm on a 7.5 rough country, and I run on open country a/t's
Trentb well then hell with a little bit of trimming you should be able to run 37's fairly easily, or you could put a small body lift on it and do no trimming at all. my buddy is running 37x13.50's on his 97 z71 with a 6 inch bds and 3 inch body

relatively Alan, 18 wides will be a little rough but theyre also 18" wides
Anything under 12" wide is not going to satisfy anyone trying to get that big lip street truck look
getting Lippy with it
do you have a video on 26x16 forces or fuels
ruclips.net/video/l-Xr6Jd_61k/видео.html
What are some really wide lips?
12 wides and up!
If you still don't get it, just call the guys and they'll get you what you want. Simple as that.
A 6.5 wide with -144 has plenty of lip. But then again it's a dually rim
Yoooo Shawn, I see you with the fresh ink brotha.
how long do the wheels and tires take to arrive
10-15 business days from date of purchase.
Lmoa, here in Australia a +18 is about as far as you can go. Ive been trying to decide if i want to spend money on +18 wheels and you just made it perfectly clear how pathetic a +18 is.....thanks mate, i'll get a lift instead!
Ryan P we've heard they are real harsh down there on stance laws, what a shame! Check out the lifts we offer at customoffsets.com/lifts
not trying to sound dumb but what are they talking about when they say backspacing?
drew hamm not dumb at all. Very common question. Here is a vid ruclips.net/video/mS2DjoLY-sM/видео.html
Great video
thanks for the tip
have a f150 looking for a rim with lip like the moto metal 962 but that comes with a offset of -44 rich would stick out a whole lot I'm looking at about 2 to 3 inches of sticking out no flares somebody have any ides
Boom. MO962 in a -44 Check it out: www.customwheeloffset.com/buy-wheel-offset/MO96221235344N/moto-metal-mo962-20x12-44-custom-wheels
Peeps looking for lip check the BigBlock and Dropstars in 10(-24 not -12)&12(-51) wides.
what is that rdr rim
TP PZ it's the Red Dirt Road 01 (RD01) all black with no machining
Great video! This is very basic. Something I learned YEARRRSSSS ago but a lot of people need to be informed. Always good to learn more info! Keep it up!
Yes it did help explain the "Big Lip wheel" trend great video thanks 👍👍😎
Look, I love these videos... I do. BUT... Please put the remote mic in the center of his shirt! We don't care if we can see the mic or not we just want the sound quality to be consistent throughout the video!
TN12valve we caught that on this one also. We started centering the mic now. Appreciate the honest feedback!
I want you to know i learned aloy from your videos. And that is why i will go out ofbmy way to buy from you
What's the purpose of big lips?
Crix Macea it's the current trend. Just like the shiny part on your shoes or color of your boots.
More surface area to put the lipstick on.
New Tatt bud?
Ryan P yes sir. That Fitment Inc ink!
i need one -76!...i wish
If you go with 20x9's you might as well just plasti dip your stock wheels black!!! And spend only20$😂😂😂
Your advertising should show the exact wheel and not a better looking size.
I posted my truck on custom offset but guess y'all
Didn't like it
King Z only reason we don't approve is pics or specs are bad. Check your email we email with any issues. No email? I would upload again because something went wrong.
Custom Offsets some those pics don't even show the beauty of the rims on the trucks guys take.pics with a potato
Some guys don't spend alot on cameras/photo shoots, we've all been there!
Custom Offsets tru
