There was something uplifting, pardon the pun, about sitting on the plane with this song playing over the speakers as you waited for takeoff. I was disappointed when Qantas moved started using something else.
You've got it all wrong mate. He's a brilliant Australian icon representing a very iconic Australian company. It has nothing to do with him selling tickets, it's about creating a wonderful, fitting piece of music to match something that has been a massive part of this country for nearly 100 years. Being the oldest continuously operated airline in the world and the second oldest in the world overall, Qantas is testament to what Australian's can achieve and offer to the world, as is Daniel Johns.
Daniel is a genius! A virtuoso I must say! Any kind of musical style he does is just brilliant. The fact that they all started when they were literally just a kid. Daniel and Silverchair as a band is just one of the best band ever. Music and lyrics, SUPERB. And this? What a great composition!
quite ethereal .. it looks to me that everyone involved felt they were making something magical .. and good on Qantas for their courage .. without them this wouldn't be .. it makes sense that the person who created something as sublime as Tomorrow as a schoolboy created this .. so very life-affirming and inspiring .. just beautiful
Daniel, I love your new stuff. But I want Silverchair back... Your music saved my life, and the day that Silverchair was over, was the saddest day of my life. Please, I beg you that for my birthday (July 25) tell me that the band is back. I love you three and I need you... Anabella, from Argentina
CianaLetoGoddess It’s kind of sad to see these kind of comments as while the pleasure of listening to his music saved our lives , he on the other hand was dying inside as teenage boy .
well thats your opinion..but this is great! he is nothing short of genius here :) melody is so beautiful..Daniel would be great at working on sound tracks and commercials like this..hes great at anything musical.
Its great , but it doesnt have that memorable sentimental feeling that the "Still call Australia home " campaign had. For that reason it won't stay in peoples minds. As a musician though , he is a freakin genius !! More talent in his little toe than the rest of us combined!!
The fact that I come back to hear this piece from time to time shows how lucky we are to have Daniel John's. Hope one day he comes back doing music.

Everything Daniel does it pure magic!
I can't wait for his solo album to come out already! Love Silverchair, love the Dissociatives, and can't stop watching this video. Man's a genius!

That's the beauty of competition and democracy. We have the choice to say what we like and fly with whom we choose.
I just can't get over how HUGE this is sonically....

This is just so incredibly good!
So beautiful!
I mean this in a good way, but Daniel.... Have you ever thought about writing scores for Disney??
>M
Fantastic!
Love it!
Thank you!
I noticed that the only music you've liked on RUclips was "Yes Sir I Can Boogie" and "Heaven"... I think I can leave it there. :)
I'd buy a ticket!

This piece copped a lot of flack but I freakin’ loved it. Still sounds great in 2024.

Well obviously because they like it
Where are our indigenous people in this video please?
It's kind of sad that a musical genius of his calibre is wasting his talent on selling airline tickets. What a depressing time we live in...
Sorry, but this piece of music doesn't do it for me on any level. Not sure why Qantas woudl sign off on this as it's not memorable or inspiring.
Still sounds so beautiful to me... 😭
@Daniel Johns BOOOIIIII IF YOU DON'T TAKE YER SCAMMIN ASS SOMEWHERE
