Kayak Fishing Competition - Hope Island

Today my mate Bristoe and I joined the Qld Hobie crew on the Coomera River in a friendly fishing competition. The day was pretty tough with a few flatties caught amongst the members, myself included. I believe the lack of flatties were due to the Flathead Classics in the past few days.
After 6hrs kayaking around the mangroves and saltwater creek I finished up with one flattie, one trev, 3 grunters and a small bream. Despite the lack of fish caught I was suprised to have came 3rd overall in a field of 15 competitors.
It was a tough day for everyone, myself included. I caught most of my fish on the troll compared to soft plastic which only resulting in the single bream. Nice day overall with good company 🙂
