I was in the first Magical Burger King commercial when I was 9 or 10 years old. I said the first line "Cause magic's more fun than anything." And then another kid said "Introducing the new Burger King." (or something like that). It must have been in '76 or '77. I can't find it anywhere on youtube. I had forgotten the part where he twists his ring. Thanks for posting this.
I stayed up late one night and watched what I thought was a cooking show. Every time I thought it was over they'd say, "But wait, there's more!" They were chopping onions, tomatoes, steel pipes. Yeah, it turned out to be a 30 minute infomercial! Fooled me once, shame on them...but they're not fooling me twice!!! Shame on you Ginsu knives!!
The very handsome and extremely talented actor, singer, dancer and magician Fred Barton who portrayed the Marvelous Magical Burger King is the best ever! I love these classic Burger King commercials with the stunningly handsome actor Fred Barton! I love everything about these classic, clever, entertaining and fun commercials with the classic, entertaining fun jingle! Everyone in this commercial is fantastic and very talented! The handsome actor whose necktie is under the magic spell of Burger King as are the three singing cheeseburgers on the tray he is carrying is ingeniously creative! These commercials are excellent! I was born in the late fall of 1978. I enjoy watching these classic commercials over and over again! Thank you so much for posting and sharing this classic commercial!
I love this commercial! I was born in the late fall of 1978. The stunningly handsome and extremely talented actor, singer, dancer and magician Fred Barton who played the Marvelous Magical Burger King in these classic, clever, entertaining, fun and ingeniously creative commercials is originally from Portland, Oregon and lives in Hollywood, Cailfornia where these commercials were filmed! I say to the small minority of these spiteful people "seek professional psychiatric help and give it a rest!" Just consider the source! Thank you for posting and sharing this classic commercial! I really enjoy everything about this classic clever commercial!
That is so cool. I know it might read cheesy, but we sometimes never realize how much of an impression we make on people. I often think of people I met only once or saw when I was a child and continually think of them. I have friends from when I was a pre-teen that I think about weekly at the least. For years I thought about that Burger King guy because I was telling my wife it used to be a real actor. I didn't think anyone else remembered his character.
Jack Taylor yes i do remember him and the Duke of doubts battling. My son laughed hard at the Duke of doubts he said to me why don't they bring them back. That Burger King guy is better than Ronald McDonald.
RocketeerRaccoon The only thing creepier than waking up next to the plastic-faced Burger King would be getting into your car at night, adjusting the mirror, and seeing the plastic-faced Burger King in the back seat! And in one commercial, that's what happened.
When ever he turned into a real person from the drawing in the beginning why the fuck didn't the kid scream a run scattering in different directions. That's what would have really happened
I love this commercial! Fun to watch and with a catchy jingle. It's not scary, creepy, or weird. It brings back happy memories of my childhood. I was 9 or 10 when I first saw this commercial and I love it.
There's nothing weird about this. I came expecting something odd, but ended up seeing a normal commercial targeted towards kids from back in the day. It's a fun, neat advert. I've watched it three times..still am not seeing what is supposed to be "weird" about it?
Thank you so much for posting this. I really enjoy hearing from others in my age group. I'd guess yes, that was 77. For some reason, everyone I know my age, can remember that time more than any other. '77-80 really burns in my memory for some reason. Lots happening at the time. I can even remember Carter and Ford debating on TV. I' turn 42 here a few months, but I still feel very young. Amazing how much we've seen happen in our young lives, am I right?
It does bring back a lot of memories. I used to tell my wife (who's a lot younger than I) that there was a REAL Burger King guy that would twist his ring... she thought I was making it up. I like BK, - Wendy's is expensive as all get out (to me anyway). I used to eat at McDonald's like most folks but lately they can't get the simple Filet O' Fish right. How hard is it to squirt tarter sauce directly on a sandwich? Is it that hard? Really!?
ha ha! Well,no. it was a combo of a few things. The "wise king" of fairy tales, the common place of the 'free look' in the 1970s and then the tv program "Grizzly Adams" look that became popular because of star, Dan Haggerty (may he rest in peace - loved that show btw) ruclips.net/video/oaABMX3oZr4/видео.html
They were better than McDonald’s in the 70s. Now the Whopper is a greasy mess topped with cheap cheese, a soft tomato and brown lettuce. I blame the public BK leadership equally. People started complaining about the high fat and salt content and BK started using substandard ingredients.
I do not remember this ad campaign. I don’t watch tv anymore but a few years ago they had those creepy live action commercials with a guy in costume and a plastic King head. Looks like the plastic head’s face was styled after this actor’s face. Kind of weird.

I love that they didn't just green screen him in. He actually rotated 360 degrees on location.
Green screen didn’t exist back then dumbass

Back when ads where longer and more fun.

Just before I was born lol!!!
WhileTrue yes this is way back when i was little. My son & nephew are impressed about these commercials.
Yes! You are so right.

It's just a shame Burger King doesn't advertise with the King anymore.
and Ronald
I'll admit. This commercial is genius.
Now this is the Burger King. Not like that creepy, plastic King they have now.

He's the Marvelous Magical Burger King! He can do most anything!

It made me hungry until the burgers started talking, then ... No thanks.
Lol!!!
GWS at least they don't have eyes or some shit like that 😂😂
Agreed...those burgers looked less flame-broiled and more like they'd been sitting with Homer Simpson at the nuclear power plant.

A magical mishap involving a pair of locking rings and a Whopper made 70s Burger King into the plastic golem you see today.

I love how they gave their food as little screen time as possible. Like, “yeah, our food is crap, but HEY! Come look at this guy!”
you're crap
The good days when people sat down and ate, now everyone is in a big damn hurry.
Wasn't there one where the King plays a trombone, then disappears and the trombone continues to play in midair? Or did I just dream that?

I love the food from Mickey D's, Burger King, and Wendy's. But Burger King had better commercials.
@@thegeorgiealityshow359 I love hamburgers, chicken nuggets, chicken sandwiches, and fries, but I never liked fish sandwiches.

American classic!!!
That version of the Burger King kind of reminds me of Chuck Norris!

Which is worse? This or the Stalker King?
Robert Walker stalker! the original King was kind and did magic. He was the Grizzly Adams for hamburgers! *All hail the **_real_** Burger King!!*
