    Why is this so exciting to watch TUSKY become renewed?
    You can paint toys in all your videos from now on and I'll watch them for sure

    Looks great. My fave figure of all time as it was the very first figure I bought as a kid. I bought a recarded version but annoyingly the seller hadn’t touched up what was quite a worn figure before recarding!,

    I did a bunch of these a couple of weeks ago! I used the Humbrol silver paint though - it was a solid match for the original silver! These are a really nice figure to touch-up. I re-carded one too! I'm thinking of poking a little hole in the bottom of the bubble to let the plastic 'breathe' a little...

    Great job on the paint. I need to invest in some humbrol, I have never used it before. The Uni pens are great. I found a gold one in a drawer that is several years old and it still works.

    Do you know of any places that sell the cardboard backings, but for other figures that were't in the original line? I'd love to make a repackaged Wedge Antillies figure. I know they made a version for the Vintage Modern line, but I'd like to put a custom Wedge figure inside rather than a modern figure.

    Mr. Polloi,
    Are there unscrupulous collectors who try to recard figures and sell them as NOS? It seems if you weather the card properly, and use the right glue and such, you'd never know! Love watching you videos, btw and the Optimus Prime full resto was your pièce de résistance, IMHO.

    Wonderfully nostalgic channel. I can't seem to find a site that sells humbrol acrylic paint as a full set, only individual jars. Can you recommend a site that sells a starter kit?

    I'd love to see one of these videos on 1985 Amanaman. On mine, the yellow arms are lighter than the yellow on the main body. And that common scuffed dark green on his forehead is another blemish on mine.

      It's possible the Amanaman I bought has arms from another same figure, even though they're not loose.

    great work! it would be nice if the cape were bend on the top, like the original, by using a heat source to form the plastic

    Great video would you have any ideas on how to reverse yellowing on bubbles of carded figures. Thanks

  • @sirPUNKsir
    @sirPUNKsir 6 лет назад

    A tip that may work to give the cape its curl like the old figures: heat up a nail or if you have a soldering iron use that. Line up where you want the cape to curl and bring it close enough for the vinyl to slightly react. (the side you want it to curl towards) Obviously it shouldn't be too hot as you only want the vinyl to constrict with the reaction and not melt. Worth a test methinks

    • @toypolloi
      @toypolloi  6 лет назад +1

      I like them with the collars up. You can easily fold them down. No need for heating.

    • @sirPUNKsir

      horses for courses I guess! ;) and if it doesn't need heating then great! Ignore me! hehe

      best to warm repro capes in hot (not boiling) water before folding down the "hood" as repro capes tend to crease very easy and look terrible.

    I have a question about Humbrol. I did some touch ups with some cheap acrylics from Walmart and found that it rubs off easily and makes a mess of other figures if they are stored together. Does the humbrol acrylics hold up to handling or is it just good enough for display?

      @toypolloi  6 лет назад +2

      Its easy to tell. They look very new. The double sided tape is easily spotted. The print is not quite as crisp. Ideally they should have added a mark somewhere in the print, which I have suggested to them.

    What are the ethics to recarding a repaired figure? If it's just for your own collection then O.K.....but if reselling then it's fraudulent.
