The OS max engines were some of the best engines money could buy back in the 1980s and then for a little while everyone seemed to have thundertigers cos OS got to expensive to buy. Ive had Thundertigers with metal shavings left inside them at the factory, brand new out of the box. Enya was another popular make of engine back then, havent seen an enya engine for years. I still remember my free flight days with a cox 0.49 baby bee engine with a little fuel tank built onto the back of the engine, some of them had a throttle arrangement around the exhaust ports on the cylinder head limiting the amount of exhaust that was allowed to escape the cylinder and thus reducing or increasing the throttle. Then there was the little Co2 engines that ran off soda syphon bulbs you bought from Boots the Chemists. they were brilliant for converting rubber powered planes into something a tiny bit faster, you dont see half the technology in engines that there used to be anymore. My Dad took his thumb clean off running in an OS .60 engine, my Mum called him and as turned around he stuck his thumb in the prop, he taped what was left of his thumb to his hand and got on his motorbike and rode the 7 miles up to the hospital to get it sewn back on again. Ive been vary wary of engines with nylon props on ever since.
O.s engines always had some of best carbs. My first nitro was a hpi rs4 skyline and I can tell you can put one of those os carbs into that. 15 stock engine.
Super informative, learnt a lot of new things about nitro engines, I know an it about petrol and diesel but these little nitro engines are crazy little engines. Respect form Scotland.
Hey mate. Nice video. I 👀 the OSVG30 woooo. Looks cold there. I thought you were vaping. At first. I only tired starting it 3 pull start times. I pulled the coolant head. I really didn’t take it apart. I new it was low of compression. I new you could get a uses out of it. Love the videos. Take care stay warm. I love the savage stickers . Wooo . You rock. Stay warm . Thank you very much for the stickers 😊
Hi Mate, Great vid. Mind me asking what kid of pull start is that?? I read down in the comments about using Kev-lar string, but how makes the actual pull start assy???

I have a OS 30vg in a revo 3.3 and and dynamite .28 I have 25% fuel and 20% the dynamite loves 25% and os hard to start and runs sloppy on it but when I put 20% in OS it starts and runs like a beast

The one on this engine is a Kev-lar string

I think it was from that RC scrapyard so it would have been either 3D printed or from China. I don’t recommend it.
No pinch left in the piston & Sleave. ==> no compression.😢
Looks like the piston pin or inside of the top of the rod is worn to me
Nah that’s alright, I thought the same at first, but it’s alright
Good times loook at your video haggard RC Lois 8 buggy out today in has 😊💯🇬🇧🇺🇲🔧👍👍👍👍👍💯
I like your channel bro
Thank you 😊

There are loads of good engines at the moment, the KE-21 in the MP9 is a great example

Isn't the flywheel necessary so that the crankpin doesn't touch and scratch the backplate?
Shouldn’t think so because the flywheel
Shouldn’t touch the block
Running without a flywheel then complain about it insane HaG insane .it fixed itself by sitting on the shelf. Are you okay Mate?? !! 😂 😭 😭
All was check the barring is way your engine is got bad copson
