Incredible playing. So musical, so joyful! The great thing is you need not spend a fortune to get a nice big setup. If you keep your eyes open, you can find great deals. I have four (Meinl 10” quinto, CP 11” conga, LP Caliente 11” conga and 12” tumba) on which I spent a total of $450. With stands! All are Siam oak. All came with great heads except the quinto, for which I bought a flat skin for $30 and formed it myself. All came with great hardware except the CP 11”, which has comfort curve but of the thinner/cheaper variety. It’s still fine though; not had to replace it yet. Tune ‘em well and play ‘em well and they sound great. I’ll never sound as good as Pedrito though. Terrific music.
Si, el de las congas. Estoy viendo que los técnicos de los eventos donde toca Pedrito Martínez, siempre lo sabotean. Son un cuarteto, creo que no es tan difícil hacer una mezcla equilibrada.
I am a big fan of Pedrito, I love is music his articulation to arrangement. You’re truly a God in your own craft. They all are!
