- "What does it mean when the Bible says women should not braid their hair?" Pastors John and Wes offer Bible answers to this question and more in episode 3 of season 6.
Learned over the years braiding or planting hair tends to be a cultural thing but it actually saves time. The hair remains in a neat arrangement for a good week or so for 60 to 90 minutes work. Believe that when women did adorn their hair with gold threads to catch the eyes of admirers is what the problem was.
Now my hair texture does not 'stay put' easily. It flies in a good breeze so am rather envious of black women in that respect. Some days I need to brush my hair to neaten up several times. My father often braided my sister's hair before school each morning and for church. It was a simple treatment to reduce tangles. At night my grandmother would take her hair down, & braided it for bed. BTW, She had a wonderfully grand Christian character! ❤
Self correction strikes again. "Braiding or Plaiting"
King Solomon had braids. Samson long hair. It is broided hair the bible said which is wearing jewelry in the hair.
My favorite program. Praise God. Thanks and God bless all. Come quickly Lord Jesus.
Are you prepared to meet God? Better be prepared before calling him to come.
Thank you for this beautiful spiritual discussion!
Great questions. Great answers.
Thank you Pastor's... God bless 🙏🏻😇
I'm glad to have stumbled across this channel. Great information. God bless you.
These are CULTURAL Issues, WE Need to start PREACHING The DOCTRINES of Christ.
Yes indeed
I believe strongly tgat the gospel will be preached by many
I also Believe..
The time is short… 🙏📚🙏😊
People are asking these questions and want to learn and grow.
There is a thin line between culture and doctrine. Doctrine defines which culture is not of God , so let the pastor preach.
If it were not important, it would not have been written in the Bible. "All scripture is given by inspiration of God . . . for instruction in righteousness" (2 Tim. 3:16.)
Agree! Some of the dresses that are being worn are so extravagant, anything can be idolized.
I really appreciate,and love the way you explain 1 Timothy 2: 9-10
We should not have to dress like world. As christians we can still dress simply, and modestly and still
look attractive! God wants us to focus on the inner adornments! which is more precious to Him!
Clear answers from the word of God🙏❤
God bless you 🙏
Very Good answers
Praise God!!
Thank you!
Preach the the word let's go home 🏡❤🎉 maranatha
You're right, Abraham kept GOD's Commandments
Hallelujah ❤
Long time pastor John
The braided hair usually in black women is for easy maintenance. If it goes all sorts of colors, then it is to enhance beauty.
Amen🙏❤️
Exactly enjoy the thing, dont idolize it.
I’m intrigued that some have a problem with the questions and the answers. Just understand that people are sending in questions to get Bible-based answers. Should they be ignored? These pastors are not personally attacking anyone, they’re just sharing their understanding of the Bible in relation to questions asked. Nobody demanded you agree with them.
As far as hair braiding and jewelry (adornment), the key is the motivation rather than the practice. Why do you feel the need to do it? Nothing wrong with keeping your hair neat and out of your face. I wear a wedding band when I’m alone in places where no one knows me, just so the ladies know I’m married. If I wore jewelry to get people to look at me, or to get attention, it’s the wrong reason.
Amen
Amen 🙏
On the last question:
I find it amusing that people try to juggle all kinds of nonsense to discredit and forget the ONLY commandment that starts with the word "Remember". They also, unsincerily, ask the question, "did Adam and Eve" kept the Sabbath?" My question then is:" Is God's Law eternal?". If the answer is "no", then God Himself can not be eternal. Amazingly though, even the fiercest critics of the Sabbath, recognize that Adam and Eve "most likely kept the Sabbath" (quoting from Dale Ratzlaff book "Sabbath in crisis")
The majority of Christians are a ok with commandments 1,2,3,5,6,7,8,9 and 10 but its the 4th that itches them 🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
What do you suggest doctors and nurses do on the Sabbath?
@@andreamichelle1 What about it?
@@andreamichelle1Jesus said “it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.” Therefore, a doctor or nurse providing necessary care for patients on those days should donate their earnings that day to the church, to avoid profiting from doing good on the Sabbath. That said, if we believe this commandment, we should not go out of our way to work extra Sabbaths.
@@wreckedbmwguy9925 Yes and let's not forget about military personnel, policemen, firefighters, EMT's, etc. And who would have a busted water line on the Sabbath and wouldn't call a plumber to fix it the same day? Or fix a flat tire? Who wouldn't seek help for a medical emergency on a Sabbath?
@@andreamichelle1 depends on the circumstances and the situation. You should read “A thousand shall fall.” It discusses a man forcefully conscripted into the nazi German army in WWII. The Lord will make a way for you to follow His commandments, if you’re willing. He made a way for this unlucky soldier to keep Sabbath in a hostile military through the whole war.
Great show. The backdrop, who chose yellow and grey? Good to see you again!
I have seen and been shown this.
My difference is this: I'm not going to be the one who will judge you, save or condem you. So as far as I'm concern, you live your life your way. Just because I have to live my life by rules says nothing to or about you.
Of course it's your choice to live your life the way you wish to but, this program is for people who want to know what is proper in God's sight and the true Bible teachings.
@@blueskysailing And those willing to read, willing to be lead have that choice.
It's a relationship between them and the creator. I can't tell anyone who to live or follow. All I can do is make sure my relationship is tight. That is what I'm responsible for.
You not only responsible for that. Does Jesus Himself not also command you in Matthew 28 to go out and TEACH people?
@@shr355 It does, but Lot understood more than you. He could not change the people of Sodom and Gomorrah. All he could do was make sure his house was right.
I've been here long enough to know the only person you can change in this life is yourself and you get along better with people if you don't try to force them into your mold. All you succeed in doing is drive them away. On the other hand, if they're still in your life there are many possibilities.
I have seen preachers drive people away from God and church doing the same thing you're saying.
I'm not going to argue the word with you, so please, continue to believe the way that you are.
I don't think it's about judging or condemning anyone as much as showing others what is right. If you came to the understanding that this is right in God's eyes, or right as shown in the Bible, why can't someone else come to that same understanding? It's not out job to force or make anyone change a thing, but simply show them the right way, and leave it up to the Holy Spirit to convict them. At the end of the day, it's absolutely their choice. But we can definitely share the knowledge we have.
People shouldn’t JUDGE what is going on or not going on behind closed doors!
what is marriage in the sight of God? what constitutes a marriage? is it the papers signed in a registry or church?i have tried to find the definition and where does a marriage take place and when ? what marks the coming together of two people in marriage?

I just want to understand when u say they received a portion of the Holy Spirit,it doesn't sound right, because the Holy Spirit is the part of the Trinity in essence but having different offices.please explain.thank u
They are right
Please read Kenneth Hagin's book.
The Holy spirit manifest in levels.....there is a spirit within and a spirit upon. One at salvation and the other after baptism of the holy Spirit.
A king could be a father, a husband or a friend..,..your depth of relationship matters
The concept of receiving "a portion" of the Holy Spirit" is not so much a literal term as it is a symbolic term.
Think of it in terms of a romantic relationship or a friendship. When two people enter into a friendship or relationship with each other, it's a gradual process that develops over time, as the two people get to know and know about each other. At first, the two approach each other somewhat cautiously, learning the basics about each other. As time goes on, the friendship or relationship deepens, and trust in each other deepens; so we give more of ourselves to that friend or partner. That's how it is with the Holy Spirit. He gives more of Himself to us as we are ready to receive it. Over time our trust in the Holy Spirit deepens; and as we learn more about the Gospel and the plan of salvation, we want to know even more. When we are ready to receive more knowledge or understanding, more guidance from the Holy Spirit; and as our love for God deepens, the Holy Spirit guides us into deeper understanding and a deeper love for God the Father; His Son, Jesus Christ; and the Holy Spirit.
Remember, too, that the Holy Spirit is supernatural. He is Omnipresent (everywhere at once). If He weren't, then He could not be in me, guiding me, while being with and guiding you or the millions of people around the world who receive His guidance. In a sense, the Holy Spirit is giving a portion of Himself to me, to you, and to each and every person who needs His guidance simultaneously. I hope this helps your understanding of the nature of the Holy Spirit.
Black people love braids. It is culturally appropriate to wear braids.
Bible also talks about tattoos
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
God made gems for us to enjoy if one chooses to wear them. I dont wear them because of religion.
What denomination is IIW? Or Church body?
IIW = It Is Written. The title of this biblical program

What makes people married? Paying Caesar and getting a license?
I rather listen to a Gospel message
Thanks
It is part of the gospel
Just the ear tickling.
Here's the verse to help them out about cohabitation before marriage.
Romans 13:13 KJV
[13] Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, NOT IN CHAMBERING and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
Amen.
Emphasis on chambering.
Have a blessed day.
As it was in the days of Noah so it will be in Earth's last days. Morals on earth hardly exist these days and it is becoming quite scary. The only thing that we can take with us from this earth is our characters and not our adorned bodies.
The young man was Mark.
No. It was me.

I am a bit confused! Isn't living a moral life the doctrine of Christ?
“Your righteousness is as filthy rags.”
The doctrine of Christ embodies the Ten Commandments: 1. Love the Lord your God with all your might (first 4 commandments); and 2. Love your neighbor as yourself (last 6 commandments) (see Exodus 20:1-17; Matthew 22:35-40)
If you keep the 10 commandments, or the two commandments that Christ voiced in Matthew 22:35-40, then you will live a moral life. So, YES, living a moral life is the doctrine of Christ.
Yes, this is part of a doctrine of Christ.. but most importantly is that personal relationship with your Lord and Savior. Blessings!
Jesus was a Jew and we are spiritual jews Romans 2:29. We also are called Christians because we are associated with Christ.
So this seems to be very selective in who this targets. Ye with out sin, should cast the first stone. It is always easier to bring out someone else’s sins, but rarely do others speak of their own.
@Simply_Justkim. Those jealous SALTINES will do anything to try to make BLK peepo look bad including telling lies and manipulating the scriptures!
If you want to deny reality, you can. Your response has nothing to do with what the bible says. It has absolutely nothing to do with who is without sin, acknowledging your sins give you strength. We all know we are all sinful sinners. But living willfully in sin, you can't talk yourself out of it.
These people do not really hit the absolute topics that have to do with your salvation and he just told a 16 year old boy to go to church without telling him what church to go to blind leading the blind
I keep saying this and I'll continue to say it never trust anyone that wears a suit and tie
Fanatical because I say we must accept all Scripture? That shows that you just want to adhere to parts of the bible
The Sabbath and Abraham question, the answer given proves too much. It does not say he kept my holy days etc
Jesus kept the sabbath which is a part of the ten commandments. It was not done away it
@@claudetteallen4995
So it is clear that no one can be made right with God by trying to keep the law. For the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life. Gal 3v11 among many others
Whosoever did not keep the Sabbath day was worthy of death...surely, if you are honest with yourself, then you should not be around anymore yet you pretend it away and extend to yourself mercy which you did not earn which is a hypocrisy. Also, if others, ie in your own family broke the day, you are supposed to stone them, which you obviously haven't done, which again makes you guilty. The obvious solution is Jesus Christ, the true Sabbath (where you cease from your own works and rely on HIS imputed righteousness)🙂
@@simbarashekunedzimwe1372 Jesus said (paraphrasing), "If you love me, keep my commandments. If a man says he loves me, but keeps not my commandments, he is a liar, and the truth is not in him."
We keep the commandments because we love Him, and as a sign that we love Him; not to earn our own salvation. Salvation is a gift from God.
"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us of all unrighteousness."
(1 John 1:9)
Lol so you two men are assuming that the naked man was Mark! You are also assuming that he wasn’t fully naked and that he had undergarments on! You are just guessing and making things suit your own minds.
There are many many times throughout the Bible that a person is mentioned and it doesn’t tell us who it was. Simply because the identity of the person is not necessary and does in no way affect the message the Lord was sending.
There is ONLY ONE CULTURE,GOD'S CULTURE.
Thank God for evolution, and I look to Jesus. Amen.
Braiding hair.... Still attacking black people. King Solomon had his hair braid but people are not talking about that. Braiding and broiding two different things. Decorating hair is the one that's a sin not plating hair.
who baptized john the baptist?
I did
Start by asking yourself who baptised Abraham and then you will come to the light.
@@nancyoni1234 I did
However, white women also braid their hair especially when holidaying in the Caribbean
Even in European history white peoples had their versions of braids e.g. French braid.

With Seventh Day? If so, you don’t believe in hell thus, there is no judgement for sin. ???
On the contrary. Hell is a very real place, and it is much hotter than many Christians imagine. And the judgment is very real and has significant consequences that will impact how each person will spend eternity.

I think these things cause you to move into idolatry
What things?
I'm referring to jewelry and very costly items that you really don't need and can do without, but your ego and / or your pride or vanity causes you to step into idolatry without you even knowing it. Was this not what the topic was about ! I was only making a comment from my point of view.
@@user-qg6xf2nc3n There were many topics other than the one you mentioned. But regardless, I agree with you. It can become idolatry and a distraction for others, I might add.
“Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.”

Christianity was, and in a sense really still is, a new sect of Judaism. We are spiritual Jews.

It's ok, if your Pastor is in alignment with the Holy Spirit. I am a Berean Christian. I love, honor and respect genuine men of God because I know that it is not easy to be a Pastor. It is a calling and no man taketh this honour upon themselves. I saw Moses and Saul falk because of people. It is not easy to be a Pastor these days because if you are not mindful, you will always tell people what they want to hear so they like you and don't criticize you. For me, I know that one say I will see the Lion and the Lamb face to face. I fear Him. He gave me all the gifts and talents I have, so it is very important for me to always know that I am pleasing Him first. We all will give accounts. I love to pray for Pastors, and if another Pastor speaks the truth my own Pastor has not reached revelation wise. I will pray for him, and stay in the church if God tells me to stay after asking God, but I will not follow anyone blindly, I have responsibility to ask the Holy Spirit. Yet, I will not discard my Pastors strength. I can learn from Him in other areas. Only God is limitless.

Sabbath: Matthew 19:16… Jesus and rich young ruler. Keeping the Sabbath did not qualify him for eternal life- mind you he kept all the laws but still…
Jesus told the most important thing he should do. So, keeping the sabbath was irrelevant after Jesus came.
Jesus first answer to the question “what should I do for eternal life?” was “keep the commandments”. Yes, all 10 of them. It was the young man who then said “I do, but what else am I lacking?” For this wealthy young man (and not every person) materialism was a problem and Jesus knew it. That’s why Jesus tested him with selling his things and giving to the poor.
But it’s a fair point that “by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight” Romans 3:20 Keeping commandments is not how we’re saved. We’re saved because Jesus took our punishment and wants to forgive us. And He said “if you love Me, keep My commandments” John 14:15. And “we love Him because He first loved us” (1 John 4:19) So we keep the commandments from a grateful heart and out of loyalty to our future King.
Legalism = putting the cart before the horse
