@@ladiandmargaret because it might get loose over time due to vibration
While it may be painful for some people to hear, the reality is that in the automotive industry this has long ago been settled. The gold standard is to (properly) crimp wires where possible. This is what industry does, and what you should do, too. Whether you’re splicing or attaching a terminal makes no difference. To verify this just take a look under the hood and you’ll find hundreds of crimps, but virtually no soldering. As long as you have the right tools, crimping is the way to go.

Excellent. There is a lot of good planning and forethought here. When I built my live-in van before traveling across the country (U.S.) for a couple of years, it was much more of an improvised experience, and I've suffered a lot by the poor planning.
I don't plan on living in the next build for long stretches, but I do plan on much better planning and "fit-for-purpose" considerations. Great vid, great build.

I love how many custom details you added - the desk, the fully rotating seats, the projector, the camera switch, - without shooting the moon (and failing) by trying to do it all (e.g. a toilet).
This is the first time I've seen a van accomplish separate sleeping and living spaces; this is the first time the living space has actually looked livable.
You and Margaret are so genuine and nice! I wish you all the best!

Thanks so much! We built it as a full time home and we work a lot on computers. Easy access to ebikes was important and the entire van is very supportive to live a good life.

My wife and I both work from home, so we really appreciated the concept.
We designed our space in a similar way: I wish I could show it in a comment! haha
We're lucky to have the space to segment our home into "office," "kitchen," and "living," which I've found vital compared to the past, where I felt I was sharing my office with a living area.
You've managed to do exactly that, without the drawback I experienced, because you turned your van into a Transformer that can function in whatever state you require, in the moment, without making you feel like "I'm watching a movie in my office" or "I'm working in the kitchen."
It's really marvelous and so well-thought-out; I'm not into van living but I'm watching all your stuff simply because you're so creative, innovative, and focused on quality (my guess is, that also translates to that computer work you two do).
      Are you two artists?
My wife and I run a multifaceted company with focuses in consulting, fashion, media, and translation: anything we enjoy, we try to incorporate.
Really awesome to get to know you, Ladislav: maybe someday we can do a cooking video in your van. :-P

    • @ladiandmargaret
      @ladiandmargaret  5 лет назад +1

Sure thing, we are always open minded :)
I think there is more or less artist in every human. But I definitely consider myself an artist. Mainly for my mental approach to things. What I mean is that I never work, I always play if it makes sense.
Online we do a lot of things, videos for youtube and instagram, photography and recently we started this business mysuperebike.com/
