Black= Performance
Blue=Overall usage/Bang4Buck
Green=Cheaper but more eco friendly
👍😉
In the SSD M.2 the eco friendly is not an issue because the consumption is always the same, not equal to the mechanical HD. I Think.
pedro andrade black is best
Blue is also best
Green is very good.
Western digital Cavier black is piece of junk
i got a blue for new system which im gonna start tomorrow cant wait
@@davidbridge3118 how's the response ?
I was confused as to what type of SSD to buy but after seeing this video, I came up with a good decision. Since I'm just a regular computer user I did go with the WD SSD green and it saved me more money for other upgrades. I though if you buy an NVMe SSD it will make your system 3x faster for that price point so was in luck to see this video. Thanks!
that answered my question. If youre a gamer or content creator DO NOT get the GREEN ones. Don't get anything less than the BLUE. or if you care about performance. but if you are just an internet browser, email receiver or sender, you can get the green ones
The Blue and Green are SATA 6GB that can work at Sata 10GB, and the Black is PCI-E X4 the way of the MB Lane is used is different. that's the big diference from the Black, In my opinion the Black is the right choice for people that will work with 3D environments and Video like Adobe and for those that will game professional online for example, for 4K we need a hard drive that can take the biggest IO Flops. The other too are for those that want an SSD but a little bit more faster than a standard SSD. Blue for games and Green for Office for example.
👍😎
Hardware-wise they are like that but on workloads, can be but not necessarily true. ruclips.net/video/xu4q-lQrJr0/видео.html
I just ordered the 120gb green. A massive upgrade to the one that's in my computer. Paid 25 quid and will install Kali linux 2020
i have used the green.I think green is enough to if you want to play heavy game because it work smoothly.
@Massoed Loob it a bit slower compared to other but is enough to run heavy game compared to HDD
I think a lot of peeps are cofused with M.2 SSD vs NVME!
I honestly dont think so 😀 There is nothing to be confused at. The M.2 form factor has several different connectors (Sizes) one of which is SATA like WD Blue / Green and NVME like the WD Black. But they all are M.2 SSD´s - Dont take it from me 😀👍 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M.2
RJ ☺️
Thanks for the link. Lots of useful info in there, for the newbies like me in these form factor SSDs
M.2 is a form factor. SATA drives can be either M.2 or 2.5-inch drives. NVMe is only in the M.2 form factor.
@@googlewolly there are PCIe and U.2 NVMe SSDs.
@@VezWay007 I know.
I got a blue Wd for my Asus tuf gaming laptop. And Seriously my laptop was slower than a snail and sometimes I felt like just throw this thing away. But Since I installed Wd blue ssd into this it’s amazingly fast and now it feels like I have a laptop which I can use.
Now I feel myself totally outdated! Didn't know @ all about the existence of PCIe SSDs :O
I'm totally impressed, about the performance of the black. It's fast as hell, guess these SSDs were designed for servers right?
We are all outdated in something in life so no worries 😉 the black is great for any desktop or mobile but can off course be used on a server 👍
I purchased the Green one, but I'm a guy who copied files to 1.44 floppy discs back in the days. :-D
Nvme is fast... But is really worth extra cost when it really makes a difference of mostly 2-3 Seconds in real world usage and general work?
Nvme are 2 twice the price of sata in some places btw
Hi Roberto, do you recommend using M.2 as the master and a secondary example 1TB mechanical as secondary drive.
I have a next question which i hope u can guide or give answer to , which is , would the WD M.2;s be compatible with ASUS X505ZA Laptop ?
I have tried to check on google but not very easy to get proper results.
Bit late, but assuming people still have a small SSD as boot drive and spinning rust to store large files, the mechanical drive becomes the bottleneck - so there should be minimal difference transferring the files. The black makes sense if used in a professional environment.
Just got the wd black at the price of the wd blue on amazon totally worth it
Nice hehe 👍😉
End of the video you told me exactly what I needed to know. THANKS!
Hi, thank you For video. Could you say wich is better For games. Thx
Which is best installed in a gaming pc just for windows and some programs maybe because i’ll be installing games in hdd?
Did you use a different slot for the black one? Or did everything work with the same(nvme) m.2 slot?
For editing a lot of photographies like 10.000 on same folder. do you think there s much difference between blue and black? Here is like 50% expensiver so i need to help to choose. thank you
@robertjorge I want to buy m.2 sata SSD for my laptop. WD blue is almost 20% expensive than green. I just want to improve overall performance. No heavy files are to be transferred.
Should I go for green or blue?
I like your desktop wallpaper on the right monitor. I am using it too!
Should i buy Blue SN550 500gb or Black SN750 250gb for performance? Because I heard SSD have more storage will be faster.
Just one question, which color of nvme ssd of wd has more health. I mean if I go for blue or black. Which one will last longer in terms of health.
I have two SSDs... one SATA and the other NVME... which one is bettor to install the OS in anx the other as a scratch disk for permiere pro?
Which one of it is CLASS 40 as Dell demands for my 3585 inpiron..pls reply..i wanna buy
Hi. I liked your video a lot. I wanted to buy a WD Black but what I do the most is video conversion and bluray burn so I think the blue is my choice isnt it? i liked when you told us that if you wait your system starts three times faster with Black that ir not going To happen
I have normal ssd in my build ( Kingston Hyperx Fury ). But never had m.2 should i buy the green one ? Is worth it ? 30 dollars in my place for 120 gb
Ahh thanks dude, this is what we call review . it's clear and easy to understand haha
The black is NVMe and the others are SATA III , of course it blows them out of the water.
Hi am. Planing to buy this for my gigabyte x470 aorus ultra gaming would this be compatible with it because i couldn't see it on the compatibility list on the motherboard website I found the black but not the blue
Could you confirme this plz?
Thanks
I read somewhere that the WD green does not have a d-ram. Is that true for these m2 too? or only the 2.5 inch ssd's?
When running a video at 1.25 speed becomes useful.
i do that for every video i watch
bought the green one, will it be good for the main OS file?
Aren't there 2 types of M.2 drives? There is slower SSD using SATA and much faster NVME SSD that using PCIE interface?
Both M.2 connector 😉
hı Robert my laptop Model: 7th Gen A9-9420 APU
Family: AMD A-Series Processors
Line: AMD A9-Series APU for Laptops
my computer supports PCIe 3.0. According to the Asus service my motherboard m.2 ssd wd green and blue support. but nvle wd black does not say anything for the card. You think there's a difference between wd blue and black. Does the motherboard support wd black?
Nope,wd black is nvme. Most laptos, especially the old ones support only sata.Anything under 2500$ and older than 3 years wont support nvme.A9 is pretty much 7 years old, only sata m2 cards will work.
Hi, I'm about to order wd blue one. And my question is, after it's installed, what's the next step, please? I've heard it is not about turning on the laptop and just use it, I've heard I need to transfer something to the ssd...
Yes Transfer or clone the windows file to SSD and then use your SSD for boot.
Very surprised you did not mention the lack of Dram on the green drive
This question may probably be waaaay off topic but an M.2 NVMe 3 x4 is compatible with the Asus TUF H310M-PLUS gaming motherboard right? I gotta know before I go buy that sweet black WD M.2 SSD in my local computer shop. It has this written for the storage section spec when I searched it online:
Intel® H310 Chipset :
1 x M.2 Socket 3, with M Key, type 2242/2260/2280 storage devices support(both PCIE 2.0 x4 & SATA mode)*1
If ur confused with the motherboard that Im talking about feel free to search it up for urself, would really want ur feedback.
Is the Green one ok for just putting the Operating system on
yes its a fantastic drive, best bang for buck in my opinion, either that or the Blue
You should have used graphs for comparison , like Line or Bar etc. This could have made video very informative.
what do you recommend for gaminng , planninng to buy a wd m.2 nvme will be playing pubg and insrugency sandstorm
I bought the blue one and for gaming is perfect
@@zerosdown8 was not able to find a blue m,2 so i just settled for a green 240gb m.2
@@oenone1974 I didn't test tge green but I think that is enought too
@@oenone1974 is green ssd fine? How is it doing?
@@_insertname_gaming507 i have been using my wd green m.2 240gb for 2 months now and no problema what soever , able to install my windows 64bit os with no problems , was able to instrall pubg and insurgency sandstorm and able to play both of them without any problem
Do they have a software for these nvme ? As samsung nvme does come with one
can you fit an NVMe and a regular sized ssd on one motherboard
Is wd green good for gaming? Im really short on cash so I cany really afford the others.
fine
The WD Black fits in a Asus Prime B365M-A ????
Which one should I buy Samsung 850/860 evo m. 2 or wd blue m. 2
All of those are great so get the pne you personally prefer at the best price 👍😉
S: Sam
S: Sung
D: Drive
Green is slc, blue is tlc. SLC has longer lifespan isnt it
Well I still couldn't decide I brought all 3
Just ordered a black for myself and the build I did my little sister. It was only $10 more
P.S. Blue PCIeX2 is out now, just bought a 500GB from Newegg last night... I nearly bought the SATA version, it's too sneaky.
who cares
Green one has 100 tbw and blue has more than 600 to 900 tbw which shows how durable they are
i think this should atleast be good replacement for my laptops 5400RPM harddrive xd
thanks man for the suggestion. helped me to decide.
But looking at Samsung evo 860 SSD m.2 the speed won't drop it will maintain a level
How is the durability/lifespan of each?
Not sure about black but wd provides 3 years warranty for both blue and green.
Which one is suitable for msi x470 gaming plus?
Any of them even low end x470 motherboards come equipped with one m.2 nvme ssd slot.
If my motherboard is z-97 asus, would I can install the black WD ssd?
Yes.
I love you sir. Excuse me.
Can i put a black SSD in a laptop acer nitro 5?
wd blue it is then.brilliant video felt like it was me testing them
and what is the temperature of the disks under load? It’s a pity that you don’t indicate this, since it is the temperature indicators that cause the speed drop of M.2 SSD drives
m.2 Wd blue vs m.2 crucial MX500 ?? at same price of 6.3 k for 500 gb
Why my wd green m.2 is only gettings 462/162 r/w in crystal clear?
Can be the sata controller
@@RobertoJorgeTech Are you talking about the controller on the motherboard or the controller inside the SSD? Are there different versions of the 240Gb model?
Is wd green good enough for assignments, online classes and some editing? (No gaming) I wanna kno if the prrformance gapp between blue and green is big in these area since the blue one costs 60$ more than green (in my country)
Which one is better? I have the same question
Is getting green for os a good idea?
Sir_CL0WNZ every type of SSD are faster than hdd
Why the copy speed drop in blue ssd
Samsung 860 Evo or Wd Blue?
Same capacity.
Samsung is 10$ expensive
Samsung has more warranty.
So which one?
I suggest you to go for Samsung if you have the budget......
can anyone give me their experience on the green 240gb ssd WDS240G2G0B ?
No difference Blue or Green - the main difference Version 1 (with planar TLC) or Version 2 (3D-TLC). Version 1 is ok, but cost more than Samsung 860 EVO. Version 2 is a nightmare, I've replaced it by warranty, used new one for 2 hours, and then sold out, and now I can tell truth about it. First of all you should know that 5 of 5 3D-NAND TLC SSDs from WD (3 Green 240, 1 Green 120, 1 Blue 250) SMART's I've seen have Bad sectors even it's new (169 SMART attribute), second it's 30 times less relieble than Samsung 860 EVO or Intel 545s by some tests, and 3-5 times less relieble than noname chineese SSDs. So.. Version 1 (with planar TLC, not 3D TLC) is Ok, but overpriced. Version 2 (with 3D TLC) is a nightmare - don't buy it.
Concussions vanish & decisions become instant for purchase
Thanks very much
👍 😊
i got a black for my os i got a blue 1tb for my games and etc im building an no mechanical harddrive system
Obrigado Roberto
For primarily gaming, you'd be stupid to get an NVMe drive if it's more expensive than SATA. (I'm talking to you, idiots buying Samsung NVMe drives.) Many do it, but they're wasting their money. Look at some videos that compare SATA SSDs to NVMe SSDs. On average, the NVMe speeds were only two seconds quicker.
Thanks @Roberto Jorge, im tottally outdated, just find 3 years after
Today, black and blue same price, green half the price of those.
that's why i ordered the green one
is this can kill stutter in gta5?
happy with my wd green 350
Para el sistema operativo blue o black
WD black - - - >like
WD blue - - - > coment
Great video. Thank you.
black 5yrs warranty and blue was 2yrs hhmmm???
thank you for valuable information
Megabits, or Megabytes? Think it's megabits. (8 bits=1 byte)
MiB or Mib = Megabits, Mb or MB = Megabytes
@@daniel_bailo MB is Megabytes, Mb is Megabites..

WD green is faster than a sata SSD?
The WD Blue and green are both M.2 Sata ssds though they are they same speed as regular ssds. The WD Black is M.2 NVME which is why it's faster.
who live longer ????
спасибо бро
Audio quality sucks.
Blue best
