Real reason this little circuit breaker was installed was so big money can get out behind the scenes while they dump on you 💯
Ross, I have noticed that when this occurs, sometimes the stock will show "halted" and other times they will show "suspended". Is there a difference and if so, could you do a video explaining the differences?
There are halts during extended hours (news related usually, buy outs, etc..)
FFIE was halted today after moving 3 cent
They did this to protect the hedges. I saw huge red candles with no halt orders at open but then it went up 7 percent and they halted.... they did this to save the hedges.
Aren't halt levels different in the first and last 15mins?
Exactly, this is equivalent of turning off the sell button on RH in 2021, how often do they really fault trading when the little guy is losing? Almost never
Exactly!!
@@biggwill21931trading halted like 20 times
They didn’t do this to “protect the hedges”
This is completely normal and happens every day of the week with multiple stocks.
Many brokers will even show you the halt levels and resumption prices etc
It’s pre programmed into the entire market. Not some conspiracy theory to hurt GameStop traders. The logic has been in place LONG before GameStop made its first move
Nice
Ross...I looked to see where GME landed last night around 830 est. It appeared to still be trading somewhere....constant price changes. Why is that? I thought trading ended at 8? Thank you!
Does anyone know what charting program Ross uses?
I understand, however both AMC and GME were both halted several times today at only 7-8% moves not 10%
if it haulted, how do you know what the move would have been?
@cashkrop the move can be measured on the chart before the halts. Quite a few were not 10% in 5 mins. Not only that but the stock wasn't halted on all platforms, only some
@@dekkx1did it stop on ToS? I want to try to get in but if it halts it’s to risky
@@Dontdoit_yes was halted on ToS
@@joshtavenner3073thank you, I was at work when all this went down
They killed all movement in AMC, GME, MVIS, etc again with those halts. Its rigged.
The trading halts for GME and AMC appeared to deviate from the standard protocol.
Nice Kei truck on the wall, had a 1994 Suzuki carry just like that
So, basically, a broker can cheat you out of your profits.
Thank you for this episode since I lost big time in all of these stocks today and I was well in green for full month .
HALTS are a signal to get out imo
Just on time when I was looking for an explanation for the halt!
Always solid information ... Appreciate you!
Today was my first experience with holts I swore I was being sabotaged
You are regardless of the reason they say a halt is put in place its only put in place for big money, the whole market is designed for them thats why you don’t overstay your visit holding any stock
This video has been helpfull. Thank you!
*helpful
I love your videos man, i learn so much through your daily videos alone then i have from trying to learn elsewhere. I knew you were going to make a video about amc when i seen where it was at around 6 this morning, so i had to come check it out lol.
@RossCameron2
I love the sentiment that that the Reddit crew are trying to squeeze the short market for billions of dollars lol. I had some GME stock for over a year and sold some of it pre-market for 47% gain lol
Thank you Ross, didn't know about the LULD in the L2. Now I know what to look for to get an indication. I did run into a situation today where it basically said I didn't have enough funds to buy GME, so I must have been maxed out since leverage couldn't be used or reduced. I didn't see any visual indication in TOS, but maybe it is there and I'm not seeing it. I will be asking them tomorrow. Thanks again
It means that hedge funds are losing and that the little people are winning. Next outages, again 😭🤣😂🤣😂
No it's just that other people are losing which is why the circuit breaker halts are implemented. I feel sorry for those who traded with no indicators and I know some of them personally that have lost money on GME.
Wishful thinking
Did you even watch the video?
@Throwing_bullets what he described was accurate.. but there is more to the story than limit up and limit down. And all comments help his channel.. and it was funny, if you wanted it to be.
Facts!
I think you’re wrong as someone just can be.. this was protection for hedges… Globe Life dropped from 100 to 36 with no halts… I think it was pre market, but in regular market is jumped way more than 10% up… or take Upstart.. dropped from 100 to 25…in minutes
No he's right as usual. It was the insane high volume that triggered the halts, twice actually, one digitally and the next manually to extend the period.
How does it open a much different price after a halt if nobody trades during a halt?
Because at the time of resumption, orders start again. Wherever that match is made is the new current price point.
Whales get to trade after hours.
Market orders. If I place a thousand share market order to buy right at the halt….there has to be shares available to fill my order
And the nature of a marker order means that I am willing to pay whatever price the shares cost. Give me 1000 at whatever the price is.
So say it halts at 50 bucks. I have an order on the books. A market order for 1000 shares.
If there are no sellers at 50… I don’t get filled at 50.
If the next available shares sitting for sale by someone are priced at 57…. Then when the halt ends and trading resumes… my thousand share market order will grab the shares available at 57 dollars and now that is the opening price.
When you consider the fact that thousands of traders are trying to market in at the halt, while a much lesser amount of traders are trying to sell as its gapping up… it’s easy to see how the price immediately blasts up right out of the halt and resumes higher
Dark pool trades😊
So why do they halt on the way up? To protect us from profits?
Your profits are funded by a far more powerful establishments losses....So yes.
This is the BEST.
THANK YOU!!!! For always teaching. 🙌🏼
Question can you trade on warrior trade or I just for scanner’s and the coaching
Our webinar is a great place to start! It's free to join, and you get a digital copy of Ross's best selling book "How To Day Trade" just for attending. You can see more information and sign up here - www.warriortrading.com/free-day-trading-class/
I highly recommend attending if you can. This will give you an idea of how Ross teaches, and provide a better understanding of what we offer at Warrior Trading. Plus, Ross gives attendees an awesome opportunity to join the community!
I heard that some of the stops were manual and not circuit breaker halts. Was that actually the case, and if it was, why?
because only retail are to lose money
It was both, first digitally then the next manually to extend the period. He already explained why the halts are implemented in the video already.
Robin Hood was doing some funky limited trading 😕. During the after hours it was kind of strange
As a beginner I didn’t know about halting. I feel like it burned me today
How often have you been trading
It doesn't halt nearly as much when it goes down. Only when it goes up.
I wouldn't have minded halts. I could not even log on to my etrade account for the first hour of trading yesterday. I just got a message that their server was too busy.
Me to. Something not right here. watch etrade
I finally left E*trade a few months ago and just moved it all to TD, I use think or swim anyway and don’t regret the change at all
E trade was down for 4 hours yesterday. Crazy
Then why didnt $FFIE get halted with a 367% gain at 28 cents
I think it was because of just that, the price. Pretty sure that’s why.
If anyone knows differently or can explain it better, let me know.
As Ross explained, the quickness at which the price moves will create a halt when it reaches its threshold. A stock can up 2000% throughout the day and not halt and one can go up 20% and halt.
Is it OTC or Nasdaq?
Because at no point did it move more than 15 cents in under 5 minutes
That's actually incorrect. During a LULD halt Market Makers and Prime Brokers can in fact buy or sell a stock. Happened numerous times in the dark pools today on both stocks mentioned in this video.
Dark pools work outside the market hence the name. So, he's still correct.
Can a broker halt a stock intentionality, if the entity wants to?
The exchanges (Nasdaq/NYSE) can, brokers cannot
@@DaytradeWarrior Even if they can manipulate a stock and cause it to hit the thresholds for a halt to occur?
Thank you Ross for this video, it is very helpful
However, don't you think it is a strange coincidence that stocks related to each other halted several times during very short periods while other stocks did not halt on the same day, even though they were very volatile in their movement (SPWR for example) ? Isn't it a strange coincidence that your account stopped trading in the same stock as well, on the same day In the pre-market period?, in fact, I do not trust them very much
nonsense
Hi R, Hoping you can help me. I bought some Zuckerberg this AM with BASE that started at 0.0002927 USD and is now 0.07178 USD, but my wallet notes, it's on Base so the $ amount isn't showing up? Any suggestions on how to fix this?oss
So what's the catalyst driving GME this time?
Social media post
Shorts haven't covered their positions
Ross, you always talk about finding stocks of interest that are up at least 10% with the potential to jump 100% or more. Do you deal with these circuit breaker stops on those, too?
If they're fast moving and have a large range halts are common.
I think some of your information is incorrect? Isn't the effective time for halting earlier than 4pm? I thought I read they didn't halt after like 3something PM, no?
Stocks will halt up till 4pm ET I’ve been in halts into the close before.
thanks man! found what i was confused about before. from investorgov: "market decline that triggers a Level 1 or Level 2 circuit breaker before 3:25 p.m. will halt market-wide trading for 15 minutes, while a similar market decline “at or after” 3:25 p.m. will not halt market-wide trading". so i guess its the level 1 or 2 only, that i was thinking of! love your videos dude, sorry i got confused there!
I love your videos Ross and been following you for a while but I saw it with my own eyes the past two days. I wasn't seeing nearly as many halts when it was going down than when it was going up. There was clearly market manipulation going on and the circuit breakers were being exploited
Hey Ross! Beautiful P/L🤑!!! Amazing, as always. Be well.🥰
Many thanks, Ross!
Stopping trading is criminal
No it’s not. Stocks would drop to zero with the slightest bit of bad news due to cascading market orders
The market would be a complete and total joke if there were no controls in place due to how order flow works
maybe watch the video before commenting?
@@1gregmoreiraso let it , thats real trading and how the markets should really run not having a smart computer on billion dollar servers doing crooked trading! That has no business being in trading when you cant openly see what the computers are doing
That sucks
Robin Hood only allowed us to buy the stock during after hours within 20% of $36 when the stock was at $40😮 please explain this to us Ross. And thank you for your videos 😊
Thanks for the education that was tremendously helpful. 🙏
Thank you
Very informative
can you comment where will gamestop and amc be tomorrow or near future?
Lol
with further analysis on gme and amc , we are 100% sure that they will be up or down tomorrow.

Patience & not being too greedy is king.
Play it smart, folks.
Thx Ross
Ross, during a halt, although you can not execute a trade can you place one and wait for the stock to resume to be executed? thanks
yes, you can
it was halted under 10% of movement
Wishing I had a margin account to short gme rn because there's absolutely 0 chance it's gonna hold these levels for long. Ran it in a simulator and made $250k yesterday
This aged well
Yeah I was about to buy puts for GME but opening halt killed me lol
I thought that halts only apply to a price DECLINE? Did I misunderstand?
Your title made it sound like there was a reason there was a halt besides the regular reason. And last video said GME didn’t meat your criteria and then next vid you said you made bank off it
I did trade GME yday I just didn’t feel comfortable chasing it. Today I traded it at what I felt were better spots.
Gme.. 55 in after hours 😂🤣🤣🤣😭
Very helpful thanks as always Ross
This was protection for shorts, we’ve seen it before. It’s also why a bunch of these financial guys were tweeting and on the news talking about what’s happening with GME should be illegal. They don’t want retail traders to win.
buy only now dont short you will get burned
We get it but none of that has to do with amc and gme.
Came for the comments section, was not disappointed 😂 😂💀
I was confused as it was halted on the downside but my tape was showing all green I feel I was robbed today
GME going to $100 and AMC to $20 this week. Check the option flow
used to be 5 minutes. I've noticed in the past couple years that 80% of halts last at least 10 minutes, thats too long for me as im biting my nails
Do halts apply to the institutions as well?
It applies to all trades on the specific security from our knowledge.
God damm Ross, you did it again....thamk you for that explanation...
Thanks for explaining halts. I assumed it was so the "house" could scramble and potentially have other "opportunities" arise that would distract the potential profiters....
Your Shirt Goes To The Moon ⭕
So, the market is ONLY FAIR between 4 am - 9:30 am.
As always 👍
610$ today scalping AMC!
Thanks Ross I was wondering about the leverage
Basically, there is no free market. God forbid hedgies/banks lose money; we can't have that. In extreme cases, we have switch your account to "only sell".... (wink, wink)
LULD
Everybody made money except me🤦🏽♂️
Gme 64 overnight.
Happened to me last month.
First #1🥱
How can everyone forget what happened last time? They won and shut it down! Robin Hood stole from the poor and gave to the rich! They ended it..... Don't fall for their games.🍷😉
They sleep 😂it only happens when you can make some money 😂robinhood people
Those halts weren't legit.
SPWR > PAMP IT
Whaaatt? Ppl that don't know about halts trading with real money? That's crazy.
Ross I always learn something new from you. Thank for you for always elevate our levels of knowledge
$RILY taking off next earnings tomorrow. Not financial advice
11:56 interesting but this is for shorts not long right
Why do they halt when the stock goes up? They halted it when the price was going up, now down, a few times
It's all gunna crash like a mofo that's why...
Amc had no problem CB the second it started rising but would only halt on its up ticks
They halt on the way up way more then than they do on the way down. When you have billions of synthetic shared thats what happens.
This is another example of big money controlling the market..yes we need rules but be carefull on who makes those rules
Got burnt good by this today, lost around 10-15% profit, still profited tho!
ya 34 times between AMC and GME today...seems legit!
RIGGED
So basically you can only put money in to the stock market and never make money off it
How can anyone say AMC is "UP" today ???
Open at $11.85
Closed at $6.88
Someone needs an elementary teacher's help again
Lol 😆 🤣
It started this morning at 5.
I'm a fan of Ross, but I don't agree with him this time. There were many stocks went down 50% or more without any halts. This is absolutely to save the hedge funds.
