I've resulted to just picking a horrible take on twitter from a popular account and then just going down the replies and blocking literally every person who agrees. So far its worked out pretty good in cleaning up my feed.
I'm always very thankful for the general positivity you guys show, instead of the screaming fanbois, but I'm fairly emotionally healthy and enjoy liking things.
I always enjoy watching new Star Wars stuff. I'm easily pleased. My only issue with the show so far is that it doesn't seem as prestigious as I thought it would be. It definitely looks like a streaming show. Was hoping the production values would be a little higher. Either way, great show y'all! 🤘
1. *sound at **1:48* 2. *"The Jedi live in a dream. But, an Acolyte kills the dream."* 3. So far, after 2 episodes, it's quite interesting. My favorite character currently is Master Sol. I think the world-building and crime-thriller aspect is most intriguing. Only time will tell how good or bad the show is.
I came into the show cautiously. And it was ok. I wasn’t amazed by it. But I’ll keep giving it a shot. Maybe the rest of the season will blow me away. 🤷🏽♂️
Great thoughts and opinions, as an almost 60 years old, who have watched a lot, I approach shows/movies of franchises I'm interested in, always open without as little prejudice as possible. I saw the first two eps and wasn't blown away and on the other hand disappointed either. Somewhere in the middle ground (for the moment), but characters: interesting. Pacing, I agree with Adam, it was a bit weird. Predictablity, yes a little bit. One line, explaining what an Acolyte is, really got me and is very fascinating, very strong (and to me totally new as I never red some books etc.), that's to me the promise of the show moving forward, it will be great!
The only show I would have liked to see more people React to was Renegade Nell, but that seems to have passed everyone by. A shame, as it's completely great.
Sony animation is in their bag. If youve seen the Mitchells vs the machines ( which ill rave about till death) is imo spiderverse level good. They need to pour money into that studio.
I am on board with you guys on the ideals of some of the haters that really shit on shows or movies… I am still green in working on films and being an actor, and I can objectively watch stuff yet still appreciate the fact that …. wow this crew was over 200 people, a lot of people who love their job, creative, and sacrificed their lives for these productions. I totally respect that and am grateful because seriously, these days if you can be a creative and get paid to do something that you love, that is way above all the rest of knuckleheads who hate their lives/jobs/etc and LOVEEEEE to complain about everything. When one really depends on the $ that you make on a production for your livelihood, food, rent, mortgage, family, you really do see productions that you’re in a completely different light. LIke… “Wow. I got to pay to get my parents a nurse homecare with this last job before they passed away, i’m so lucky I got to do that production. The crew was great and actors were fun to be around, everyone on the crew really worked their asses off to make this - I care zero fucks if some dork on youtube bitches about the content and who killed who, the acting, the CGI… UGHH that’s just the WORSSTTTT. Just shut up and watch something without such a pious hat on your big heads. LOL That all being said, I love you VATO LOCOS for this channel, It’s one of the few channels I watch that doesn’t get all bent out of shape for movies/shows. You all just enjoy, ingest and absorb all this content with love and laughs. that’s the best part.
Now i want obi-wan vs Spiderman! How quickly would spidey work out how the force works? What happens when obi-wan figures out peter is a teenager? Or got his powers from a spider bite? Love that thought, Hector!
Love the Simpsons & South Park references from Hector. Acolyte👍(so far) They Cloned Tyrone👍👍 Ice Age👍 Adam said it best "you got Giancarlo Esposito, he's gonna be great no matter what role he's in"
so far i realy like this show( just binged ahsoka also great) but im honestly not understanding why its getting hate.....and how on earth.or why are people saying its woke?!?!?! the hell
The whole conversation about the Internet audience figuring out the twist in shows is a great argument for dropping shows all at once. The folks that jump on it right away and binge it won't get spoiled by the conversation online. Also, it highlights how much we ruin shows for ourselves by jumping online to see the speculation. The show was filmed sometimes a year in advance - The creators don't know for sure whether the audience will figure out the twists. They are hoping it will be a surprise. I'm sure they are let down when the audience guesses their big reveals in advance. We should isolate ourselves from that sort of stuff if we want to have an organic experience watching a show.
I stopped watching Star Wars a while back because I got exhausted/burnt out from it, and also just realized it wasn’t for me anymore. Open to the Acolyte though since it seems fresh and new (and hopefully good?)
I also agree. Andor is an excellent series. I am more burnt out from Sar Wars fandom than Star Wars itself. There are so many different series and stories being told across various mediums so if one thing doesn't scratch my itch, there's always something else for me to check out. However, sometimes online fandom (because I've never had a SW act ass in person) can make things unbearable.
@@Scrapluv Yeah for me, I just have fatigue with these stories that seem all or nothing, we’re saving the galaxy/world and all that. It feels like when these shows try to make it so grandiose, I just care less and less
They’re mainly talking about those that continue to hate on things and making that their entire personality. There are “fans” out there that all they do is hate on the thing they say they love. Those are the haters they’re talking about. If you don’t like something, why waste your energy in continually talking about it?
“Is Star Wars back?” Did it go somewhere? Bad Batch was pretty damn great and well received. Same with Ahsoka. It’s so strange how people treat this franchise. Any little slip up and “fans” immediately start hating on it. I’m not saying Heroes Reforged does this, by the way. You guys are one of the few bright lights in fandom. It just baffles me that some people out there say “This better be as good as Empire. If it’s not, it’s shit”. That’s not how you should engage with art. As for the Acolyte, I thought the first two episodes were really solid. The abrupt endings I’m not a fan of. I said the same thing about some of the episodes of Andor as well. I think the mystery is intriguing. It’s a mystery show so I’m going to engage with it differently than something like Andor or Mandalorian. I don’t care about the predictability of things. A New Hope is a pretty predictable movie but it doesn’t hurt my enjoyment of it. Or a more recent example, I thought Dune Part 2 was pretty predictable and I haven’t read the book. But I still loved the film because of the journey I went on with those characters. The predictability of it wasn’t the point and I just don’t view art that way. I love Leslye as a storyteller and I can’t wait to see where we go from here.
Loving The Acolyte so far and the show looks like it is doing well critically and viewership wise so its just a reminder that this toxicity is a bubble manufactured by grifters and amplified by bots. I have started to block the toxic "fans" on twitter and my timeline is thriving. People just need to stop engaging with bad faith actors. Block and mute are your friends.

@@zacharyalanlean 😆 Not "Disney-fied" just lower of a budget than I was hoping for.

I wanted more episodes of The Acolyte after ep2. 😅 I actually stuck around for the credits on ep2 because the score was pretty dope.

The show's creator is a lesbian woman and the protagonist is a black woman, not hard to figure out why THAT crowd hates it
i didn't watch Westworld live, so the big reveal in that first season was a big shock to me lmao
Westworld S1&2 were soooooo unbelievably good. blew me away, even tho I didn’t like the last few seasons, my ass still watched them and had fun. lol
